Pros I highly recommend using the Whova App. I have used it at many conferences and it is very user friendly. It is very convenient and makes attending a conference so much easier. I am able to keep up with my agenda and important conference information. Cons Honestly, I can not think of a single thing that I would complain about while using the Whova app. I would be disappointed if I attended my next conference and they were not using Whova! Pros It is comprehensive and very good interactive community engagement featured to network. Many features offered to track attendee locations, recommendations, and information on sessions Great networking tool Cons Since I was a first time attendee to the event and first time user on the app, it became a bit overwhelming to keep up. It's really nice to look at the list of exhibitors and session attendees too so you can do more networking. While I used to rely on the conference program books for everything, I am loving using this digital version even more. I'd also like to ask that presenters uploading handouts include their session title in the document file name. All the handouts appear in one list, so a title like "SessionHandout.pdf" is not helpful for knowing if it's the one I'm looking for. Pros It was easy to navigate (once I was able to get into the conference). I loved that I could see the schedule for each day and select which sessions to follow. Cons It was tricky to get into the specific conference because I couldn't find the email with the join info. I think as far as event platforms go, it is one of the best that I have used. Pros I liked how easy it was to use as a platform. You can either access it on mobile or the web, which is super convenient. I also loved how it is just one hub for everything - messages, posts, the webinars themselves, the agenda of the event. Just the integration of everything is phenomenal. Cons I did not like how I was getting very OLD notifications. Like there were notifications that I got from when I attended this conference last year, so almost felt like the notifications were delayed in arriving sometimes. Review Source CC Carson C. I have been to quite a few conferences, none of which have used an app like Whova. It revolutionized the experience for me. I felt so in control of my conference experience from the get-go, and I was able to conduct so much meaningful networking. I was able to find connections and introduce myself ahead of time, and that allowed me to ensure I met all of my goals. When I missed one of the attendees I wanted to meet during the conference, the app allowed us to stay in touch and meet up for a chat at the airport before we boarded our flights home! Pros I loved how it connected me with other attendees, I feel that my experience was much richer because I could intentionally meet people. I also loved being able to build my agenda in the app. Cons I wish it had a map of the conference location, and had shown where I was going next on the map. Review Source MN MANIKANTAN N. Cons There should be a place (drive etc), where the event's documents can be stored for all attendees to download from. This can be enabled after the event. Attendees should be able to download all presentations, posters, videos etc, so that all the information from the event is completely captured in one place for all the attendees to access at any time. It not only helped us see what was scheduled next. It helped us interact in a fun way with the point system. Pros It allows you to be very interactive with those who are in the same event. It creates a platform for those who are shy but at the same time like to participate. It was secure and fun. Cons There was not anything I didn't like. I saw that it was the hosts that are the ones who get to put the point system and stuff so it's not the app themselves, but it's facilitated by the app, and it is wonderful. There were interactive activities that let you interact with the speakers, sponsors and attendees. Pros The engagement and amount of information was excellent. From parking maps to the agenda for the day to attendees and sponsors. It was quite convenient. Cons No down-side other than many attendees didn't realize the value provided, so they missed out. I would speak at another conference for them. Pros I liked the coffee and the breakfast. I also really like the layout inside the building. Some of the vendors and tables were interesting too. Cons It was confusing to find the room that I was speaking in. The problem stemmed from the rooms being constantly changed around and altered. Cons I would like the Community section to be more user friendly. It seems hard to determine which notifications are new and how to respond to them. Cons In the messaging poral, should be a way to filter by current conference. When I'm at a conference, I don't want to see messages from prior conferences. This could lead to confusion. Pros I really liked that Whova had a directory of all the people who were attending the conference and that it allowed me to see their information and communicate with them in the app during and even after the conference. Cons I did not like that the push notifications made a sound because it often happened during sessions but I am guessing I just needed to turn the sound off on the app. Also, it is not the easiest app to navigate but I think most people got used to it over time, so maybe it would be helpful to make the app setup a little simpler. The polls were fun. Great way to connect. Pros I enjoyed the ease of use ahead of the conference. I was able to see who was attending, create polls and set up meetups. I enjoyed seeing how to move up the leaderboard. Cons It wasn't easy to see where some new responses were. The event allowed everyone to socialize and make new friends. Pros The range of activities available for participants. I attended three out of four dance sessions and loved all three. Cons The sleeping accommodations at Georgetown Leavey Bldg. leave much to be desired. They were inexpensive but lacking in quality, especially in the lack of room service. The bed I slept on was incredibly uncomfortable.
