There are many modules to make the experience outstanding for the all that attend. Whova has leaderboards, photo contests, speaker management module, agenda management you can link to your tickets. It also provides you with a front facing website you can land on for your event branding. Pros Whova is excelling in managing the overall conference, from call for speakers to assigning vendor booth locations. It provides you with great communication tools, along with many attendee enhancements. Cons The system is a little pricey, however, based on what you get it has proven to be worth it. The days of tracking attendance by hand on 12 different campus locations is behind us. And, the vendors no longer scream about collecting leads since the App finally read the badge data from their vendor badges. Pros The tech-support person, stayed awake until 3 am to fix all my errors, big relief. I set up the majority of the registration process on my own and it did stay up during the huge crush of people registering. The support didn't bring down the whole program and I thought it would. And it works great as far as sending the correct link to zoom. Cons Exporting all the attendee info into csv is an absolute nightmare. The column names never match and windows always mess up the format. The admin app is almost completely worthless for doing anything but checking in attendees; therefore I had to carry my lap top around the entire building. Review Source SJ Shawn J. Event Manager Events Services Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Whova- who cares?" August 18, 2025 2.0 It was difficult to send customized messages to buyers and register attendees. Whova lacks flexibility and pushes for more sales and self-promotion. The purpose of technology and automation is to save time. Instead, we spent a significant amount of time trying to make the system function properly and addressing problems that our buyers/attendees were having. Pros I was able to reach local support when issues arose, but problems arose often. The system processed all the sales, but that's where the problems started. Cons Required fields were bypassed-creating shipping issues as mailing addresses (which had to be manually added) were not collected. Buyers were not registered as attendees and managing a group of attendees was difficult. The system is not intuitive nor easy to work with. A list of buyers can be downloaded but is not formatted to be imported to send out emails for further instructions. The email options in other cases are canned Whova messages that cannot be edited, and create confusion among event attendees because they're so poorly worded. This is a poorly thought-out system, which is busy trying to do everything but skips the basics. May 26, 2026 5.0 Overall, I have enjoyed my experience with Whova and I wish more large conferences would migrate over. Last year, I sent in a suggestion to the NCJSA-North Carolina Juvenile Services Association-that they take a look at Whova and see where it might help them. That's also an annual, and fairly large, conference I enjoy. I have no way of knowing if they did. I really like all the app opportunities for networking, that it doesn't always happen personally, but still feels personal and like a real connection. Thank you! Pros I really liked the way it set up and managed the conference. I hadn't used it since last year, but it didn't take long to remember the ease of navigation between everything this conference does; so easy to get right back into it. Cons The thing I liked the least about Whova is that some of the titles of the different activities seemed to be two different words for the same thing: I would get quite confused with what the difference was in the following: Icebreakers (I think the questions were fixed to only 4-thought I'd be creating my own), then Polls: I went there and was able to create my own, but I thought I wasn't doing polls, just entering a question where I'd seen more Qs on the app. So, possibly I created a Survey rather than a Poll! I just checked surveys and it took me to Session feedback instead? Some improvements to the app user experience could be improved, but minor. Really just a positive experience and review overall. Pros As an Exhibitor, I like the ability to connect with attendees before and during the event. The ability to post pictures and get different perspectives of everything that went on during the conference was great. Cons I do feel the app has a lot going on and if it could be simplified in some way I would like that. Also I had a tough time access Whova on my laptop. Is there a desktop version of the platform. The open forums and ability to take notes on the app are also amazing! Pros The app is super easy to use. I can find all of the information I need regarding scheduled events/conferences at one easy click. I love also being able to see who else is attending in my direct network as well as other people that might be great to meet. Cons I can't think of anything I didn't like about Whova. Each time, it was easy to navigate, easy to use, and easy to build. I also used them via our national adult education conference. It was a breeze. Pros It is easy to work with and self explanatory. It is clearly labeled, and the support team is there to help when needed. Also, there are videos and offers of tutorials throughout the contract period. Cons It is not too much I can say I like least about Whova. If anything, it would be the cost; however, if you want a quality product, you have to pay the price. I loved how it allowed people to engage with my topic constructively, making discussions more meaningful and interactive. It even contributed to me winning an award for active participation! The personalized templates were uplifting and gave the whole experience a positive, inspiring feel. Beyond the event, Whova helped me build real connections people saw me for who I am, and some even reached out for mentorship, which was humbling since I usually see myself as the one seeking guidance. Truly, Whova is one of the best digital storytelling tools I’ve used. Pros What I liked most about Whova was how it brought everything I needed into one space event schedules, speaker details, live updates, and networking opportunities. The app made it simple to stay on track with sessions while also discovering new ones that matched my interests. I especially enjoyed the community board and networking features, which helped me connect with other participants in meaningful ways P.S i even got to set in person meet ups. It felt like the conversations extended beyond the conference hall, creating a sense of community. Overall, Whova made the entire event experience seamless, engaging, and much more interactive. I think anyone using a new app for the first time can be a bit frustrated by the unfamiliarity and purpose of the layout and features. However, once a person plays around with it a bit, the controls and features become more understandable and useful. Pros I appreciate the familiar layout from one event to the next. It makes navigation much easier! Once I fumbled my way around during the first conference that featured the app, the next was refreshingly familiar and easy to navigate. Cons On the Attendees -> Recommended tab, screen space is wasted on my past employers where I am the only attendee. My primary interest in this section is to connect to other people with similar experiences or interests, so I really don't need to see the categories where I am unique. I was able to organize my schedules and meet-up with potential collaborators thanks to the app. The conference wouldn't be the same without the help provided by Whova app. Pros It is a very complete and intuitive application. To be able to create my own agenda, through the full agenda, was great since it help me to optimize my time and be on the talks and poster's I was interested in. The ability to connect with other ateendes through the chat was also great. Sincerely, my experience at the conference wouldn't have been as good without the app, and this has been one of the best conferences I've been in my life. Cons I can't think of anything that I didn't like. It was helpful at every moment of the experience. As a volunteer during the event, it really helped with supporting activities. Maybe you could have it highlighted and follow the times when the class is over that way you know where you are at in the day with classes? Brings you to the next time and class for that day? Cons It was good if you had purchased the internet package on the cruise but if you didn't it was hard to pull up and wasn't updated. Not really your issue. The desktop component was as seamless as the mobile experience. My conference experience would not have been nearly as optimized without the app as an assistant. Pros The app made it very easy to navigate my conference experience, from selecting/locating breakout rooms, to connecting with attendees for community meet-ups, to exchanging contact information with vendors, presenters and colleagues. Cons The amount of notifcations became overwhelming at times, though a majority of these were attendee-generated. Also, agenda items did not link back to the associated forums. I like that I could remove myself from attendee list if I'd previously signed up for a session but could not make it due to circumstances. Pros Event Management - it was easy to navigate through events, speakers, etc. A lot of the information was present within the App itself which was an unexpected benefit. I could see the speakers and I still use the list of attendees to look up contact information (or even just to remember what they looked like). Pros the skit. it taught me HOW culture/tradition means which is a person lost in addiction, or going down that path, can be reminded, "that is not you, you are an indigenous person with much to live for."
