There are many modules to make the experience outstanding for the all that attend. Whova has leaderboards, photo contests, speaker management module, agenda management you can link to your tickets. It also provides you with a front facing website you can land on for your event branding. Pros Whova is excelling in managing the overall conference, from call for speakers to assigning vendor booth locations. It provides you with great communication tools, along with many attendee enhancements. Cons The system is a little pricey, however, based on what you get it has proven to be worth it. You'd be well served by making the messaging better known... ADD phone notifications! I kept asking people at the conference if they had gotten my message and they had not because they didn't open the app and see it. I'd like it to pop-up as a phone notification. What good is a message sent that isn't seen until way after it's relevant? Pros I like seeing the Event Schedule, picking my events, getting session alerts, seeing the floor plan(map), AND best of all the instant messaging conference and session attendees. Cons Navigation within the phone Graphical User Interface. I felt like I had to look around to find things like the floor layout a lot. What I don't like is this response interface I'm typing into right now. It has, for each box, a minimum number of characters it allows and it shows in in the form of a fraction. I was confused and shortened each of my messages to fall below 100 characters only to come back and have to add back in to make this review process work. Below each box it should state 100 Characters Minimum: (#CharCount). That makes it way easier to understand(intuative). It only explains it after you try to submit... (Minimum of 100 characters not met). Here's my experience. I saw the fraction and I didn't even proceed to read "min." I'm just used to having to fix a response to fit into a limited context, I went into auto-pilot when filling this in. Review Source SJ Shawn J. Event Manager Events Services Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Whova- who cares?" August 18, 2025 2.0 It was difficult to send customized messages to buyers and register attendees. Whova lacks flexibility and pushes for more sales and self-promotion. The purpose of technology and automation is to save time. Instead, we spent a significant amount of time trying to make the system function properly and addressing problems that our buyers/attendees were having. Pros I was able to reach local support when issues arose, but problems arose often. The system processed all the sales, but that's where the problems started. Cons Required fields were bypassed-creating shipping issues as mailing addresses (which had to be manually added) were not collected. Buyers were not registered as attendees and managing a group of attendees was difficult. The system is not intuitive nor easy to work with. A list of buyers can be downloaded but is not formatted to be imported to send out emails for further instructions. The email options in other cases are canned Whova messages that cannot be edited, and create confusion among event attendees because they're so poorly worded. This is a poorly thought-out system, which is busy trying to do everything but skips the basics. Switched from [Eventbrite](https://www.capterra.com/p/114949/Eventbrite/) Event Brite would not allow the buyer of a group of tickets to assign a ticket to their guests. Thanks to generous cousins I stayed in midtown Manhattan and walked a mile to and from the United Nations every day for nine days of the UNCSW70 in March, 2026. Whova kept me attending some of the most meaningful presentations and discussions of my life! Pros Whova allowed me to quickly scan the many side event offerings at the 2026 United Nations Commission on the Status of Women to determine the best use of my time and focus for the nine days of the conference. Whova also provided a direct way to communicate with other attendees, more than 4,600 civil society representatives! Cons I would have liked an Index of the many offerings of the nine days of the UNCSW70. Sometimes I missed events I would have liked to attend! Review Source SN Shawn N. The days of tracking attendance by hand on 12 different campus locations is behind us. And, the vendors no longer scream about collecting leads since the App finally read the badge data from their vendor badges. Pros The tech-support person, stayed awake until 3 am to fix all my errors, big relief. I set up the majority of the registration process on my own and it did stay up during the huge crush of people registering. The support didn't bring down the whole program and I thought it would. And it works great as far as sending the correct link to zoom. Cons Exporting all the attendee info into csv is an absolute nightmare. The column names never match and windows always mess up the format. The admin app is almost completely worthless for doing anything but checking in attendees; therefore I had to carry my lap top around the entire building. Review Source Jonathan W. Cons What I liked least about the Whova app was that certain features could feel slightly overwhelming or cluttered, especially for first-time users. Navigating between management tools, session details, and event updates sometimes required extra steps, which could interrupt the flow of the experience. Sharing knowledge, leadership tools and techniques to improve performance. It also allowed the planners to manage the flow of the conference and support topics that had more relevance. Cons Whova had the potential to keep me "too glued to my screen" since I am an individual that likes to manage and balance my work-life commitment. March 24, 2026 5.0 Excellent! It was easy and fun to connect with others who were attending the conference and it was easy to find where my favorite sessions and speakers would be. Making speakers and topics searchable on the app was a brilliant idea that greatly enhanced my ability to select the sessions I would attend! Pros The Whova badges were excellent - the print was large and an easy to read font and color, the badges facilitated the rapid sharing of contact information - which is usually a challenge at conference environments. I have recommended my organization use these badges at our own event. Cons The Whova badges allow the conference attendee to toggle through schedules and to view additional information, however it moves slower than what is optimal. That latency with the app is easily overcome by using the Whova app which is the best app I have see for summits anywhere. Review Source Dan J. I loved how it allowed people to engage with my topic constructively, making discussions more meaningful and interactive. It even contributed to me winning an award for active participation! The personalized templates were uplifting and gave the whole experience a positive, inspiring feel. Beyond the event, Whova helped me build real connections people saw me for who I am, and some even reached out for mentorship, which was humbling since I usually see myself as the one seeking guidance. Truly, Whova is one of the best digital storytelling tools I’ve used. Pros What I liked most about Whova was how it brought everything I needed into one space event schedules, speaker details, live updates, and networking opportunities. The app made it simple to stay on track with sessions while also discovering new ones that matched my interests. I especially enjoyed the community board and networking features, which helped me connect with other participants in meaningful ways P.S i even got to set in person meet ups. It felt like the conversations extended beyond the conference hall, creating a sense of community. Overall, Whova made the entire event experience seamless, engaging, and much more interactive. Pros I liked that it was easy to use, and all the functionality. The home page/dashboard was simple, the buttons for the different areas were clear and easy to use. The prompts that were present I think encouraged participation which is always a good thing at a conference. I also LOVED how easy it was to RSVP to sessions and to see the capacity of the sessions before walking in. Cons I didn't have anything that stood out as a con to using Whova. It would have been nice to have a section in the description that allowed the uploading of documents instead. I liked being able to share photos from the conference and see others' pictures of their experiences. I was able to network with many great individuals and take notes during many great sessions. Pros The ability to network with all attendees who attended the 10th National Farm to Cafeteria Conference 2025. I was able to take notes directly through the app and email them to myself. Cons There was no ability to check in to the event for registration of the event field trip Tours. This caused a chaotic line of hundred of participants during the Tours Days. Pros I love being able to create my agenda, read about the sessions and speakers, locate my sessions, etc. I also love to be able to communicate and connect with other attendees as well as review the different exhibitors and their location in at the event. Cons I think easier connectivity with email and copying notes directly to Word or text could be improved. I was able to do it, but I had to play around with it a bit to copying notes. I also found it particularly helpful when looking for a vendor and being able to click on their booth space and having the map show their location. Pros As an attendee, Whova was very user friendly and I was able to tailor make my agenda from the overall agenda. The event management was so helpful. It made my scheduling of speaker sessions I wanted to see and meet up meetings very efficient. Cons I had a little bit of learning curve but not much. After I clicked on all of the options and looked at them things got a lot easier. Also, not everyone was using this tool as it was new. I loved the Hi and Message area where I could have 2 attempts are reaching out - one simple the other more targeted to my "Why" - got a lot of responses yay! Pros Love it! Its THE most usable app I have used during a 15 year event attendance as a vendor. Like having another pair of hands to help rather than the normal apps where you have lots of work to do outwith - Whova does it all - 2 areas for intro - one simple Hi to intro with a message to push a broader view of what you offer. Cons I wouldnt really say theres anything I least liked about Whova - I would just say if you can keep refining why would anyone want to use anything else.
