Choose someone else to be your provider. Their system is more of a hassle than it's worth, and it's expensive. It's a lose, lose.

Pros

Not everything about Bunk1 was awful. We used them for years, and ultimately they were useful for tracking applicants, keeping historical data on old attendees, and were even a bit better at tracking trip attendance than our current database.

Cons

It is SO overly complicated! I literally had to keep a sprawling multipage document on how to run specific reports, like attendee contact information, or trip attendance, or session attendance, etc. Nothing about running reports was intuitive, and often it would take an hour to figure out how to run a new report, or more likely, give up and email them on how to do it, then add the instructions to my insane word doc. Rollover for each year also felt like pulling teeth. You definitely needed to hop on a call with a representative to get it done. I was actually shocked the first year we started using new software and I...could just do it on my own! No external support needed, because it wasn't a convoluted process. At one point, we tried to make our forms digital with Bunk1 (previously, we had just been doing pdf/word registration forms, and I was hoping to get us into the digital age) but creating our forms with Bunk1 was, once again, much more of a pain than it was worth to us. When they cut back their support for the database and started charging more for the service, we finally decided it was time to cut our losses and find a new database for our attendees. I am so relieved we made the change, as my work life got ten times easier without having to deal with Bunk1's clunky services.

I was an adult camper for a weekend experience. After the camp was over I wanted to see what photos were taken. I tried searching for my camp number and could find no photos of myself, or fellow campers. I contacted support and was told the only way I can view the photos was to pay for them. Why would you require me to pay for something before I can even view them? How do I know that any of the photos of me came out or were satisfactory to me? When I inquired if they would refund my money if I did not download any photos, I was told they would not refund my money. What a SCAM! Before I could ask any follow up questions, the ticket was closed. I received an email asking to rate my experience and when I tried to provide feedback I received a message that I could not provide feedback because the ticket was closed. They may be responsive to inquiries, but they do not want feedback, they do not want to change. Overall, I feel they are a scam. A reputable business does not require you to pay for something site unseen. They do not require you to pay for photos they took before you can view them. If their concern is people acquiring the photos without paying, there are ways to deter that from happening. As an experienced IT professional, I would gladly assist them in bringing their software into the present, making it user friendly, provide a better user experience, allow people to view the photos and then decide if they want to purchase them. They need to pay me in advance

Pros

For the most part, the support person is responsive.

Cons

1) This app is a relic. It presents, functions, works like an app from the early days of the Internet 20 + years ago. It is not user friendly, there is no ability to effectively filter searches, is not inherently intuitive, and is extremely basic. The development was minimalist at best. 2) Per their Customer Support team, the ONLY way you can view the photos is to pay in advance. And there are NO refunds.

Very positive. The parents have good things to say about their experience as users. And as an admin its very user friendly as well to select the settings I want.

Pros

Parents can write a note to their child away at camp and select to receive a reply back. They can view those replies in the app or in their email. The photo software is also a plus. There's facial recognition, and privacy settings we can put in place so only the parents related to that program or campers will be able to see them. There's also the open option if we want everyone to be able to view it. Customer service picks up the phone instead of an automated system. If a message has to be left they call back very quickly.

Cons

Not able to tag an individual manually. Would like the option to select which bundle for which child online. So the youngest can have the most expensive one but the older child just a basic option. They'll do this if called but can't do it on the portal.

Better scheduling and happy parents who can communicate with their campers.

Pros

The scheduling software is quick and intuitive. It has help us cut down on the time that our program team needs to spend scheduling campers. Our parents love the software for the ability to communicate with the campers.

Cons

Parents sometimes get lost when they think they have to buy things to see pictures. This can cause them to be turned off from the program and not want to proceed. This often requires a level of communication from the camp to explain how the program works.

Pros

We have really enjoyed the software it's so easy to use and I really enjoyed setting up with my team can't wait to use it for a long time

Cons

The training was good but could be a little bit better in some areas but other than that I really enjoyed it and really can't think of anything else negative to say about it

We get a percentage of the amount parents spend which is nice and parents these days really like to have some sort of communication when their child is away for a week.

Pros

It is easy to set up, get the word out to our campers and used each summer! Parents seem to like it as well.

Cons

Sometimes there have been some hiccups and we've gotten bunk notes for kids not attending our camp but I notified out account rep and she got it fixed right away.

Staying connected with my child while she was away from home for an extended period of time. Great way to capture some experiences, moments, and friendships that she will cherish from her time at camp.

Pros

It was easy to use and fun to send messages to her throughout her stay at camp. She seemed to enjoy receiving messages, pictures, etc. She was even able to reply to us, occasionally. What a fun way to share information throughout the time she was away and help ease our worries that she may have been homesick.

Cons

It's a little expensive and sometimes there were delays in getting the pictures uploaded or her receiving her messages. Although I understand they are at camp and enjoying their time. It would be great to see them as the week progresses so the messages may reflect some activities that they recently participated in.

Friendly service. Great reports.

Pros

Once you figure it out and know how to make it do what you want it to do, it's extremely easy and incredible. Reports are wonderful. It's easy to export them into excel, pdf's, etc. I enjoy dealign with bunk1 as their customer service is A+. Bunk1 staff wants what is best for my organization and that means a whole, whole lot.

Cons

I am not extremely intelligent technologically, so I struggle with generating some reports which stinks but bunk1 is always available to help me. I would love to be able to see a history of my sign ups?? Does that make sense? I would love to be able to click a couple of buttons today and see how many campers (and who) were signed up for Summer 2018 by November 15th, 2017. (and then I would love to be able to do that in November 2020 to see how many I had on Nov 15 for the past x years) Does that make sense? I would also love if reports could automatically be generated every x days regarding y materials. It would be wonderful if that report could then be emailed to me every x days.

Pros

The software has a ton of features, which is useful as we try and break down and compare different aspects of camp. We also find that our parents find it easy to use and navigate, which is a huge plus on our end.

Cons

It takes a bit of trial and error with reports, but our account representative is so responsive and helpful, that we are always able to quickly get the results we want.

Pros

Bunk1 has made it really easy for us to post photos for our camper families, as well as a simple way to send emails. We love them!

Cons

Sometimes it can take a while to upload photos, though that is likely related to our internet connection and not to the software.
