### "If you don't need integration with an external app, this is the best time tracker I've seen"

Response time of MyHours is amazing. You click, it starts. Some other software are simply too slow to process information or start tasks and I'm always wondering if the task timer has started or not. Also, this UI actually incites you to take notes which is never something you do naturally because, at that moment, you KNOW what you are working on. However, two months down the line, when the client says "what is this 4h30 log there ??", you can respond clearly "Oh you called me and you procrastinated for hours before making a decision, that's why it took so long dude !" :))

Pros

\- Its user interface is pretty, fast-reacting, intuitive. It takes no time to understand how it works. - You can assign the same task to various projects, which is pretty cool : the fact that I have several projects where the same tasks apply (I manage a client's clients and for each of them, I have translations, website audit, profile analysis to do... So it's great to create the task once and for all and assign it to each sub-client). - With the invoicing feature, you can see immediately what's been invoiced, what's to be invoiced. As a freelancer, this is great as you don't necessarily invoice all your clients at the end of a month. Some yes, but some are invoiced at the end of a project. No looking around, exports, calculations, to see who needs to be invoiced. - Because of how it's set up, unless you are really not focused, it's pretty impossible to have logs that don't correspond to a project and a client. My previous time tracking softwares were leaving me with unidentified logs that kept me wondering for hours on what project / task I worked three weeks ago, at 1.21am !! :) I ended up deleting logs because I had no clue if it was a mistake or a real work log... - You can set up hourly rates per task or per project or per team member. That comes in handy because, in my case, I have different clients that I charge differently. And within the same client, I also have different rates depending on the project. - Pricing is spot on.

Cons

Liking "least" is not how I would define it... I would say there is room for improvement in a couple of areas that are, right now, not critical for me (but might be for others): - No integration (that I know of) with productivity software / project management software (Asana, Basecamp, Monday, Slack, Airtable, etc...). For some, it will prove a bit wasteful to have tasks in those apps and to have to repeat them in MyHours. - Filtering is limited. For example, I have two clients that are close partners and even though I invoice them separately, projects are intertwined. I need to group those two clients together when I report and analyze time spent on projects. Right now, I can only filter one client at a time and I would appreciate filter where you can multiple select. - Like all time trackers I know, MyHours also doesn't provide a really great to have feature : providing a read only view for clients of logs applying to them. For example, one of my clients for whom I work on a daily basis needs to know my "count" for the month at any given time, so he knows if he can give me more work or not, since we are on an hours package basis... Having a permanent URL where he can check on his own where I'm at and what I've worked on and how long would avoid time wasted for him asking me and time wasted for me telling him :)

Reason for choosing My Hours

I imported my logs into Harvest but there was a mistake with the date format and all ended up being a mess. I wanted to delete all those old logs and re-import and was never able to do that, even with admin rights. I suppose it's possible to do it, I guess, but after 30 minutes of looking in vain, I thought that it was a pretty bad start so I decided to give up and look for something else. Glad I did, that's how I found MyHours !

I had a lot of logs without clients, without projects and I wouldn't be warned until I was doing my invoicing and couldn't remember what I was doing. Lately the product became very unstable and I wasted hours just trying to start tracking and ended up tracking on my book with a pen... Frustrating. Overall, Tracking Time had way more filtering options where you could end up producing any report of any data, which was really cool but, at the end of the day, what you need is a very reactive time tracking software, which it was no longer.

### "Streamlined Time Tracking and Billing"

I use this software daily (and all day, at that) both at home and when I'm working from the road. I cannot recommend it enough for tracking where I spend my time for my clients and what I need to invoice them at the end of each month.

Pros

MyHours was the first system I found that let me really customize my solution the way that I wanted and needed it for my own tracking. I love the fact that I can have clients with different rates, team members with different rates, multiple projects for clients, and tasks under those projects. It's incredible the amount of customization on such an easy-to-navigate product.

Cons

In some ways, it has too many features for my small business and it took me a bit longer to set up my own preferred flow of clients / projects / tasks. But, huge caveat, when I set it up, I was only testing it out and didn't think about future use. If I had planned out my implementation with long-term use in mind, it probably would not have taken me nearly as long to do this part.

As a small business with only a handful of clients, it's vitally important for me to know how much time I'm actually spending on a project. I've tried various time-tracking tools and My Hours is, by far, the best value of the bunch: Just the right amount of functionality without too many complications, and at a fair cost. I've recommended it to others on several occasions.

Pros

My Hours is an affordable, simple system to track time for anyone or any organization that works by the hour. I started with it as an individual and it was a great tool for helping me improve my estimates and increase profitability of the work I took on. I've since expanded it to a small team, and it's my main resource for time management and substantiating client invoices.

Cons

There are a few issues, such as the selector window shuts down when you reach the bottom of a list - so if you're just a little bit heavy on the mouse and miss the right moment to click, you end up having to go back and re-select the client/project etc. Also, a recent change in the way reports work has forced me to change the way I do billing. I find it frustrating but no more so than the unanticipated changes every online service provider makes from time to time.

I have been enjoying using my hours. It's a great tool as a self-employed professional to keep track of how much time I spend on each project.

Pros

Easy to use interface. Straight-forward reporting. Affordable pricing. Great customer service.

Cons

When I add a new project from the "time log" menu, it doesn't give the option to add pricing with it. I have to go back to the list of projects later and update the pricing there. I also really wish they had a "dark mode" available.

Very smooth, some updates have been done the last couple of months that have improved stability. Now it does exactly what I need. Free plan is perfect for me as a 1 man company.

Pros

As a solopreneur this is the perfect simple solution for hour tracking. No unnecessary additions that make it difficult to use, but exactly what you need.

Cons

Sometimes syncing between devices is slow or you need to reboot the page/app.

As a self employed consultant, one of the hardest things to do is accurately track hours and projects for my clients. Or at least it was until I started using My Hours. Very easy to set up and easier to use, it makes one of the more burdensome tasks a snap. I cannot do my job without it.

Pros

Ease of use. So simple to move from client to client and project to project.

Cons

I have several contracts that are project based. I need to track my hours but I do not need track a $/hour. There is a work around but this seems like a fix that should happen sooner rather than later.

The user experience is great! Simple to use, delivers what it offers. The freemium is great and for many more than enough. Also good to organise yoour time and keep track of what you've been doing during the week. Good to follow up with the customers and say this is what's been done this week/month.

Pros

The fact that you can create customers, activities and tags that then you can easily filter on the analytics works very well for me. Also the Week view where you can see all the activities and also the stopwatch option to track activities on the go.

Cons

Haven't found one yet to be honest. Some times when starting a new week in the view week, I have to reorganise all the activities from previous weeks (I can copy them but then cannot modify without modifying the previous weeks).

I looked at several free apps and tried a few. This one was so easy to get up and running. And to customize to suit your needs is a plus. Free version is just right for my needs.

Pros

Easy to set up to work the way you need it. I wanted to switch to military time and this was available. The tasks feature works well if needed. Great you have the ability to see on daily view or weekly. this helps when filling in my timesheet at the end of the week.

Cons

I accidentally deleted a couple days of hours and couldn't find a way to recover. I'm using their free version so maybe available in their paid version.

I really enjoy using this product. One of my clients just started using another app for their contract employees, which is very similar to My Hours, but I have no intention of changing. My Hours is the perfect app for my needs.

Pros

It's easy to use, customizable to your needs, and the reports are very robust. The customer service is very helpful and timely. I initially used another product but am so glad I changed to this one.

Cons

I have not found anything that I do not like, however, I am the only one using it. I do not have a team that I need to manage.

I find that it's much easier to provide a time sheet to my client, and I like the layout and the reporting function of My Hours. I'm now considering to upgrade my free plan so I can utilise the time budget feature.

Pros

There is so much value in the Free plan. It's easy to use, and I like the layout.

Cons

I would love a desktop app for Mac please. Sometimes I forget to stop the timer on the browser. I'm afraid I don't like using the app on my phone as I find my phone distracting when I'm at work so rather not have to touch the phone.

Pros

I like that it's easy to use and mostly user friendly. Being able to use tags is paramount for me, as I like to categorize my projects, so that I can give more accurate pricing quotes to my clients.

Cons

Features I'd love to see:-I wish there was a feature to input how long you've worked on a project (when making backlogs) in decimals (like if I could input "3.15" instead of "3 hours, 9 minutes". I can calculate it out, but that obviously takes me much longer)-When ticking off tasks, I'd love if the tasks added up to 100% and you could see a meter/circle of how much you've completed as you tick things off!-I'd love to be able to have projects be BOTH billable and non-billable, but still with the "project-based rate" setting.The following are for the DETAILED REPORTS feature (which is honestly my favorite feature):-I wish there was an option to click "all time" instead of manually going to the right year I started to now.-I wish the page kept my settings instead of reverting to default every time. I like to keep the tags visible, but I hate having to go into the settings and change that every time I need it.-With the tags, I'd love to toggle an option between "any of the chosen tags" and "all of the chosen tags". Sometimes I need to deepen or further specify my search, but I'm unable to have the parameter that the search results need to match ALL of the tags rather than any of them.

Reason for choosing My Hours

I loved the tagging functionality. I also love that the free version is SUPER functional. As a small business owner, I don't have much funds for programs like this, so I need to keep things as cheap as possible.

Overall I find it easy to log in to MyHours at the start of my work day and to jump between tasks. I rely on the reporting to complete my company monthly timesheet which insists on me entering a % of my time spent on each project and task.

Pros

\- Easy to start and stop time recording - Ability to continue tracking time of tasks from earlier in the day or week - ability to report the % of my monthly time spent at both project and task level

Cons

\- in Dashboard report, no way to display a column for % time for tasks inside each project. (I have requested this feature multiple times but you are ignoring me!) The dashboard bar charts DO show % but the table below listing tasks and projects does not and cannot be customized. My employer needs % time use on each task, and currently I need to manually calculate! - in the latest UI, the 'Start new' button starts recording time against an 'empty' record. I am forced to open it and add details. What I want it to do is exactly the same as the '+ Add time log' button. That is, open the editor for me to enter Project, task, etc, and only start recording time when I click the blue 'Add time log' button. - - in the latest UI, when I '+ Add time log' , I want the editor to close immediately after I click the blue 'Add time log' button, to save space of the screen. (It is unlikely users want to add multiple time logs one after the other.) - in the latest UI, the blue 'Add time log' button (below the editor) should be renamed "Add and Start" to make it obvious that time recording will start. - the 'Favorite log' feature is non-intuitive and clunky. Suggest adding a simple 'star' icon to each task which I can click to make it a favorite. OR on the Edit time log dialog, add a 'star' icon I can click - when I 'Add a favourite time log', I want the editor to close immediately, to save space of the screen. (It is unlikely users want to add multiple favorites one after the other.)

Overall, my experience has been good with the exception of the customer service interaction - providing a poor excuse for the lack if functionality - and the extra time required to create, export and then combine Activity Reports into Invoice PDFs.

Pros

The app is super easy to setup, launch and provides options for various billing rates and billing increments (on the paid plans). The interface is fairly intuitive and nicely laid out.

Cons

There is currently no way to show the details of time billed, when creating invoices. So, you can create an invoice that shows one line item and a total.. which is a huge oversight. Most clients require greater detail of time billed - eg what tasks were completed or milestones met - during a billing cycle. Showing specific activity, for hours being billed, is of prime importance to paying customers. The only alternative is to create a separate Activity Report AND an Invoice, and attach or combined the Activity Report to the Invoice PDF. The response I received from Customer Support was that 'My Hours is not an accounting application. It is a top time tracking application that offers simple invoicing.' A poor excuse to say the least. If you are going to include a feature that allows the tracking of details for time billed, allow an option to include that, or not, in the invoice. It really isn't that difficult - I say this as an owner, and long time professional, of a design and development group.

The customer support is great - whether it is the forms and resources of the live chat. Also the general setup, features, details is awesome and I would be totally lost without it.

Pros

Ease of setting up a client or project, and editing a project, tasks, or reporting. Customizable reports at all levels of detail.

Cons

There are a few "nice to have" features which are not currently available: including the ability to scope an employee to a certain total hours and target utilization rates, and then to be able to see via AI or reports, how many more hours they could take on in a given week or month.

Reporting, level of detail, customized Hours or Budget allocations, price, UI/UX, easy to use and implement.

It's been great. I have been very happy since purchasing this product and the amount I've saved in ensuring proper billing has more than covered the cost of purchasing My Hours.

Pros

Tracking time is an ongoing struggle for our company as we do billable hours and need to track everything, down to the minute. My Hours allows us to quickly and easily enter our projects and tasks on the go, save our all worked hours, set if it's billable, and report on all tasks on a daily, monthly, and weekly basis. Having the ability to track by the minute has ensured that we do not lose out on any possible billings.

Cons

The only feature I wish it had was that we could track multiple tasks at a time per user. We often run an update for a client that runs in the background as we work on other tasks. Having this feature would save us time in having to duplicate our own tracking.

I love it. I'm recommend it to our new freelancers all the time to track their hours and give them quick tours.

Pros

The software is so easy to use and is visually easy to read and isn't over built to overcomplicate things. I'm able to enter my time quickly and run reports and be in and out of the software in no time to make my life easier.

Cons

There could be a lot of improvement around the favorites. I would like to see filters, be able to reorder them to something other than when entered, and be able to edit with out deleting and re-creating. Having a synch with calendars for easier meeting time tracking would be amazing as well.

Reason for choosing My Hours

I looked at and tried several different softwares when picking out a time tracker and MyHours was by far the easiest to use and had the most capabilities in the free version and pricing is very reasonable for upgrading to paid.

My Hours is far-and-away the best fit I have found for my particular requirements. Competing products that I looked at were extremely bloated with inadequate task and project management. The interface is clean and functional and not weighted down with features I would never use. It is difficult to find a site (app?) for a given purpose that hasn't tried to be everything to everybody. My Hours has focused their attention on time logging and has done it extremely well (at least for my particular use case).

Pros

Time logging itself is extremely easy to use and the interface suits the way I want to use it well. Support is excellent and they always address my questions and suggestions in a very timely fashion. Their focus is on time logging and the service is not cluttered with features I will never use.

Cons

My work is predominately freelance. I get paid through quite a few different channels and frequently have to log my time again in other systems. My Hours is a little too designed towards being the inclusive source for invoicing. Generating reports of all time worked for a given client so that I can provide an activity report is a bit cumbersome and unfortunately, I do not completely trust their accuracy as filter options often reset themselves and there were issues early on when certain activity was excluded without it being clear that it was. To their credit though they have continually worked on the reports and they are much better.

...has a track, is traceable, even the tiny bits and pieces that where lost before. Just because it is so easy and fast to understand and use. Besides the fact that it has "added" to our billable hours it improved and sped up our invoicing as well. Less time is used for administrative, non billable hours!

Pros

...is in its place and intuitively at hand when needed. New members to the team know how to use MyHours within minutes!

Cons

...is there but a Gantt, maybe that could be added at some point (although it is not the core functionality). It is just the one and only thing that is missing for all our project work and management.

Pros

I run a law office (solo practice) and like the real time nature of the software. I can easily enter a new client and project and continue with detail about the task at hand seamlessly.

Yes, the activity reports could be more legible. The small font is difficult for my clients to read.

My Hours has made my time tracking a breeze. It's also helped speed up my monthly invoicing no end. As an editor and copywriter, I have to keep accurate records of how much time I spend on each job. This is crucial for billing and for calculating project fees. My Hours is such a handy and reliable tool, I'd recommend it to anyone.

Pros

The reports are super easy to produce and are professional enough to share with clients. I love the way I can swap between clients, projects and tasks.

Cons

Some of my clients are invoiced in euros, others in dollars. Would be nice if I could set a currency for each client.

With constant interruptions from children, pets, and spouse, I felt that I was working 8 hours, but I was only getting about 2 hours work done. With this program, I was able to give my family a visual report about how much time I was actually getting to work at one time. Once they understood how their interruptions were interfering with my workday, they were more understanding of my time and started backing off during work hours.

Pros

I can track my hours according to client, project, and task. I can create reports based on days, weeks, or months or based on client, project, or task. If I need a report that I cannot figure out how to create, I can download all the data to my hard drive and fiddle with it in Excel. I love this software because I can do almost everything I need to do with a keyboard shortcut. My favorite thing, though, is the ease with which it tracks my hours and lets me know how much time I spent actually working today.

Cons

Some of the reports are difficult to figure out how to create, though I do usually get there eventually. Also, I don't have a way to sort according to the Notes, so I had to create separate tasks for each chapter, so I'd know how much time I was spending on specific chapters.

Pros

I love the ease of use and how it allows me to manage and keep track of time working on various projects and tasks for many different clients. This software is ESSENTIAL in keeping my business running in an organized way and allowing me to bill people with ease.

Cons

I wish I could customize the invoices and add branding to them so they were more personalized to my brand. I have actually considered leaving myhours for other programs that allow me to do that because branding is a huge part of my business.

Reason for choosing My Hours

The ability to add various clients and tasks and assign different billing rates AND create invoices and track payments all in one place was imperative to my business.

Our old time recording system ceased to be supported so we had to find a new one. We looked at lots of alternatives and ran a new one for almost a year but it was dreadful. Lots of systems want to manage your whole practice rather than just log time so finding My Hours was a real relief. We run it alongside Xero and our CRM both of which we didn’t want to change. Apart from niggles as above this has been a great system for us.

Pros

It’s great to be able to log time as you work, whether in the office or in the move. I’m sure being easy to do so means we capture more chargeable hours than we did using our old (very annoying) system.

Cons

Overall this is a great product but I have a few niggles which I hope might get sorted out. I don’t like that time is logged to the second rather than whole minutes or nearest 5 minutes - it makes us look money grabbing. Not being able to set up a new chargeable project without having to go into a more detailed screen is annoying and no longer having a link back to the time record from a time report is slowing us down. I don’t like the time report layout as you have to look for the client name and project name - our old original system included a header with this detail which made for better client presentation.

Reason for choosing My Hours

Ease of time entry; stopwatch based; easy to see unbilled time; easy to start work on a new project (although we do have a niggle here), good value, Cloud based, free trial so you can have a taste of what you’re getting.0
