This software is great to use for entry-level positions and it's good to use in conjunction with other ATS.

Cons

The search functionality can improve and does not have a search component for exempt level candidates.

Cons

Candidates don't generally use careerbuilder anymore. Jobs here need to be picked up by an aggregrator in order to be relevant.

Overall, if you are desperate for a role this seems like the job board to go to. It is not high tech and super user friendly like others of its kind, but does have a large database of candidates

Pros

There seem to be more resumes on this site than others Ability to easily post a new position Supply and demand tool is very helpful as a sales strategy

Cons

Compared to other job boards resumes tend to be outdated Additionally, with the new update they recently rolled out, it is very hard to email more candidates than one at a time

Good for applicant sourcing, wouldn’t recommend for anything else though.

Pros

I loved the ability to search candidates and source to reach out to potential applicants. Not too costly either.

Cons

Applicant pool was very light, and it was rare I found qualified candidates.

Overall, with so many options to use for Applicant tracking, I would not choose CB.

Pros

I appreciated finding different candidates that I had not previously found on Linked In.

Cons

\- Candidates rarely fit the description. - You can not save messages that you can use again. - Candidates in search are often outdated, it seemed to count someone logging in as being an active candidate when they clearly were not. - Search function brought up not so great results.

Over the years, career builder has updated their design of the application which all feels more intuitive and looks very clean/crisp.

Cons

Honestly one of my least favorite aspects of career builder are the amount of spammy job postings that seem to be a higher percentage of postings compared to other software. These jobs do not build careers often, and drive applicants away from the site

We posted positions to find candidates and kept racking applicants.

Pros

Ease of posting jobs to find qualified candidates. Seems like there was enough response from candidates.

Cons

Terrible customer service! When we elected to pause the service, we were still charged, even though we had documentation that we elected not to have the service. It ended up being a nasty fight with disputing charges, etc.

Pros

I like how they categorize all job industries and also categorizing jobs by state. The "career advice" option also helps if you want to read some tips on job hunting.

Cons

The filter function is not always accurate. I keep on receiving emails that are not my field of profession. Not enough job recommendations.

When you're inundated with applications, and want an easy way to organize them, this application is tops. It allows you to segregate your best candidates, and essentially is a lifeline as one wades through the large stream of resume data. In the past, I have attempted to use Excel and Access to manage resume data, and have found Careerbuilder's product to be much better.

Pros

The flow of data, from application to consideration, is easy to use and keeps lots of resume data easily organized.

Cons

It's more expensive to use this software than with an ERP system.
