Manger Accounting Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Great for Audit Clients" February 17, 2020 5.0 Transfer and tracking of client requests has been greatly improved. We have received information more quickly from clients and in an electronic format that allows us to complete work remotely if necessary. When implemented correctly with clients, turnaround time on our audit work has significantly decreased. Pros The software makes it easy to securely receive audit requests from clients as well as internally track outstanding items and provide team updates. Cons The only down side is when clients are unwilling to adopt or do not possess the technical capabilities to use the software to its full potential. Review Source JJ Justin J. Suralink is easy for clients to use. They know specifically what requests are outstanding. The tool keeps both parties accountable in real time. Realtime updates for status are also very helpful and help to minimize emails and automate the sharing of documents. Overall it is the best solution to share documents with clients in an efficient, effective and secure way. Cons Have not received any negative feedback from other users or clients. It also does a good job of organizing the files in categories Pros Its ease of use and the intuitiveness of it all. There is very little that I need to explain to the client when I invite them to the engagement Cons I honestly can't think of anything right now. It also is a great secure way to share documents along with staying organized Pros It is easy to use. You can customize how you would like. Helps with organization Cons The other side of the Suralink cannot create requests. If someone uploads a folder it just dumps it all in instead of keeping it in that one folder. I try to utilize it whenever I have a large project that I need a lot of information from clients to complete. I have found it is great for all types of engagements not just audits. Pros It is the easiest way to keep track of request relating to the audit and it is extremely easy for client to utilize and understand. I like how it is a secure way to exchange sensitive information. The best feature is the ability to provide the client with what was provided in prior years so they have something to reference. Cons I haven't had any negative experiences or see any downfalls to the software. It may be good to add a way for client's to add requests for items they expect from the firm. Cons I hate that the symbol for the user/admin is a tie - why is that? the grad class for accounting is +50% women. Shouldn't this logo be a dress? or even better- can you use something gender-neutral? Second - exporting an open item list could be used way more but it is not clean. I also like how we can set engagements as inactive until it's ready for the client users to use and also that it tracks the activity on which user downloaded, etc. Cons What I like least about the software is the import process. Just I wish there was some other features to put/upload the files we receive through email from our clients in the Suralink. Pros Suralink is easy to use. I also like the way that we can communicate with the other party and it shows the times we sent or received a file. Pros Everything about it is streamlined and extremely easy to use. No learning curve at all. Clients love that they can take care of all requests in the same place. All of our clients are able to log in with no issues or outside training needed. The email notifications ensure that all parties are aware of outstanding items and new items ready for download. It has greatly improved file management and clients have really enjoyed it as well! With everything being in one place, it makes it so much easier for my team and for the client. Pros The drag and drop feature for uploading files. Cons The rollforward feature doesn't really help much if there are dates that need to be updated. Then this becomes a manual process. It's had a huge impact on my daily work and it has helped immensely in an area of my job that has always been very tedious and filled with redundancy. Pros I love that this software allows for two-way communication between an auditor and their client regarding the status of PBC requests. It's a huge advantage to enable both parties to see the status of items both individually, and in total. Cons I don't like that I cannot set email alerts for specific folders within an engagement. As an auditor, we use folders to divide areas of the audut, and not everyone needs to be in the know about items in every folder. Pros This web based portal provides ease for clients and auditors to review items, leave comments and provide requested documents by dragging and dropping the files in the portal. Cons The inability to number the categories such that our perceived first category cannot be moved to the top of the list. In our case the general / planning ends up at the bottom of the display. February 17, 2020 5.0 Suralink helps to make audits more efficient and keeps the whole team on the same page with the client as to what is outstanding and what tasks have been complete. I especially think that the "due date" feature and the ability to comment on specific requests is helpful and cuts down on the number of emails and phone calls back and forth. Pros This software adds increased audit efficiencies via the ability to easily indicate to clients what is outstanding and which tasks have been completed. The ability to send comments on specific requests also reduces the number of email correspondence. Pros Very simple for the client to see what needs to still be delivered. The files are sorted in such a simple way. I think it is nice that everyone can track the engagement well and it is easy to export the list to send to the client in a status update Cons The client struggles to know how to change between engagements, they don't know about the took.
