It is user friendly and allows our company to record the information quickly, accurately and compliantly. Pros I like working with the MasterControl team to enhance the product and add improvements on a continuous basis. The team really listens to customer feedback and integrates it into their release schedule. Cons I think that the reporting using Insights can be improved to allow different attributes to work better with each other. They continue to expand functionality and build implement customer requests. Pros The user interface is code free to build master templates (batch records). Users get instant feedback when tolerances are exceeded. When customer support is needed, they use a good priority system to resolve problems in a timely manner. Many items were solved the same day. Cons We benefited greatly from a 120-day go live map from kickoff to implementation. Do not try to implement by yourself. Use subject matter experts to help configure the first couple records so your team can see how to build for success. " August 5, 2025 5.0 My experience has been very positive. It is nice to not have to worry about handwriting and spilling IPA on the paperwork or having pages of batch records lost. When a page goes missing that causes us to have to destroy the batch since we are not able to verify that information. Pros Mx has been great to streamline our production paperwork. We do not have to print and review and autoclave our batch records in order to start production. Given we do not have to spend that time, we are able to start production quicker maximizing our time in the cleanroom. Mx also helps to minimize corrections and errors the technicians may make compared to handwriting each entry. It also helps to save time and make the review process easier since there is not the hassle of trying to decipher handwriting and tracking people down for corrections. Cons The system itself is great, however, it takes a while to build each template and put it through the testing process. This is a company issue though but is starting to ease up due to hiring extra Mx builders to assist in getting more templates available for the production environment. Review Source JM Jonathan M. Cons Minor inconveniences with building, but overall very good. These things are extremely niche use case for specific records that workaround scan be made for. Pros It's easy to use, it also makes it simple to create and store documents. Master Controls customer support is also quick and reliable. Cons It takes awhile to train everyone on how to use it correctly, the search feature could also be better, if you don't know the exact document number or title of the document you are searching for it can be hard to locate. The operators love using Mx and dread when there is early phase work that pushes them back to paper processes. Pros Love how the module has streamlined our processes and made the training integration seamless. Has drastically reduced the time and buden reviewing final batch records. Production likes the ease of use, the capture of who did a step and when enhances compliance, good documentation practices errors were immediately eliminated and auditors love the transparency and quick response time to see a requested record. Pros Implementing electronic batch records helped us to streamline our processes and minimize operator errors. It also shortened our record review time considerably. Cons The data lake refresh time is too long for any real-time reporting in Insights. Also, when to use tags is rather confusing. Both the system and the vendor, every aspect of the brand is fantastic. Pros One of the best things about Mx is it user friendly user interface. Being able to easily execute, have automated calculations, sign-offs, data projections is fantasitic for our end users. Cons There are some features that are not there yet but one of the features i wish was there, the cascading calculation. Where a numerical value is subtracted from a dynamic value capture. Pros I like the reduction of paper records and not having to distribute controlled copies to different departments. Cons Being able to add custom features and integrations is one of the biggest challenges right now. This would be a great enhancement. Now producing out US records in less that one week, down from 10+. Cons All the updates to make with V2 update, but pleased in the long run. Given that is saas, we don’t have to worry about deployments or local servers Cons it does not provide SQL access to extract data. Learning how to build our records within MX took a small learning curve, but once you build one, you are on your way! Pros The ability to use system features to prevent human error from occurring. It is also nice to configure records to notify users via email when certain steps are completed (i.e. failing result, OOS result). Cons Lack of reporting capabilities. Pros The Mx configuration is very flexible and can be easily adapt to our company processes. Also the development of new features are in good speed, I see new things coming up quickly and very useful. Cons Since our company run production 24 hours a day, the stable performance is really the key. But the Mx sometimes get interrupted either by large reports or serve get hiccups, especially when updates been installed.
