They consistently align with market expectations and user needs, demonstrating a strong understanding of evolving requirements. The monthly meetings with the customers give an added value too. Pros What I like most: The self-service capabilities in DCT are very effective and empower users to manage their own environments efficiently. DCT overall offers a wide range of functionalities, providing flexibility and control in managing data. The support team is exceptionally helpful—they respond quickly and provide valuable assistance whenever issues or questions arise. Cons What I like least: The search functionality for VDBs in the DCT GUI could be more intuitive and efficient. It currently requires too many steps to locate specific virtual databases after the first search , which impacts usability. The frequent renaming of products creates confusion and makes it harder to maintain clarity across documentation and communication. We always feel supported. The product does what we need with no fuss and has become more reliable over time. Pros It does what we need it to do. The support team in Asia Pacific is second to none. They always exceed our expectations. Cons The very hard to navigate documentation. A consistent theme from day 1 that the documentation isn't fit for purpose. It is too light in some areas and the order doesn't always make sense for the real world use. Still seeing some pretty serious bugs slipping through the QA process. Slow to implement new functionality - e.g. AI. Scales very well, we have used to expedite refreshes with a SAP asset with a 55TB Oracle DB. Now takes about 2 hours to do a Virtual DB back to physical. And now this is a "routine" step in our overall refresh process. Development teams now operating in a "self-service" model which frees up project and support resources. Delphix application is very intuitive, easy to learn. Cons Needs to move a little faster to keep up with the latest SAP technologies (e.g. S4 HANA). Our production databases are relatively large and we need be able to quickly provision, refresh and rewind approximately 10 copies of production for development and QA. The database virtualization technology in Delphix allows us to do this in minutes without the need to request additional SAN storage. (Adding a fully-functional development copy of a 5TB production database requires only 100GB of additional storage.) We also use Delphix's fully-integrated data masking solution, which ensures that development instances are de-identified, using masking algorithms that are consistent across all of our different software platforms (on different RDBMS) without the need to run SQL jobs. Delphix has also become our solution for provisioning reporting copies--faster and more flexible than log shipping and as reliable. Cons The product is expensive, although partially offset by the storage savings. It is hard to quantify in dollar terms what the product has meant for us in terms of increased agility and software development efficiency but the benefits are considerable and, in my view, more than justify the cost.
