Popsicle has been an absolute godsend to our organization. We have struggled in the past with paper registration and forms for parents/guardians to fill in by hand, turn in, and keep track off. This platform has eliminated the need for us to spend countless hours on the back end of registration. We can focus more on our programming, and less on the administration end. I cannot recommend Popsicle enough and thank them for providing us this program and for all the assistance they have and continue to provide.

Pros

This platform was exactly what we were hoping to find for our summer camp registration. It is so easy to create and just as easy for parents to navigate. The capabilities to email parents/guardians with one button and replicate registrations for next year are time-saving features that are critical for our small non-profit organization. Outside of the Popsicle platform itself, I have never had better customer service experience in my life. \[sensitive content hidden\] are responsively, proactive, and have helped resolve any questions or issues we had in building the registration. They have continued to reach out just to check in our progress.

Cons

Any features that are not part of the platform, the Popsicle team has been more than happy to work with us to brainstorm solutions. We have zero complaints!

Reasons for choosing Popsicle

Initially on our registration platform search, we looked into several options and even crossed out Popsicle due to it being over our small budget. When we did the demo, it had all the features and more we were looking for. We were amazed with the ease of use for admin and also parents/registrants. FELC was offered a generous contract offer to bring the platform into our budget range. We are incredibly grateful for their generosity and continue to be impressed with their customer service and support.

Overall, I am happy with Popsicle. We also used Popsicle all of last year for a special lunch program where parents needed to sign their children up to have the lunch. I wish there were ways to customize certain places within Popsicle for things that are specific for our school.

Pros

Popsicle is very easy to work in. It is visually appealing and is very easy to navigate. Our parents typically do not have any issues with going into the website and enrolling for after school classes, summer camps, or after care days.

Cons

Popsicle does not have an app. This is difficult for our parents as they have to log onto a website and many times most parents are enrolling on the go on their phones. With the website, we have had some issues with the parents having to clear cookies, the "forgot my password" does not work, and when a class is added to a cart it takes a long time for it to clear before they can change anything in the cart.

Reasons for choosing Popsicle

We felt Popsicle was the most user friendly and the initial tech we worked with was very thorough.

How easy the app is to work. It is also easy to help parents sign up and help them navigate/ trouble shoot some of their issues.

Cons

The amount of emails. I enjoy knowing that parents have signed up but there are so many.

Popsicle was a new platform to me starting December 2023. I have enjoyed using it, but I wish it connected to our Procare app.

Pros

I like how it separates the classes out, gives confirmation of payment, and is user friendly.

Overall positive but some frustrating moments per above.

Pros

It has helped me with the admin part of running my 43 weekly after school classes and one auxiliary program so far. Been a time saver, helped with organization, parent communications, and some of the logistics of the registration process. Customer support has mostly been excellent and timely.

Cons

I had been told during the sales pitch phase that there was an ACH option for parents to pay with only a 1% fee rather than the higher credit card fee. I had also been told initially that our parent and student data would be imported from Blackbaud and it turns out that both those things I was told and that were part of our decision to try popsicle, were not correct or true. On August 1 all boys registered in Popsicle were automatically promoted a grade and I was not told that that would happen so it caused a big mess I am still dealing with where families who registered before Aug 1, now have their boys listed in the system in the incorrect grade which locks them out of classes they should be able to enroll in. Had Popsicle told me about what happens on August 1, I would have communicated with parents who registered ahead of August 1 to use last school year's grade for signing up their boy. Lastly is that I wish Popsicle offered more flexibility for customizing how my school or each school's programs work, so for instance that our After School Daily Drop-In program could more easily work on the Popsicle system, wish Popsicle could adjust and accept our program the way we do it rather than me having to figure out how to change our program to fit the mold on the popsicle site build out for Drop in programs.

Using Popsicle has been great! Whenever I want to do something, there generally is a very easy way to do it.

Pros

Popsicle is very user friendly! I started using Popsicle before we had any training and I could do so much right away. So far it seems to be very straightforward for parents as well.

Cons

There is not a way to just move children to other classes. Sometimes I have 2 of the same class happening at the same time and I want to move children just for roster purposes. Or when I have a bigger class than expected and need to split it into 2.

Our experience this far has been very easy and accurate. We love the rosters and how easy it is to see the info on the dashboard.

Pros

I love that we can message familes directly from the site. This is much easier than searching for them in our other system. It is user friendly and every family can easily use it.

Cons

I would say that I qould like to be able to send photos from the IPAD to Popsicle.
