Has an extensive range of features making it useful for just about any team in some regard. Pros Monday has so many features, and the development team is consistently releasing new ones. Time tracking, activity logging, the ability to add notes, Monday has it all and then some. What I liked most was the display - the visual customization that is offered is incredibly extensive. The visual timelines, the color and shading coding, and the project groupings can be changed as needed and it adds to the organizational capacity that the software offers. I've worked with Asana, Slack, and trialed other team organization software and I think Monday has the most options for customization out of them all. Cons With many features and customization options comes a bit of a learning curve. Getting the team up to speed with the options we would use and how to make them work appropriately took a little time, but it's an initial upfront time cost for the benefit of having an abundance of tools at your disposal. The cost may also be a little prohibitive for an individual user or even a small team, but it's not outrageous by any means. The functionality of the platform is unmatched, as is the support. Pros Monday really takes the arduous and burdensome task of implement company wide collaborative to-do lists and integrates them powerfully into your and your teams' workflows. Cons The initial learning curve is a little hefty, but that is very well counterbalanced by the immense support staff and community. That being said, the basic functionality of the software is not difficult to implement, but the more you dive into various integrations things take a little longer to fully adopt for larger teams. I was using this in a volunteer capacity, so it didn't offer what I needed for an unpaid account. Pros I really liked how functional monday.com was for our group of volunteers managing projects together. Cons We couldn't justify the cost (even the lowest tier) to get the functions that are available with free versions of similar products. Designers use it to manage their daily tasks and report updates. Operations uses it to manage projects like tradeshows, print ads, digital marketing and more. It's a great tool to share updates on projects and keep all feedback and status in one place. I love Monday.com. Pros The interface has a clean design. Functionality is intuitive. Features are powerful. New features being rolled out regularly. Cons Managing attachments is a bit cumbersome when multiple people are making edits. This is not a great document sharing tool. Really happy that I won't have to be the only person managing it! Pros I like how simple and visual this is. You can quickly glance at a task board and understand its status by how much green or red you see. I like the ability to quickly drag and drop rows (called pulses) to adjust prioritization. I've been able to deploy a new system very quickly and easily. Cons I'm getting used to the idea of not having nested sub tasks. I understand why they don't use it, but it's hard to shake. Instead I've created overview boards that link to detailed task boards. I got the Standard plan but am wondering if I should jump to Pro to get private task boards (otherwise people can see stuff that irrelevant to them). Also, though they do offer automation, its not as sophisticated as a really robust workflow. The available rule logic is a bit limited. Maybe something to improve on in the future (or an opportunity to drive things with custom programming and API integration). Review Source Gabriel P. With multiple people being involved in 1 project it does a great job of showing where we are with the project what the next steps are and keeps everyone informed with the ability to add notes and tasks. Attaching files makes it easier than having to send a ton of emails and keeps everything in 1 convenient place Pros The product has a bright and colorful feel to it. The ability to create multiple boards and involve other people on them is awesome. The notes and next steps are very easy to follow and the ability to attach files and easily download is soooo helpful Cons Like many organizational products out thr gate it is a little difficult to learn but their videos and support is MUCH better than other products. It has much of offer and if the "cons" were addressed it could be a great tool. Pros I was able to login using my google account which means I do not have to create yet another login. Ease to create new boards and projects and add items to each. The software is visually appealing and can set colors to indicate completion status. It can also be used in a number of different scenarios. Cons When creating a new board or project management "item" it automatically adds 2 sets of the empty items to groups. This might be easy to turn off, but ... I wish there was some sort of set onboarding to help get organized and up to date with the tool at once. Once it is running, left up to own devices. Otherwise have to find videos or tutorials to get to able utilise fully. January 16, 2024 5.0 Pros Setting up a new database or a new project is very easy. I love that it is visually easy to analyze as well. For example, in the columns that are color-coded, you can see which tasks are more in number. I also love the capability of having different views when looking at any dataset. Like the Forms view, Chart view etc. Communication has become super easy within the team because we don't need to maintain long email chains anymore where files and information can get lost. Cons If your team uses tools like Notion, switching to Monday.com might be a bit difficult because even Notion offers a lot of the functionalities that Monday.com offers. However, Monday.com is many steps ahead. For example, you can use dynamic gantt chart which is not possible on Notion. Cons Some features/tools are limited, I wish they were a more flexible or customizable.
