### "Honest Stack Review"

May 15, 2026

5.0

It has been great! Cross referencing in this program is great and really helps streamline our quoting.

Pros

The value of the product vs cost is great, I had an employee move over from another service and has been amazing at how smooth is. Customer service is amazing

Cons

I would honestly say the lack of AI support for underground utilities projects and waterworks. I understand its hard with how many things arent called out for but it would be nice to have something more there.

### "Improvement Ideas"

May 15, 2026

3.0

Pros

Simple & easy to learn. Has potential but should adopt several of the AutoCAD features, see below...

Cons

Room for improvement. A number of ideas: - Option to send areas to back and lock them. This would enable you to click on lines & count symbols without having to hid the area. Same idea for locking highlights. - Develop an AI future to colour areas on elevations. This would be very beneficial for us, leaving more time to analyze details rather than manually colouring areas. - Have an automatic save function and be able to return to previous versions. - Have a function of a 'cutting line' where you can trim all areas, linear quantities at the point of contact with the cutting line, similar to AutoCAD feature. - Option to save overlayed floor plans to review them later.

### "Stack user review"

May 15, 2026

5.0

Great program. Top notch customer service and training. Everyone I talk to has been super helpful. It is a great program.

Pros

is extremely easy to navigate. It offers a wide variety of preloaded steel members for easy takeoff. The estimate creation is extremely good.

Cons

The only con I seen at all with was the overall cost of it yearly. It comes with great features but I feel like there is some better values out there for specialized trades.

### "OK Service"

May 15, 2026

4.0

Overall, my experience with has been very positive from a functional standpoint. The core takeoff tools are intuitive, fast, and highly reliable, which has streamlined our estimation workflow. However, the experience is held back by the pricing model. While the software itself works great, the annual price increases for added features we don’t use makes it feel less cost-effective over time. If they offered more flexible, tiered pricing, it would be a perfect solution

Pros

What I like most about is how intuitive and user-friendly the basic takeoff tools are. Cloud-based scaling, auto-count features, and the ease of measuring areas and linear items make the initial estimation process incredibly fast. It dramatically cuts down the time it takes to get an accurate takeoff together, allowing us to bid on more projects

Cons

The pricing structure feels rigid. Every year, new features are introduced and the subscription cost goes up, but our team only utilizes the basic takeoff tools. We end up paying a premium for a bloated feature set that we don't actually need. I’d love to see user-specific or tiered pricing so we aren't forced to pay for upgrades that don't add value to our specific workflow

### "Great but room to improve"

May 15, 2026

4.0

It’s a great solution when you wrap your head around it’s sometimes confusing software layout and somewhat complicated formula system. It’s powerful but not always user friendly or intuitive.

Pros

Modern cloud based software that runs smoothly and doesn’t require a local organization and links to plan files. Powerful flexibility with the use of custom assemblies and formulas if you have the knowledge to create them. Customer support is responsive.

Cons

While the formulas and assemblies allow for great flexibility. There’s also cases where the system forces you to use them to make up for lacking features. Estimates currently only allow pricing directly from 1 measurement type. For instance a volume measurement will only bring cubic yards into the estimate by default. For example if I want to take off a concrete slab. If I use volume 2D type measurement, I’m able to takeoff a polygon area and set the thickness. When I go to estimates I only have the option to price via CY. I would have to utilize formulas and items to pull the SF and price from that. I should just have an option to select the measurements directly from the take off. Vice versa if I use the area take off, now I have SF in the estimate but if I wanted to also have my material volume I need to utilize formulas and items. It’s such an unnecessary pain and it practically ruins the program. Every other estimating program has this flexibility and a have requested this feature time and time again only to be ignored.

estimating software is easy to use, highly responsive, and makes completing takeoffs incredibly fast. I’m a huge fan of how quickly I can move through a project, and the interface is fantastic; clean, intuitive, and easy to navigate. While the software does have some limitations and occasional glitches from time to time, the overall experience has been extremely positive for our workflow. I genuinely love my experience with STACK and can confidently say it’s the only estimating software I plan to use moving forward.

### "Mostly Satisfied"

May 15, 2026

4.0

Overall I like and think it is a really good program for getting a good take off. The only frustrations I have is when things change and I have to figure out where the tools I need are.

Pros

That it has assemblies that can calculate my material for me. I also like all the different tools that are included to make everything clear to anyone who looks at my take off.

Cons

It changes a lot and sometimes it is hard to figure out how to use or shut off the changes. I know there are usually tutorials, but sometimes I don't have time if it is busy.

### "Happy in Minnesota"

May 15, 2026

10 out of 10 this product has changed our business. Confidence, in a complete bid. For the first time I'm able to stop and start my takeoff between phone calls. years in the past i would do estimating at 4am shooting for uninterrupted time.

Pros

Simplicity, of take off to estimates. On an average bid project for us estimating 6-8 hour has cut that time in half

Cons

Takeoff tasks change to alphabetical order instead of the order entered. We have never lost a project when i have been able to meet client and go through our estimate and takeoff. I would like to present in the order we build not alphabetical.

### "Commercial Construction Estimator"

May 15, 2026

5.0

Overall I like it. This is our go to software for plan reviewing and take-offs. I have tried others and seems more user friendly.

Pros

The ease of use, the accessibility I like that it is web based instead of a software on your PC which typically slows your computer down. I use it for estimating take-offs and love it.

Cons

This is hard to think about because I really like . I guess cost. Perhaps the AI usage could get better. But it might be because I have not used the AI capability very much.

### "Better software than this one. Don't subscribe "

May 22, 2025

1.0

Terrible. Customer service was horrible, tried to apply for a refund less then 24 hours after purchasing and was denied so now I'm stuck with sub par service for a whole year. DO your homework and don't make the same mistake I did!!!!

Pros

I can't think of any pros about my experience with this company. Unfortunately I bought this in a rush and now I'm stuck with them for a year.

Cons

The most basic software out of all the companies I found. They will not give you any kind of refund if you purchase this software. I highly recommend you looking else where.

### "Great tool!"

May 15, 2026

5.0

Very happy with it! I was hesitant at first and it sounded like it was too good to be true but once we started using it, I realized it's a great product

Pros

The software works fantastic and I haven't had any issues and it's really easy to use. As I mentioned below, I was very hesitant about using this software and figure there'd be a bunch of issues where I'd have to create my own workarounds, but it's been seamless

Cons

As of right now, I haven't found anything that I did not like about . It's rare that I buy software where I didn't find anything about it that I do not like. I'm sure people will be very hesitant about using it, but you won't be disappointed

### "Budget Estimator"

October 30, 2025

I have been using for three years at my job. I really like it because it has helped me a lot. It’s simple to use and reasonable

Pros

It’s very easy to use for the project, and I often find it helpful to read the details on the plans.

Cons

The thing I don’t like most is that sometimes the count is delayed or doesn’t show up. It can’t keep up with my mouse speed, which causes some miscounts.

Pros

efficient, very good for concrete take off, i like that you could do notes, I like that everything stays in the software so you could always go back to it.

Cons

sometimes its too slow, or freezes, i have issues sometimes working on it because it acts crazy or is too slow at times.

### "STACK Review - Marine Vessels"

May 15, 2026

5.0

My overall experience is good. No complaints. Easy to get my takeoff for my estimates. The ability to give your drawings a colored key is an big plus.

Pros

The ease of setting up a job folder and applying pdf files. The ease of having other people in your company log on to view the takeoffs without having to send them via email like a cad file.

Cons

Understanding how to set up the libraries, tags, lables, reports, and estimates. Sometimes the automatic line grab gets annoying when im trying to grab a faint line the program doesnt pick up.

has proven to be very accurate for takeoffs. I have used several competitor products and would rank Stack as a top tier product

Pros

The ability to follow/trace curved lines in takeoff during takeoff performance makes the quantity produced much more accurate and much quicker to perform the task

Cons

Platform seems at time to be unstable. I must exit program and restart to eliminate this condition.

### "Stack construction software- a users aspect"

August 19, 2024

5.0

I had used this software for estimation of construction work for my residence. They have this 3D modelling feature for the look of end product with some detailings. The costing estimates are slightly high

Pros

They have this 7 days free trial version, you can go and work on a maximum of 2 concurrent projects. They have an estimation and takeoff system. So you can go through before taking the paid version

Cons

They features and functionalities in free version are pretty less and we can’t actually get a feel of what actually they have in store for us

### "STACK has been integral in the growth of our company. "

July 28, 2023

5.0

I am extremely impressed with . The tools, support, and ease of use are far beyond any other takeoff tool that I have used.

Pros

Using the takeoffs, items, and assemblies I am able to create accurate proposals and deliver them in a timely manner. This has increased my efficiency in immeasurable ways. Takeoffs that took me multiple days to finish by hand are now able to be completed in a couple hours.

Cons

When working on large projects, sometimes the system gets laggy. It only happens with the largest plans I deal with, when there are dozens of takeoffs being measured.

Reason for choosing STACK

Pricing, features, support, and ease of use. impressed me in the initial trial period and has continued to do so for a year.

### "A great product that save time and accurately figures out materials and costs per project"

July 31, 2023

5.0

\[sensitive content hidden\], our sales manager for our counter sales people loves it and he uses it everyday. Colin, who also does bids and has been intigrating his takeoff with also loves the programs as it has been easy to learn, and is easy to turn off or on features that we want for our customers.

Pros

I tested a few years ago as our sales team spent hours figuring out materials and costs longhand. STACK was incredibly easy to learn and cut our sales teams time spent on large and small projects by so much. We have been able to get back to the contractor quickly with an accurate quote

Cons

Right now, there are more pros than cons. We do sheet metal and gutters, so it would be nice to have that available in also as our jobs often cross over on several products for the same job

Reason for choosing STACK

Time and accuracy- getting the bid to our customer on a timely basis.

### "From a 'count' only estimating company......"

October 21, 2021

4.0

The power of cloud-based software is amazing, a definite game-changer for us. The product has many pro's with just as many could have's. Still using our old software on occasions where we need to price several options, change the structure of the proposal or offer breakup costs.

Pros

Takeoffs are quick, assemblies are easy to put together, it's very quick and easy to change what items and assemblies in a count. The main advantage for us is that we can have multiple people using the software at once.

Cons

Features I'd like to see are: -adding assemblies to an assembly 'item group' -simplify the process of creating an item>creating an assembly>creating a count takeoff -customized icons for takeoff counts -ability to lock (tick box) pricing in a proposal. once locked a new revision will be made if any variations are added -ability to copy a project and make several versions of it, so the older revisions are superseded but still available for reflection -ability to change pricing at the Estimate page for that specific project, without changing global pricing -wide -ability to download proposals in more than .pdf. Eg word, excel -ability to manage projects a little better. lots of unused space on the Projects screen. On the left you should have folders that organise my projects into 'Bidding, Bid submitted, Won, Lost etc'

Reason for choosing STACK

Cloud based
