### "Attractive and easy to use dashboard"

December 7, 2017

4.0

Made it easy to sell my courses directly to my student without losing a decent percent of my income

Pros

Easy to use, The admin dashboard is easy and pretty straightforward, I like the "How do I" drop-down button as it's really helpful when stuck. I like the fact that the dashboard provides links to tutorials on how to create a course and how to customize the look and feel of your website/classroom. What I really loved was that the information part of the course creation process is a lot like Skillshare and Udemy, that made me relax as it was a familiar system.

Cons

The emails. I'd prefer they stick to sending an email one or twice a month or even three. Last month alone I received 12 emails from them. That's a bit too much for me. Sadly, the link to the tutorial on how to customize the look and feel of the classroom is broken. Thinkific's free plan offers more than Teachable free plan.

### "I really love this sofware because I have everything I need to teach my courses!"

June 29, 2018

5.0

Pros

I am a language teacher so I need a platform to teach without any worry, Teachable gave me the chance to do it. The first time I used this software was amazing and I fall instantly in love with it because I can have everything organized when I teach my courses. A good thing about this is that you can create all the online courses you want to, even can create some free courses. This allows you to share all the content you need for your classes, you can use GoogleDrive or any other cloud storage site. Also you can create quizzes and evaluations for your classes, forums and give certificates to the participants. The feature that I liked the most is that you have your own domain with the name you select. This is perfect to me!

Cons

The thing that I didn't like is the payment. At the beginning I thought it was a little expensive, but then I realized that it totally worth it so is not an issue anymore.

### "Easy to use, well organized platform for learning"

October 31, 2018

5.0

Pros

What I like most about Teachable is that this platform is well organized and its structure courses so simple that couldn't be down in any other way better. I like that it counts my learning progress in the upper left corner. And I like that Teacher lessons show what data it contains like video, a document to download, pictures etc. Nice feature when I'm going through the course the lessons that I went through I marked completed and that's why I know exactly where I left my learning process. Also, one of the greatest differences of the platform is that interface which allows you to focus on the main thing - learning the course and there is nothing that will bother you or took your intention away from it. Just press the fullscreen button and start learning. No interfering elements are involved.

Cons

Cons... I cannot think of any of it right now, because I don't see them. I don't use Teachable platform for distributing my own content just as a learner when I enrolled in somebody else course, but I know for a fact that Teachable despite its simplicity and well-organized structure also provides its own web host, payment processor and if you will put your free course on teachable it will not take any fees from you for peoples enrollments.

### "Great for basic course creation"

February 1, 2019

5.0

I like Teachable for creating simple courses to make money off of. Design wise, they could allow for more page builder features that would allow users to create more beautiful sales pages. Additionally, the e-mail drip notifications are all UTC+0 and that can be very confusing for anyone outside the timezone. Being able to set our own timezone and schedule emails without worrying about time conversion is helpful.

Pros

I like that this is very easy to use and user friendly. I found it quite easy to use when creating courses.

Cons

Even with the Power Editor, the design features for sales pages could be better.

### "Have Used As A Student, May Use As An Instructor"

June 7, 2023

5.0

I have mostly used Teachable as a student and have enjoyed the process. As I noted in the "cons" section, it used to be difficult and confusing to set up your course access, but this appears to be fixed now. Once you had your course access set up, the rest was smooth sailing.I am currently testing Teachable out from the instructor side. I have a couple of courses in development and Teachable is a contender for a hosting platform. So far it seems relatively easy to use and fairly priced. If I go with Teachable as an instructor, I will update my review to further reflect my experience.

Pros

\- easy to students to use - no cost on the student side

Cons

In the past, accessing courses was difficult (this looks to be fixed now)

### "Love Teachable- especially how willing they are to help you get started!"

November 1, 2017

5.0

Pros

They make it super affordable to get started, moreso than most other decent platforms. I also like how much training and help they give, and that their structure is pretty easy to understand.

Cons

I don't like how similar it is in style to Udemy. Udemy seems to be the platform that real online course marketers love to hate, so mimicking their style seems to undermine their expertise.

### "A solid course builder that's easy to set up. "

February 28, 2018

5.0

This is a solid platform for selling your online courses. The setup is easy and the learning curve is small.

Pros

I tried Teachable after deciding against a course plugin for my Wordpress site. I appreciate that the learning curve is not steep and that the course setup process is easy.

Cons

Moving around in the course builder is not as smooth as I'd like compared to other course builders. The basic plan options are limited compared to the upper plans, so I'm not getting the need for transaction fees too.

### "Other Platforms Out There"

Pros

It's bright and engaging. Pricing okay. Help tutorial videos.

Cons

Not user-friendly, too many back links and limited design features. Too pricey compared to other platforms. I did not stick with using this platform even after attending trainings.

### "Teachable got a steady & reliable platform where I can share my knowledge and expertise with others."

July 1, 2018

4.0

Self hosting from Teachable. You don't need to have your own sites, which saved a lot of time in putting up a course online to start marketing and selling.

Pros

Modern and simple interface to work with. Everything is self-explanatory. But there are also plenty of help links and tips in the interfaces to guide you as well. You can also email support for help. You can create an online course hosted on Teachable servers once you have all your content readily created and uploaded. By content, I mean docs, guides, links to videos or actual videos to be uploaded themselves and images. Everything is intuitive for me to explore and experiment. Teachable has got a standard templating system which I found to be simple and easy for me to set up a course at my own time own target.

Cons

The only con is the pricing! It's going to be expensive to sustain for a year which you can get all the premium features plus all the bundle up training courses that Teachable offers. To maximise your value for money, you may sign up for a paid account during their promotional period, which are usually from the free webinars.

### "Great value"

October 22, 2019

5.0

All positive experiences! Teachable is so easy to use, but any time you have a question, their knowledge base, courses and support teams can always help.

Pros

Teachable is so easy to use and offers a flexible way to get courses online.

Cons

I would like to add SCORM compliant elements to courses which is not an option in Teachable.

### "Makes creating courses easy peasy"

I have created one course and plan to do another one. I also have taken more courses than I can count through Teachable.

Pros

How easy it is to use. It was simple to make videos and get them up. I was able to create a course in less than a day.

Cons

It can be really challenging to get around the dashboard.

### "Better Alternatives Available"

March 14, 2023

3.0

Overall my experience with Teachable wasn't great. As I noted it was constantly breaking and that considered it was quite an expensive service.

Pros

There wasn't much about Teachable I liked. I migrated away from Teachable because it wasn't working.

Cons

Integrations often broke which resulted in people not receiving the courses they paid for. This was a huge problem.

Reason for choosing Teachable

I migrated away from Teachable to Thinkific.

### "A Great Platform for Online Courses"

August 31, 2019

5.0

I haven't used too many curriculum or course provider services, but Teachable impressed me! Easy to use and a low learning curve for anyone familiar with any type of CMS. I will definitely recommend it to my clients when they're looking for this type of platform.

Pros

Clean and intuitive interface. Enough customization options to brand your frontend account. Custom domain or subdomain option. Integrates with other popular services like MailChimp and ConverktKit. Can upload videos, audios, and PDFs. Streamlined presentation for multiple courses. Provides upset options and plenty of funnel points to engage with customers throughout the signup and course process.

Cons

Customer support is subpar and provides a lot of scripted responses. Login issues if you do not allow websites to track or remember your device.

### "Good Customer Service and Training"

January 17, 2019

5.0

I love the webinars; they keep me motivated. You won't receive as much one on one unless you choose the more expensive platform.

Pros

It is easy to use and they provide lots of webinars and training. The training is not only focused on user interface, but also entrepreneurial skills.

Cons

Not much. It could be cheaper. I like that they have a three-tiered program but even these could each be cheaper. Maybe a payoff in the end for the company would be a better strategy.

### "Easy to use platform for your online course"

August 28, 2018

4.0

I found using Teachable invaluable for helping me create and market my first course. I would have been lost without Teachable's tutorials and their Facebook group. Even if you decide to use another platform to host your online course, I would recommend going to Teachable's website to learn as much as you can about the online teaching ecosystem and market.

Pros

Teachable is a user-friendly and beautifully designed platform for online courses. Their blog and their Facebook group have great information and tutorials on how to create an online course and how to market it. Their customer support is top notch. Using Teachable helped to take some of the stress out of creating an online course.

Cons

The platform is pricey but you can use the free version but there is a higher fee for each transaction and you won't have a custom URL.

### "easy to sell online courses"

July 10, 2018

4.0

You can use the system of free courses, but for high-level full-distance education it would be preferable to acquire a different software.

Pros

Easy to use to create a new course and upload the content. Help develop your brand Flexible Price Ranges - Offers different price ranges, union of courses, promotional codes and coupons and recurring subscriptions. If your proposal is giving out you could use free version

Cons

You need more advanced learning tools, are very basic. Dont have possibilities of doing live workshops or setting learning goals. Also does not have projects and portfolios for courses. Lack of integration - Although Teachable covers the basics, there are areas in the integration that need improvement, is very much based on Zapler

### "Create Courses Quickly "

October 9, 2019

4.0

Overall, I love creating content with this site. If you have questions, they can help you and help you figure it out. The emails they send with helpful tips and information is great. This site is wonderful for anyone who wants to teach other people information that is valuable.

Pros

I like this software and how I can create courses and content for other people. The site has loads of information and they will also email you simple articles to help you with creating content. I like the helpful tips and how useful they are. I also like how I can put my information on slides, so I can create my courses. I have loads of ideas, so I want to make courses for people to understand. This site has tools that I can add to my content course slides which allows me to be creative for each one.

Cons

It can overwhelm someone at first especially if you just started. The site has loads of areas and boxes. I wish they would minimize just some of the work areas for people who just started with the site. The dashboard main area to do my work on just seems a bit overwhelming. It would be nice if the area didn't have so much on it and the person could click to decrease some of the options on the dashboard fast.

### "Not for UK course builders"

November 12, 2020

3.0

Pros

It's easy to use, the platform is simple and straight forwards although you don't have much control.

Cons

My students are from the UK, they pay in GBP, I am also in the UK, I receive my money in GBP. Since teachable is a US based company, when you pay in GBP, they convert it into dollars, then in order to pay me, they convert those dollars back to GBP, which messes up your income. You'll end up having two customers who bought the same course, but because the exchange rate changes so frequently you receive different amount for both of them, and when you have lots of students you can really loose track as to how many students you sold the course to, and how well you did business wise.

### "Great Course Creation - But Perhaps Struggling with Demand"

December 5, 2019

4.0

As well as creating my own course on Teachable, I'm also an affiliate for other course creators.

Pros

Teachable is a great course creation platform that incorporates both course structure, sales and marketing, and payment processing. It's a one-stop shop, and there's even a free version for those getting started. Paid plans come with helpful training materials and there's lots of guidance not just on using the platform but on marketing courses.

Cons

The software sometimes stops slightly short of user friendly. More worrying at the time of writing is that the platform seems to suffer occasional downtime, most significantly on Black Friday, which will have inevitably lost course creators money.

### "Create your own incredible course"

July 16, 2019

5.0

I would recommend this software to any of my tutors who felt they had the right author like the ability to create their own course.

Pros

I found for all beginners wanting to break into Elearning that the ease of using the platform was incredible.

Cons

I found that some of the courses like in a lot of Elearning platforms to be overly basic or wholly unnecessary.

### "Teachable is a great option for creating course content."

February 6, 2018

I love the features offered when creating course content. They are one step ahead of the competition in creating a wonderful customer experience. They offer plenty of support documentation to help you if you have questions. Easily integrates with Convertkit as well as other third party programs.

Pros

Teachable makes it easy to set up a course in a small amount of time. The sites look professional when creating them, adding to the customer experience. Additional options are available with each plan level. They also now offer secured site certificates on your sites at no additional cost.

Cons

Pricing on higher level packages could be better so more people can access and showcase their content skills in the form of courses.
