### "Very useful and streamlined, but could cost less."

February 11, 2022

3.0

Satisfactory overall experience, both on the faculty side and on the student side who finds the courses purchased and consults them quickly and intuitively. Too bad about the pricing model which then turned me away from this solution.

Pros

The user interface is well structured and creating your own courses goes very smoothly. The ability to integrate with external platforms is valuable and very useful.

Cons

I find Teachable's pricing to be questionable and, in any case, quite complicated. The per-transaction fees in the Basic plan, for example, of 5% don't seem justifiable to me while paying $39/mo for the service. Also the choice of gateways and payment methods has confused me several times.

### "Decent but clunky"

June 29, 2021

3.0

it's served my basic needs and it takes stress off my plate but as a paid platform it leaves much to be desired.

Pros

I like that we can design our own school how we want and there is a lot of space available for file storage.

Cons

It's not very streamlined - both as a school owner and as a client I have had issues with clunkiness and confusion. Not the most intuitive.

### "Was good until they forced Professional Plan"

September 30, 2021

3.0

Pros

It is easy to set up and can save lots of time versus building a WordPress LMS. And it does give a good amount of functionality

Cons

The biggest con was the support. When ever reporting bugs they always the same response "Its a browser issue" and blaming the browser for everything is irresponsible. But the real big con is they can not be trusted. When I signed up the basic plan included Zapier connection which is important to sale course from personal websites. But then, without notice, they changed and only allowed Zapier integration with Professional plans.I didn't find out until new students couldn't access their course. Teachable support didn't even know what happened when I contacted to say the integration stopped. This is a big reason why I could never recommend Teachable in fact, I would warn others and go with another solution because they can't be trusted. Who knows the next change they make and how that will effect other's businesses.

Reason for choosing Teachable

Simpler and time effective solution.

### "Very basic tool"

January 27, 2023

3.0

Pros

Easy and works out of the box and has its own search for all courses.

Cons

It’s a bit too basic for my level. But for most works well.

### "Teachable review"

December 21, 2020

4.0

Teachable was one of the first online learning platforms which I got introduced to. I am now using it for creating courses of folk and traditional dances and distribute these courses to people all over the world.

Pros

Teachable provides sufficient course creation, marketing and analytics tools even in its free pricing plan. It also allows for full branding of the online course pages by utilizing custom HTML/CSS.

Cons

Since this is a hosted service, it is good to know that Teachable is managing everything for the creator but at the same time there is not much transparency as to which and how many resources (server CPU power, memory, network bandwidth, CDN) are being utilized. In my opinion, if this information was included in each pricing plan, the creators would be able to better match their course creation requirements with actual hardware resource levels.

### "Great low maintenance platform"

April 1, 2018

4.0

Pros

It's really easy to get up and started on Teachable - it's possible if you're not tech savvy (I got my cousin to try it) and really fast & simple if you are. Now that they're adding features comparable with more premium tools - like in affiliate management and customizable checkout pages, it's great to have everything in one spot.

Cons

Its all-in-one nature does mean that sometimes you have a few things - like instant payouts - that are only on the largest plan/more expensive than with a niche tool's plan, but then you'd need to use multiple niche tools.

### "Great platform, I wish there was a couple of extra features"

July 27, 2019

5.0

Pros

Teachable really can help new teachers who would like to start selling their lessons, as they provide a great free plan. After someone start earning some money can upgrade to the next plans, getting the advantage of great extra features. I hope that they won't change their free plan with adding more limitations, as many other services have done in the past.

Cons

I don't like the fact that many features are available only via the Zippier integration. That means, you need an extra tool to learn and you need am extra service to pay every month. At least, teachable should be able to let professionals create 2-3 upsell options, and more importantly to give the the ability to create membership plans for their courses, with a trial period that automatically would upgrade to the standard pricing plan. Now someone needs to duplicate the course, create two separate pricing plans, integrate with Zapier and create a route where when someone pass the trial period, zappier will delete him from one source and then enrolling him to the other. Too complicated.

### "The easiest, most streamlined online course platform out there."

April 7, 2018

5.0

I'm able to offer two online courses for my blog audience and create a new revenue stream for my business.

Pros

I love that Teachable handles all of the online payments, accepts all major credit cards, and handles any taxes necessary. I also love that they not only offer a platform to host your sites, but also include sales pages, check out pages, and thank you pages.

Cons

I wish some of the reporting was easier to find and understand. It can be pretty difficult to break down income streams within the program. It can also be difficult to maneuver the backend of the site in general. I always struggle to find how to change preset text, as well as find more information about my students (like who completed the course and when, etc).

### "The most beginner friendly online course platform"

March 6, 2019

4.0

Pros

Teachable offers all the essential features one needs to create and deliver an online course. The platform is super easy to use and it allows you to get started quickly. The pricing is beginner friendly and they even have a free plan.

Cons

Teachable's website building capabilities are really limited at this point. So, unlike their competitors, they don't offer site themes and the page builder has limited customization options as well.

### "It's a good alternative to marketplace platforms like Udemy"

February 15, 2018

4.0

Pros

Offers a free plan to try the basic features . The interface is very intuitive and with supporting docs and responsive customer support , the learning curve is not steep at all . The course making interface is simple drag and drop editor and very easy to use . The aesthetic look of the front end can be made as good as your creativity can take you .

Cons

The content types that can be added are files , videos , quizzes , etc . Just like Udemy by and large . Nothing built on authoring tools like say, articulate can be hosted here . That's a big let down .

### "Teachable Is Great!"

May 20, 2016

5.0

I've tried out Ruzuku, Thinkific, Kajabi (Abnormally expensive), and a ZippyCourses, along with a couple more wordpress plugins. Teachable is hands down THE BEST platform I've found (and it's oddly cheaper). The team is great, agile, and when you join you become part of the teachable community, that is ALWAYS there for you. It's not just the software that makes Teachable so great, but the connections and information you get as well. They work with a huge network of incredible influencers and entrepreneurs that I've personally networked with and now worked with, and their information is top notch.

Pros

Incredible customer service, drip content, beautiful platform, awesome reporting, great editing features, and a bunch of integrations.

Cons

Ankur sometimes takes a while to get back to you. But he IS the CEO. I'm surprised he even answers our questions.

### "Never buy this product"

February 24, 2021

2.0

Pretty bad, the software is fine, but if you have any problems with your account, payouts, software glitches or anything really they are 90% of the time unhelpful. It's like they don't care that you are a customer that's paying for their product. Frequently, I'll be in the middle of troubleshooting a problem by email with them and they'll just stop responding. DO NOT BUY THIS SOFTWARE or you will lose your mind like I have. Also if you are an international company that doesn't work in USD, they aren't really set up to deal with other currencies well. I've set up 6 courses on teachables, but I'm going to move them all to Thinkific this year.

Pros

It was pretty easy to set up your course, add video etc. I liked the courses on marketing/etc that they sent out weekly to join for free.

Cons

Not very customizable, customer experience is just okay. Many were confused as to how to login etc initially. No autosave of your work, I lost hours to a system glitch where you press enter and it just deletes your course text and there's no autosave to backup to.

### "Teachable is pretty darn good"

March 20, 2019

5.0

They have a lot to offer for anyone building courses, from solopreneurs who teach to large companies who provide internal training. It's also pretty affordable overall.

Pros

There's a lot of things to like about Teachable. You can host your content, have it locked for only paid customers, and lots of reporting tools to see how your students are doing. There's plenty of integrations as well, and you can modify the landing pages/sales pages/course pages. It's awesome.

Cons

There's not really much that I don't like about Teachable. I do wish they offered some features like free trials of our courses, but it's not a major con. The work around would be to provide a free course, that funnels into a paid course.

### "Poor support, steep learning curve"

November 11, 2019

4.0

I was working with two friends to create a course for financial advisors. We tried Teachable first, but the site went down at an unfortunate time, we got locked out of our account at another critical time, and its interface was just too convoluted. eachable's support was very unhelpful in the early stages. So, we switched to Thinkific and were much happier.

Pros

You can create very nice looking courses and have access to all the features students might expect.

Cons

Like any similar software, there is a steep learning curve. It isn't so difficult, but at the beginning there are inevitably many questions until one gets used to the interface. Teachable's support was very unhelpful in the early stages.

### "I didn't know I could be a teacher"

September 19, 2020

5.0

I started using Teachable as a test. I thought maybe I could teach the things I know by being a sales executive for more than 15 years. It seems some people trusted me on that and Im know a part time teacher! All thanks to Teachable.

Pros

It's really easy to create courses, tests and to integrate other softwares to the app. Teachable is really famous in the world of e learning. That helps me get a lot of clients. I can teach from home!

Cons

You need a lot of time to prepare courses and tests. The learning curve is really big, but it worths it.

### "I'd recommend this"

July 30, 2020

5.0

I love using Teachable, but have a lot of trouble getting others onboard to use it since it has less features than other programs.

Pros

\* I love how easy it is to make an online course \* I love having a branded course and they make it easy

Cons

\* I don't like how every Teachable course looks identical minus the colour scheme and logo. \* I wish it wasn't so obvious I use Teachable over other softwares

### "Great for uploading video training or docs to be completed by a variety of people at various times."

April 21, 2020

5.0

Organized, simple - almost too simple, team centered, and training focused.

Pros

I loved the ability to watch trainings on my own time, and have access to it at 4 am on a saturday in April, or at 2 pm on a wednesday in May.

Cons

The least favorite part was definitely that some video quality seemed to be worse, the videos at times took forever to load, and i found myself wishing that there were just links to take me to youtube or something that already had the video platform there.

I didn’t like holding funds for a period of time and the fees.

Pros

Cons

Pros

December 2, 2021

It was nice, customer service is helpful with their tutorial videos but if the issue doesn't get resolved then you are stock with getting the same tutorials over and over.

Pros

I started using because at the time it was the only platform I was aware of. It's simple to use even for a non tech person.

Cons

Price, if I wanted all of the bells & whistles then it's pricey when you are just starting.

### "Teachable is great for content creators!"

April 9, 2020

5.0

Overall, my experience has been great! Their customer service team is super helpful when you need them and the platform is very familiar to a lot of other bloggers and online business owners.

Pros

If you are looking to create courses or to grow your online business Teachable is the place to be. I have been using this platform to host my courses and it has been super great. I love how you can create sales pages for each of your courses to help boost sales.

Cons

The only con about Teachable is that they recently changed how their creators can design their sales pages for their courses. This can be a learning curve if you don't know much about web designing.
