Pros

Giveffect is a powerful all-in-one platform that streamlines the coordination and management of nonprofit organizations so staff and volunteers can focus on making a positive impact. You’ll be hard-pressed to find another tool out there with such a comprehensive set of tools specifically designed to serve the nonprofit industry. But what really makes this platform stand out is the people behind the scenes. It’s been a pleasure working with the Giveffect team. Their desire to help nonprofits make a difference drives them to continually serve their clients at a higher level.

Cons

Nothing at all to dislike. We are excited about the platform and have found that Giveffect checks all the boxes to solve some of the toughest challenges nonprofits face when it comes to collaboration, data fluidity, donor tracking, and much more.

It has been amazing and really taken our donor retention and management efforts to the next level. Getting started was nerve-wracking for me, but their team helped onboard us quickly and with few bumps. Now that we've been with Giveffect for about 3 years, we are still incredibly satisfied and as our team has grown and developed, we've been able to discover new tools in Giveffect that help us to level up with our efforts.

Pros

The data points in donor profiles, ability to manage volunteers, grants, donors, and text/email/phone communications all within the same platform.

Cons

Some analytics from the integrations aren't as thorough through the Giveffect platform, but you can get the full analytics from the integrations website.

Since the membership system in Giveffect isn't as robust as we need, it is not the all-in-one solution we expected.

Pros

This software is easy to use, intuitive, and the knowledge base and on boarding are well done. After orientation and with the help of customer support, our team quickly got a handle on our average tasks. The CRM features are very easy to get at a glance overviews of donors & I feel that we have a better handle on our prospecting since switching to this software.

Cons

The data migration progress for us was glitchy in our membership. Their automation was one of the reasons we wanted to switch, however, their automation when it doesn't work correctly can be a nightmare. During migration, their system encountered a glitch that ended up emailing over 700 donors with information about their membership expiring, even when it wasn't. While you're given a 2 week review to make sure your data is correct, it is useless if something like this happens as the database is "live" and will communicate with donors for a glitch like this. Our other issue is the membership module is quite basic and does not meet our needs. During our trial, we asked our sales rep about membership tiers to address the issue and she believed it was an easy fix. When we got to our transition in June, we questioned work arounds with our client success team. For 5 months, we have been chasing them down for answers. Their client success team and a separate feedback team keep promising that product team is working on a fix and deadlines pass with no communication and no fix. They have actively ghosted us on the issue now and it is appalling. They were promoted as incredibly responsive and were until we encountered a problem and now it just feels like we are being strung along for the duration of our 1st year contract. While software problems are to be expected the lack of customer service is awful and our biggest issue with this system.

It has been a wonderful experience. We transitioned over in March of 2025, and I know it was 100% the right decision.

Pros

It is a fantastic system. The value for the money is great. It is very user-friendly. The customer support is top-notch. Our account manager, \[sensitive content hidden\], is wonderful to work with. We use the system for donor and donation management, event ticketing, and peer-to-peer fundraising. It's easy to run reports, which has been a pain point before using Giveffect.

Cons

I have nothing major to note. Just a couple of enhancements I'd like to see like a pop-up on contact records for a deceased individual or a "do not solict" contact.

Without Giveffect, we would not be able to keep track of our organization's many constituents as easily. Giveffect helps break down internal siloes and increases our ability to fundraise from different areas of our consituency.

Pros

From fundraising and events to volunteers and marketing, we do a lot at our small nonprofit. Giveffect is a great all-in-one platform that allows us to keep all our constituents all in one place. We can see who has donated, attended an event, participated in a program, volunteered--in Giveffect, our record-keeping is shared across departments and helps break down internal silos. We use it every day, and Giveffect's support team is always there to help us if we encounter any issues. Their online chat feature and the frequent check-ins from our account manager (Shout-out to \[sensitive content hidden\]! He's awesome!) are especially helpful for navigating our database.

Cons

With so many overlapping features, it took some time to wrap my head around how our database was set up (I was not part of the team that first signed up for Giveffect at our organization), and as with any nonprofit CRM, it's easy to clutter up our data. There have also been little limitations here and there that we wish were different about Giveffect, but their support team is great and helping us find workarounds and sending our feedback to their product team to implement changes.

Giveffect is a key aspect of what we do and how we measure our success as a nonprofit. It's a powerful tool and full featured, though some features are difficult to use or integrate.

Pros

Full featured. Giveffect's customer support, or Client Success Account Managers, are absolutely excellent; I've had great reps who know the system inside and out, with a fast response time. Even though we're a small nonprofit, we're treated like a top-tier and that feels good. The interface is pretty easy to ramp up on, with lots of features, more than we need. The "Mission Control" dashboard has your top stats nicely visualized in graphs and customizable parameter blocks that you can add yourself. I'm able to keep track of donations with notifications as well. Their account managers are available to help train as well as troubleshoot and find solutions. They also will take notes on your feature requests, which I appreciate.

Cons

Some feature workarounds can be clunky; like surveying members, which is possible but integrating form data back into individual records is very problematic when it should be automatic. Donation pages are generated through GE without our domain name, just a generic GE domain. Email services are limited to Mailchimp and Sparkpost, and both need an extra fee. The interface has lots of tabs on the left panel, making it hard to read. The mobile version is just for tickets and point of sale, not viewing records or other functions.

Giveffect has enabled me to attract and retain more volunteers than I ever thought possible.

Pros

I started used Giveffect with the start of a new job and was basically on my own to "get up to speed" and use the software optimally. It is really intuitive in its design and after viewing the relevant training videos, I was able to apply it's use to my daily workflow. For the first time, the branch I was working for was able to have volunteers sign up online, check in and out on an iPad, and have their hours tracked in real time. Anytime I needed a little help, the customer service team was available through the "Chat" feature and incredibly responsive and patient.

Cons

Honestly, I have suggested several changes or additions and often they implement the change with their next update. They are very open to suggestions and adopt them! Amazing!

Before we found Giveffect, we had been using a combination of eTapestry, Volunteer Hub, and Constant Contact. What jumped out at us was the ability to consolidate the donation and volunteer piece in one program. Our old systems were supposed to sync with each other but it was sloppy and didn't work that well in practice. W e were attracted to having one system to capture all that information. We did the research and decided that Giveffect was going to make our lives a whole lot easier. Giveffect has made our online donation flow simpler and more user-friendly, and its reporting feature is also much easier to use than eTapestry's. It has definitely saved us time because the information for our volunteers is already integrated with their donation history, which is a lot better than having to manually merge those records.

We were using a combination of several different platforms, spreadsheets and e-marketing solutions to run our 5 major fundraisers, multiple RSVP events and accomplish donor tracking and moves management. While searching for a new solution, Sharon from the Giveffect team was extremely helpful and responsive to our loads of emails full of questions :) The system is so user friendly and appealing with a very modern feel. It makes it very easy for friends of the agency to assist with fundraising by creating their own pages to solicit donations or through multiple sharing platforms (facebook, twitter, email, ect.) for agency sponsored events. The volunteer management module is ideal for scheduling multiple "jobs" and schedules and keeping track of skills, certifications and availability. Our favorite part about Giveffect other than the "chat with us" customer service box (I use that regularly) is the ability to create relationships between contacts and easily "tag" people to segment them into groups for easy reporting. As our focus turns to a targeted campaign for individual contributions and moves management plans for specific donors, the notes and task scheduler/reminder is going to prove invaluable. We are very happy with Giveffect and the team is constantly making upgrades and improvements they they report on every two weeks so you never know what exciting things are on the horizon. I highly recommend them!

Pros

This is a fantastic system that properly allows us to keep track our giving totals. That's really the only reason we use this, but it has far surpassed what we have expected.

"It's been more than a year since we adopted Giveffect. When we first started with Giveffect we ran a campaign for one of our founders who was turning 100 years old. It was our first campaign with Giveffect and we raised more than $10,000 in 2 weeks. It was very easy to set up the campaign, even on our first try. We moved all our volunteer registration onto Giveffect and it has been a very positive experience. It's really great that we can direct supporters to our website to sign up as volunteers. They can then fill out our application and waiver form with the information automatically entered into the database. Giveffect has a lot of the elements that exist in the Habitat world. I have been with Habitat for 18 years and one of the challenges with any software system is that we wear so many hats that it can be difficult to become an expert in the fund development field. With that said, I have found Giveffect to be very user friendly."

The main reason we chose Giveffect is that it had all the different systems we were interested in all-in-one, we had looked at Raisers Edge, E-Tapestry and Bloomerang for the donor piece as well as Volunteer Hub and SignUp.com for the volunteer platform, but the fact that Giveffect was integrated and the systems could all speak to each other was the main selling point for us.

They are constantly making improvements and notifying us of them. They check in with us twice a year, and support is easy to access unlike our previous software!

Pros

It does practically everything we need it to do, from donor relations to volunteer management to our annual auction. It's responsive and connects with several other prominent softwares like DonorSearch and Double the Donation!

Cons

The household reporting is a little lacking and needs improvement, but we're communicating to them about this regularly. Also wish the volunteer interface was a little easier for older volunteers to understand & use.

After a year of use I have been very happy with is and I continue to be impressed by the reply time of any of my questions to my rep.

Pros

Ease of use, marketing potential, use during an event are all perks of this program and ones that I have really enjoyed.

Cons

I wish that there was an easier way to sub when creating reports and merges for queries. Having said that the reporting is very easy in general.

So far, so good! I feel like we are still learning everything that Give Effect can do for us! Give Effect has allowed our office to have a working CRM that we can use throughout the staff. It's easy to update and we longer have to ask each other for contact information!

Pros

I love the ease of the CRM and also the email campaigns. Being able to have up-to-date contacts and donor information has been amazing for our small office. We have recently subscribed to the text messaging component and are enjoying that as well.

Cons

I wish you can have more variety in designing an email. Also, it would be great to be able to have different fonts and sizes within a paragraph. I would also love to be able to send a photo with a text message.

Giveffect has a wonderful customer service team that offers clear steps and workarounds when you present them with a problem. The platform is easy to use, and is great for centralizing contacts.

Cons

Giveffect can feel unwieldy at times. To create campaigns with email reminders, or to update hours, giving, etc. for contacts, it can sometimes feel like you are clicking through a lot of pages. There are also a few features that would be nice to have, such as the option to make campaigns recurring.

I began working with Giveffect from the very beginning when we were working on selecting a new CRM. Therefore I have worked with their sales, training, implementation/migration, and now support team. While there is a lot to learn with Giveffect due to how comprehensive the product is it has been an overall good experience with very minor hiccups.

Pros

The features that are the most impactful with Giveffect is that the volunteer and donation platform integrate seamlessly. I can easily look at a supporter's account and see how many hours and dollars they have donated to our organization. It's also very helpful that the event software and forms are integrated into the platform. The donation forms are easy to use and you can set up campaigns very quickly that will help increase support for your initiatives. We have also been impressed with the reporting feature - it has allowed us to track a lot of different analytics quickly that we weren't able to do with our previous CRM.

Cons

The feature that I like least about Giveffect is their email marketing - this feature needs serious attention and upgrades. It is lacking a lot of features that would really allow us to communicate better with our volunteers and donors. I'm hopeful they will implement drip campaigns in the near future. You also cannot embed videos into emails which is a huge downfall for storytelling.

We switched to Giveffect to get all of our products under one umbrella. We were not able to look at one supporter and see all of their interaction with our organization which was hindering our ability to cultivate and retain donors and volunteers.

My overall experience has been great. I have a very lean staff and we all multitask. The software is intuitive. As a busy executive, I can login anywhere to get information. I wish I had more time to spend with the software. Currently I'm working to set up the data structure to better integrate with Quickbooks.

Pros

I found Giveffect in an online search when I took the new role of Director for Institutional Advancement at Los Angeles Community College District. In my role, I serve as the Executive Director for the non-profit auxiliary Foundation for the Los Angeles Community Colleges. Giveffect has been a life saver. It is easy to use and I love that the software has email capability, online giving, relationship management tracking and great reports.

Cons

The main downside it that at the basic price level, I don't have access to many of the other great processes. Wealth screening for example. I also wish the Spark Post was integrated a little better. It works well but requires signing into two accounts to manage.

Reason for choosing Giveffect

I like having the ability to do many business processes in one system. Ease of use was incredibly important. Giveffect's team members were great with onboarding and set up.

We used Blackbaud at the previous organization where I worked. It is very complex and required a full-time person to manage the database.
