Owner Retail Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "A great out-of-the-box platform with a few missing features" October 2, 2024 4.0 The slickest and most user-friendly shipping platform I've used, and I have tried a few; however, eventually I felt we could do better with a platform that did not charge per month. That said, Shippo may be a great choice for many people. Pros Shippo has a user-friendly dashboard and strong integration with ecommerce platforms; I can see all my orders in one place. In addition, the tracking api updates frequently so my customers can see real-time information. Cons Out of the box the integration with WooCommerce does not provide live shipping quotes. I can use a third-party plugin to do this, but then I'm paying for the plugin plus Shippo. That's my second issue: Shippo charges $20/mo. and up for their platform, unless your package count is pretty low. However, if Shipstation offered the same rates we'd definitely prefer Shipstation over Shippo Pros Their carrier negotiated rates are the best we've found. The API works well and makes it easy to compare rates and ship internationally. Support is generally pretty good Cons The web portal is much worse than Shipstations. They also do a bad job of associating orders with shipments and viewing things you do via the API in the web portal. You arrived on a private jet and have been picked up in a limo of your choosing. You are now walking along the beach with sandals in one hand an oversized umbrella and a fruit-laden cocktail in the other. Dolphins are leaping out of the water a few feet (meters) from shore. The sun is reflecting off the crystal blue water. The blood orange and yellow shimmer dances gayly on top of the waves...u get it I think!!! Pros Super easy to use and set up and link your various shipping accounts. They make it almost whimsically easy to "test" the product with a forever free account. Savings for free and paid accounts are the same. Today (May 20, 2021) I saved 32% on USPS and a whopping 62% on UPS!! I have been typically just printing labels from the namesake sites and thought the claims of savings were "up to" claims and the reality was going to be fairly negligible. Think eBay and then they turn around a charge you for buying shipping through them completely negating or making it more expensive to ship through eBay. NOT Shippo! Not only is it free and commission-free but they REALLY do have great rates and the savings are LEGIT not "UP TO" BS but real money! Heck if you are an eBay seller you would be foolish if you didn't give Shippo a whirl! So, in short, I love the money I save, the ease of set-up and use and the customer support is fast and furious. I HATE bot customer support in general but Shippo is pretty, pretty, pretty good too! Cons Overall with the free account that I have, I LOVE LOVE LOVE everything about it. If I wanted to channel my inner "Karen" I could groan loudly in my best Jewish whine, I want to integrate more shipping channels without paying to upgrade, but free UPS and USPS are good enough for my needs! Cons During the set-up process I encountered a small bug in the integration, but upon reaching out to Shippo support, the issue was quickly addressed and I was able to move forward. This means that damages to internal components that do not show external damage are not covered. We do understand the inconvenience this may cause, but want to share that this exclusion is a standard practice in the industry to prevent claims on pre-existing damages. As such, this type of coverage is commonly excluded across most shipping insurance providers. While a lot of the items you listed-- like disk drives, laptops, LCDs, and TVs--are not covered for damage, they are still covered for loss or theft. Mr Internet Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Shippo is my chosen program" March 9, 2021 4.0 All in all, excellent except as noted above Pros I like the fact that it was not complicated to learn. It was very easy and logical. I get great value on my printed labels and The Shippo Insurance appears to be a great value too! I like the fact that I can choose between multiple shipping methods even though USPS in by far my chosen method. Record keeping is a snap with the ability to download orders or shipments and I also receive emails from Shippo every time I buy 1 label or multiple at a time. I like the fact that I get a copy of the label (great for reprints and records and invoices too)! I have multiple online stores and my order are imported in and in many cases I automatically designate box size and weight. Cons I do not like the fact that I can not import and combine orders going to the same buyer. (it saves me shipping and insurance cost)! This needs to be changed. I have twice asked support for this and have not gotten a reasonable answer. The other problem I have had is that I have two stores with eBay and when I have to change a password on one I have to delete both and reinstall. Treating each store as independent of the other would allow me to delete one and not have to reinstall both! Reason for choosing Shippo After my bad experience with Stamps they offered me a stronger deal. Too Late. After looking at ShipStation, ShippingEasy, and ShipWorks I discovered they were owned or controlled by stamps.com. I gave up an eight year relation with Stamps.com and did not want to fall back in their trap. I chose Shippo because they were independent and had top-notch reviews. It was a great choice! Pros The software is integrated allowing user friendly platform with easy management and navigation for even the the inexperience. The customer service in impeccable and resolved my damaged goods from beginning to end with easy refunding of my label purchase. The price for each potential label order is displayed by carrier with pricing at least 35 percent off what i currently get from my logistic carrier which I was surprised. If I had known of Shippo's potential with cost for package mailings I would have been on board years ago. If was by chance I tired this to see what I heard and was amazed on the truth I heard about how much they save you on your business shipping cost. Cons There are none from my experience . Invoice are a bit confusing, not sure when they charge an invoice, but it gets old seeing so many invoice in a day instead of one large bill at the end. This also can cause confusion with the bank. Easy to pull up past customers so you generate another label for the same customer & tweak the package settings for the new package. Also the email alerts for the customer are huge. They get notified when I ship & when it's delivered. So it reduces the customer support requests asking for status of their package. Cons I do wish their search for past labels was easier. For example, if I am looking for "Matthew", and search for "Matt" it will return no results. January 7, 2019 4.0 This platform makes my life so much easier without costing me anything. They seem like a great company with a genuine customer centered and improvement focused attitude. Pros It is a great value for the money. It was very easy to get started with, and has continued to grow and refine itself as I have grown. It's flexible and has allowed me to understand how shipping works while saving me time and money from standing in line at the post office. Cons It can be slow at times due to extraneous clicks required to get different pieces of information needed for different types of sales. It can also be lacking in features/information at times, but 9/10 times the information is there; it just needs a little digging to uncover. I was using the USPS site and it took forever to fill out each label. Having previous shipments stored helps when creating a new label. I love how it syncs with my website and Etsy. Overall it has made shipping more professional and easy! Pros I love how it tracks all my orders from various platforms (my 2 websites, Etsy). I can see at a glance what I need to ship and from where. The auto-fill feature on addresses is great. Also the verifying an address is very helpful! Being able to "store" addresses and make another label for another package without having a new order helps. I always use USPS so being able to set that as a default helps speed making labels up. Cons The only con I have is the auto fill when creating a new label using the same email address.
