Now I use it a less and looking for ways to utilize it more. They offer regular training sessions that help prompt ideas for usage which is also helpful. Pros I love the ability to reposition the connections. My mind map program is static but Lucidchart is fluid. I can position the items all over the canvas. Cons I do not like the fact that the levels will not expand and collapse like in a mind map. Example - Level 1 (Books) -- Level 2 (Books on AI) (Books on Leadership) - I cannot collapse to only see level 1. It can be done programmatically but not natively. Review Source ES Elamathi S. Pros Lucidchart is a great product for Architects, Developers, Sales. Its user-friendly interface, making diagramming accessible even for beginners. The ability to share it within the organization and also outside makes it more accessible and easy to refer along with the ability of multiple sheets. The ability to link diagrams to external data sources like Google Sheets and Excel is a powerful feature. Actually, the diagram looked better in LucidChart than in Draw.io. Cons There is nothing that I would change about LucidChart. Our team made countless diagrams/flowcharts within the first few days. Cons There's a few thing about the UI of Lucidchart that makes it look less modern. Also I don't think the distinction between lucidchart and lucidspark was made clear so sometimes the synergy between lucid and confluence was unsuccessful because we created a lucidspark. When I know what I want to start out with they are a very good jumping-off point. Cons The AI feature doesn't generate some simple items the way I like it to. However, it's user experience can be made frustrating when trying to do some simple diagram tasks. Pros Easy tool for creating process flows and creative images for a variety of business needs including system architecture and business policies. Cons The use of lucid as a planning tool isn't great. It's gantt charts are fiddly, and I found it easier to use other tools rather than lucid. When I discovered this tool I was really impress how easy it is. I had some basic knowledge of UML and BPMN so it was clear to me what type of block to use when and why. It allows me to create really robust process maps, that's my main use case for that. Since I learned how to use it, every time I talk to with somebody about any kind of process we start to map it there, just to see how it looks and visually look for some errors and things that can be done better. Cons The free version in my opinion is just not enough to really get your hand on this software. You got just 3 documents with 60 shapes, if you're a person who is really detailed, that amount can be used really quickly not making you see the value in it. Review Source MS Michelle S. They have many integrations built in and easy to use. Cons I think its just the quality of the diagrams when you are a little bit more zoomed out but this could also just be a limitation of a persons monitor. I recommend trying the free plan and if you plan to use it more often like daily then get the premium plan. Pros I really like the templates, they are so useful to get started with. It's also easy to use compared to other websites, I can just drag and drop the pieces and easily connect them with lines. Cons The free version of Lucidchart is very limiting. It’s well-designed, flexible, and ideal for both solo and team use. While the AI could definitely use improvement, especially for users looking for intelligent automation, the core diagramming features are solid and reliable. Pros Lucidchart is incredibly intuitive when it comes to building flowcharts, diagrams, and org charts. The drag-and-drop interface is smooth, and there are plenty of templates to get started quickly. It’s also very easy to collaborate with teammates in real time, which makes group projects or workflows much more efficient. Cons The AI assistant was disappointing. I tried asking it to perform simple tasks like organizing shapes or labeling diagram elements, but it often misunderstood or gave vague, unhelpful responses. I feel like there is an icon for almost anything I need. It was also very easy to learn. Cons I don't feel like there is much that I dislike. I feel like the only thing I dislike is I have not been able to find a way to lock lines and some of the visual effects are less straightforward. Also, the option of creating diagrams in real time with other people is the best, since we can help each other. I can interact with many diagram options that are pre-designed or modify them as I feel best. Pros This tool has been perfect for creating diagrams in real time and being able to share all the information in a simpler and better explained way. By being able to view the data, I can have clarity of the information and thus explain with real data for greater clarity. All data imports are done to the diagrams to reduce information, leaving the most important information and being able to have collaboration between the team. Used it already multiple times for solo and collab work and has made the work really easy and swift. Pros The ease of use is great. If you are coming over form another software its esy to understand. Super great for quick collaborations, design thinking, even just getting own ideas down because of the extensive templates and large template library. Product Design is clean, not a lot of clutter. Cons more AI usage would be great. For example being able to just jot down your ideas or structure you wanted then getting a stater for 10 would be great. This program is really easy to use with no training. If you do need something their is entire libraries of videos on youtube. Pros The ease and very straight forward UI that follows the same design process as many media editing programs. Pros What I love most about Lucidchart is that is easy to use and there are so many apps you can integrate with Lucidchat, powerpoint being my favorite.
