July 28, 2025 4.0 I haven't had much experience with the CS team since this is just a simple integrated tool in my works environment, but overall it has been very seamless and provides the tools needed. Pros I like how easy it is to use. There is no learning curve and the tools it provides definitely allows me to plan projects more consistently and cover the necessary topics. Cons I personally don't have a consistent use for it. There are several one-off cases where I find value, but overall it isn't something that I find super required to get my job done effectively. It’s also been great to create presentations that easily get the ideas across. Pros I personally love using Lucidchart for flowcharts, diagrams, wireframes, etc; it's very intuitive. For example, I used it to create a customer journey map for a marketing campaign, and my team used the real-time collaboration feature to leave feedback as we went. Cons The free version is very limited, and some of the more advanced shapes and templates require a premium subscription. The interface can be crowded for bigger diagrams too. Cons This software is quite clicky and has a lot going on. The UI can be a bit much at times and sometimes seems to overcomplicate things. Additionally, the templates are not easy to work with as they input a lot of things you then have to delete because they don't update with you as you begin to enter information. It was easy to jump in, updating the templates for my purpose and pulling together a visual of a complex process in limited time. Pros It was easy to get started with Lucidchart and create an easily undateable visual for a new process flow. Cons The couple of pain points were related to arrows and fonts. The arrows seem to have a plan of their own. In cases where one process fed into a group of processes, it was tricky to attach the arrows. There hardly has been any issues of any kind. Pros The variety of tools make it easy to design any diagrammatic representation. Adding to that, the tools are very accurate and easy-to-use as well. It is also optimised for every type of software. Cons There is not much which I don't like about it personally. Switched from [Canva](https://www.capterra.com/p/168956/Canva/) I decided to make the switch because as a planner, I had to regularly make diagrams representing workflow which took a lot of time in Canva, with the results still being pretty inaccurate. June 10, 2025 5.0 I use Lucidchart for work, and it has made diagramming processes and flows a breeze. I used the learning modules to get started, and it has been a smooth learning curve. Pros Lucid is extremely user-friendly and has a great set of learning modules. The templates are also super helpful places to start from. Cons The one complaint I have about Lucidchart is that I wish I had the option to turn off suggesting the AI tool/removing it from my toolbar. I also don't like that I can't triple click on a specific word/letter in a shape to get my cursor right in that spot, as it defaults to being at the end of the text. Pros It is web browser based, which enables me use it for my diagramming needs on any desktop device without first installing software. Also, I like that it integrates smoothly with my Google Drive. This has meant automatic backup of all of my flowcharts, process maps etc diagrams in the cloud. Lastly, I like the vast template library it provides. I have relied heavily on them to ensure that I don't have to create process diagrams from scratch , as there is always an available template for any process diagram I have needed to create using Lucidchart. I was introduced to it through LEAN training and man oh man has it changed the way I do things. When processes get bogged down, I go to Lucidchart and map them out. This allows me to track wasted effort make small improvements with my team -- and the process map is its own road map! Pros Lucidchart is an incredibly valuable tool for productivity and efficiency -- without sacrificing the human element. We use process maps a TON in my org, and Lucidchart makes it so simple! Cons There's a small (and I mean really small) learning curve to figure out how everything is supposed to work, but it's pretty straight forward and their tutorials are great. I really like the drag-and-drop features and all the built-in templates, which make it quick to create clean, professional-looking visuals. One of the best parts is how easy it is to collaborate. Lucidchart is great for teams and individuals who need an easy, collaborative way to create diagrams, as long as you don’t mind paying for the full experience. It comes with a good shape library many common (and some uncommon) platforms, and templates. Cons Exporting a chart as a PNG or SVG won't embed the editable chart into it, so you can't commit a chart file into your git repository, and then edit it later. Dragging the edges of object, or getting the arrows to connect properly, can also be tricky.
