We as media buyer run campaign across multiple traffic sources and its really a hassle to put together a report to compare the performance across all the traffic sources. On voluum you can just integrated all the traffic sources and track all the data at one place which help me to take decision. Comparison gets easier when all the data is at one place. Founder Publishing Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Probably the worst software company in the history of mankind" February 7, 2025 1.0 Voluum is a product that makes you want to pull your hair out and throw your laptop out of the window. You couldn't even pay me to use their product. To be fair, at least the company is consistent: the platform is as terrible as their support team and as terrible as their pricing. Pros Nothing. This platform has been pure pain - from the support to how the platform actually works. Cons Voluum is a product which is so bad in so many ways, that at some point you can’t help but laugh out loud. That is, until you realize you sunk well over a 1000 bucks into it, and spent a full week on getting it to work. There’s a fair bit to unpack here, so let’s just start from the top. If you’re buying Voluum you are doing so because you probably want to track your affiliate sales, most likely through paid campaigns. The way Voluum works though is so utterly confusing and needlessly complicated, that you’ll probably spent up multiple days to a full week on just figuring out the platform. What doesn’t help is that the documentation is incredibly dense, poorly written and often outdated. Some critical pieces of documentation are missing in their entirety. And when I asked their support for help (in this case, setting up tracking for one of my partners), they told me they could do so for a sum of $149 - that is, if I’d provide them with all of the necessary documentation from said partner in advance. At this point I could have gotten angry, but in a way I also felt impressed by how completely devoid of shame this company is. Imagine this: you’re asking for the most basic of support from a company where you just became a customer, and their first instinct is to slap you with a $149 bill. Essentially, with Voluum nothing “just works”. Everything, from setting up tracking on your website to integrating partners to integrating Google Ads, is an absolute nightmare. And it isn’t as if it \*has\* to be like this. A Voluum competitor which I switched to lets you set up all of this stuff in just a few hours - most of it is completely automated. This platform also offers way more features than Voluum and costs me about 1/5th of the price, which is mind-boggling (I won’t mention their name here because I don’t want to make it seem like I’m shilling for them. But if you want to know who they are, just Google my name and reach out to me.). The thing that ultimately drove me to said competitor is that I found out after being neck-deep immersed Voluum, that the most important feature I purchased it for wasn’t included in my plan. I didn’t know this. And not only because this feature was buried somewhere deep in their specs list under an incredibly obfuscated term (“Postbacks for custom conversions”, which doesn’t cover what you need the feature for at all). But also because the feature is so basic, and so fundamental to what probably 95% of Voluum users want to use the platform for, that it didn’t even cross my mind that it might not be included in my plan (we’re talking here about passing back Google Ads conversions via API, which you need for tracking Google Ads sales - also applies for other ad networks). In order for this to work, the Voluum support team kindly told me that I would have to upgrade from their €144 per month plan to their €577 per month plan. (Just to put this into perspective, their competitor offers this feature already in their cheapest plan which costs €59 per month.) At this point, I didn’t know whether I wanted to laugh or cry. Bottom line: Voluum might be the worst piece of software conceived by one of the most scummy companies which ever graced the face of this earth. Credit where credit is due though: it is quite impressive to be such a rip off of a company and still be in business. Steer clear from them and preserve your time, money and sanity. Despite cancelling the plan, I was rebilled for thousands of dollars and refused a refund despite raising a concern within 24 hours of the rebill (which was a mistake on their part). Unethical company I would not work with. If you care about your money and data, I would look elsewhere. Pros Ample tracking features for most traffic sources. Cons Despite being with Voluum for many years, and explicitly informing them that I will not be renewing my annual plan, they charged my credit card for thousands of dollars. Attempts to reach out to the customer support team to resolve the issue has been futile. Disgusting, money-grabbing company that I would avoid at all costs. Its the best tracking tool everyone must have. All campaigns in one dashboard, lots and lots of statistics - everything you may need. Integrations with majority of traffic sources makes it easy to set up. Features allow you to optimize campaign flows easily as well as a traffic distribution AI that can redistribute traffic automatically for best efficiency. A/B testing made easy.
