It's quick, simple, and expressive, the extensive primitives are very helpful, and the more effort you put in the better it gets. It's also incredibly useful to be able to share a prototype as a website and get comments. Pros 1\. Generating interactive prototypes incredibly quickly, thanks to a very small learning curve and a reasonably intuitive interface. 2. With a little extra effort, generating high-fidelity prototypes that pretty much match anything other (much) more expensive and complex packages can do. 3. Modifying prototypes on the fly in brainstorming meetings. 4. Openly sharing focused prototypes with others in a few clicks. 5. Dynamically incorporating Balsamiq slides into Miro boards. Cons As the creator, when a prototype gets moderately complex, it's easy to get a bit lost as there is no overall graph of the site you have created. You can add a site map as a slide, but it just lists the pages with no way to see the link structure. We used the notes features to take real time infos from the sessions with the client. Permit nice output designs and collaborative work ( we worked like 8 people to the same project, remotely). Pros Nice design options, nice graphic boards to represent the outputs. A lot of features to offer and a stable piece of software. Cons Quite low speed some time, quite difficult to retrieve a project using browser link, functional but low speed. Some people might think that its simplicity makes it hard to use for more complex designs, but it's still a popular choice for fast prototyping and ideation in many design projects. Pros Balsamiq's best features are its quick prototyping with an easy-to-use drag-and-drop interface, its ability to help people work together with real-time edits, and its low cost. Users of all skill levels can quickly learn how to use it because it has wireframes that look like sketches, a lot of different uses, and seamless interaction. Cons Some users find that Balsamiq's approach to high-detail design work is limited by the fact that it is meant to be easy and low-fidelity. It is very easy to use, and provides common components required for sketching a website. It has great presentation mode to quickly demonstrate your ideas to clients or your team, and it emphasizes feature-first approach as it can be used to demonstrate layout and features before the nitty gritty graphic details. Cons Although Balsamiq is great, it lacks a lot of features. It has very little collaboration options to work together with your team. Resizing elements in Balsamiq is clunky, and it does not have a snappy drag and drop with grids which a lot of other wireframing tools provide. It also does not have any options for extending the mockups with colors, which might be required in many cases. The company is great, the tool is very helpful Pros I'm not a "visual" thinker, but Balsamiq makes it easy to put ideas into a visual format to share with various teams. Cons The initial learning curve was a little steep for someone like me without a design background. But even so, it is much easier than alternatives! Much simpler. The fact that the desktop and cloud versions are completely separate isn't ideal.
