Great PMS in general, always advise Mews as a top product (though it comes with the price tag). For large hostels, chains or large hotels, I believe this is the most future proof PMS for the time being.

Pros

\- Flexibility of product - Large number of integrations - Continuous development to improve the product.

Cons

\- Support emails aren't clearly handled, they need a dedicated support portal to follow tickets. Right now following up on old tickets means searching old emails as each response from Mews creates a new email chain without any context.

Mews constantly helps us to streamline our operations and get smarter about the way we work and find new revenue streams. We have since covid (we turned to Mews in sep 2019) been breaking new revenue records almost every month, this would not have been possible without Mews and all the integrations that comes along!

Pros

Working mostly in the backend of the system it has been revolutionary for me, and the hotel, when we switched to Mews about 5 years ago, the number of integrations and how easily they connect is nothing like I've seen before. So do yourself a favor and switch from that legacy system of yours to Mews and the revenue streams will open.

Cons

Not much really but do mind now if you switch from a legacy system that you pay every 1-2 years to do an upgrade to get some new functions. With Mews you need to keep yourself and the staff alert on new functions and constantly evolve with the system to get the most out of it. In Mews updates come every week, some big some small. With great functionality comes great responsibility to use it.

MEWS is modern, has big goals, but they are far away from the reality. Mostly we have guest for business-reasons and from companies. Invoicing makes double work. Business guests can't pay with credit card, the check-in-terminal works great for private guests, for business-guests it's unusable

Pros

Patent solution is working fine, if you have no Business guests or Companies or Cost assumption declaration. For holiday-Hotels MEWS maybe work fine, for business hotels it's a nightmare.

Cons

No payment solutions für Business-partners, workflow extremely bad for business-partners. They are not able to enter their business addresses together with the booking. For this reason all Business-invoices has to be cancelled and manually new written. Sorry, that's only ugly. Nobody helps if you have problems. When starting with MEWS there isn't anybody you can ask. Workflow is very special and needs time to understand, very much time and faults happens in this time.

very limited touch reservations - before we had to take payment for all of them manually. the guest communication emails are helpful

if you want software to manage rooms and booking engine this is for you. we are a wedding venue so its not been quite as adaptable as we wanted it to be.

Cons

onboarding was very complicated and set up was all on the venue, we had a lot of pre paid deposits to move over from old system and this was manual

While there were a few adjustments needed at the beginning, Mews has proven to be a reliable and forward-thinking PMS that continues to support our goals for innovation and guest satisfaction.

Pros

The best part about Mews is its automation and ease of use. Features like online check-in/out, automated payments, and real-time updates across departments save us time and reduce human error. The interface is modern and intuitive, which makes training staff much easier. Also, the flexibility to access the system from anywhere is a big plus.

Cons

The least part is it's business intelligence reporting. But when you first get the hang of it and get to know it. Then is works. But knowing it will have some extra focus the future. Then we can live with it.

Service has become a nightmare with MEWS over the last few months, as it is almost non existent. New and necessary features take forever to be launched. Support tickets are not handled properly and closed without an answer.

Pros

Great cloud based PMS that allow me to connect at any time and from anywhere, even smartphone. Nice and clear user interface. It is very intuitive and very easy to get used to the system. The payment gateway is perfect and the team do not waste time anymore entering charges in the CC device. Also errors has decreased. 100% recommended!

Cons

You need to get used working differently because it is not like other classic PMS's but once you get used to it is much easier and probably will never move back to classic PMS with old fashion look. It is not the cheapest PMS but it is not the most expensive either but it is worth to pay. The card gateway has a commission slightly higher than probably commission straight from the bank but again it makes work much easier so worth again to pay for it.

Pros

Mews erleichtert uns die Arbeit an der Rezeption enorm. Die automatisierten Prozesse, insbesondere der Zahlungsabwicklung, erleichtern uns den Arbeitsablauf. Die Integration des Kiosks ist ebenfalls für uns klasse, da wir nicht auf Drittanbieter zurückgreifen müssen. Durch Mews sparen wir eine Menge Papier. Listen sind digital, sowohl für den Frühstücksservice als auch für das Housekeeping. Die gesamte Automatisierung (inkl Guest journey) gibt uns mehr Zeit für den Gast vor Ort.

Cons

Der Support war anfangs sehr spät, das hat sich aber deutlich gebessert. Manche Anwendungsfälle sind noch nicht komplett durchdacht und können noch verbessert werden (Beispiel Splitrechnung).

When choosing new PMS for our hostel we've made a deep research of most existing solutions in the market and when we came across MEWS we realized that this is the one we were looking for. Soul Kitchen is an award-winning hostel, we never stop improving and always eager to create new experiences for our guests, . And so does MEWS, getting to know their team was like meeting friends with similar vision. I Love every aspect of MEWS: the design is pleasant and functional, it works from any device and works fast, online check-in feature is great and many guests actually use it before they arrive, it was easy to train staff and to migrate from another system, rate management is effortless and joyful, it integrates with Booking Suite giving me the rates of our competitors. What I like the most is very helpful and professional customer support. I cannot recommend MEWS highly enough.

I got to know MEWS 2 years before they launched the Commander and fell in love with the idea. I adopted the software in a new hotel that I was working on and was one of the first to use it in the world. Being a startup, there were small issues in the beginning, but the idea that was presented to me 2 years earlier, worked perfectly in my very busy, high volume hotel Mosaic House. I love the progress and forward thinking that the guys from MEWS produced and I look even more forward to all the connections to the PMS system that they are integrating currently. Highly recommended.

We use MEWS at Teleport Hotels and must say it was an excellent choice. MEWS is very elegant and smart solution for modern hoteliers. It saves time of manual work which can be spent more wisely. Front desk can concentrate on improving guest's satisfaction. At the same time managers have a perfect overview. We especially like that everything is in one place and can be done with minimal amount of clicks. MEWS team is highly responsive and cooperation with them is always fun. They offer online check in and together with their partners check in kiosks which we hope to start using in coming months.

Overall experience with mews is very good especially with the Mews Community features and collaboration offered.

Pros

The mews marketplace is a comprehensive list of apps which integrate with mews and are very easy to setup.

Cons

Not much I dislike about mews. Credit card processing is done via a mews master account and therefore there is not a direct relationship with the credit card processor making dispute resolution and accounting reconciliation more difficult to process.

If you’re considering MEWS PMS, don’t waste your time. Seriously. After months of trying to work with this company, I’ve learned the hard way that their priorities are completely out of touch with the hospitality industry. The \[sensitive content hidden\] seems far more interested in making TikTok videos than in actually developing or refining the product. From day one, it’s been nothing but frustration. During the demo, we were told the system could do everything — cancel reservations through the guest portal, customize add-ons during booking, manage everything seamlessly in one window. But once we got into setup, the truth came out: it can’t. Guests can’t cancel reservations on their own, add-ons are so restricted it would cost us significant upsell revenue, and the interface opens new browser tabs like it’s 2008. The whole system feels unrefined, clunky, and nowhere near intuitive. Even the booking engine doesn’t make sense. We specifically don’t want guests booking multiple rooms, yet that’s the only way MEWS displays availability. And it even shows rooms that don’t fit the number of guests traveling — talk about confusing. For a product that’s supposed to “simplify” operations, it does the exact opposite. Support is another nightmare. They love to brag about their “AI chat and bookable phone calls,” but the reality is: the AI can’t answer basic questions, and phone calls have to be scheduled two days out. When you’re paying for a premium service, waiting two days for help is completely unacceptable. I’m hiring them to make my life easier — not the other way around. To top it off, getting demo access in the first place was almost impossible. Now I understand why — they probably don’t want too many people realizing how rough the system actually is. And if that’s not enough of a red flag, try researching their reviews. You’ll quickly notice that not all of them are written by real users — some appear to come from current or former MEWS employees. That explains why the online praise sounds so disconnected from the real-world experience. I sent a formal letter on Monday to terminate the implementation, clearly outlining the reasons, and as of now, they haven’t even responded. That tells you everything you need to know about their so-called “customer support.” After consulting with my business advisor, it became obvious: MEWS is full of red flags. They overpromise, underdeliver, and show little regard for the clients who are supposed to be their partners. I deeply regret ever attempting to switch, even after doing all my due diligence. Bottom line — save yourself the stress, the wasted hours, and the headache. Don’t waste your time.

What we liked most about MEWS was… well, everything it was supposed to be. On paper, it sounded like a dream PMS: A modern, cloud-based system designed to simplify operations. A sleek booking engine that could handle everything from upsells to cancellations with ease. AI-powered support that’s always there when you need it. Unfortunately, none of that turned out to be true. In reality, guests can’t cancel reservations through the portal like we were told. Adding extra items or upsells during booking is so restricted it would literally cost us revenue. The system constantly opens new browser tabs instead of working in one clean window. And the interface? It’s confusing, clunky, and anything but intuitive.

Cons

Finally, what we liked least of all was the lack of honesty and accountability. When we brought up issues, we got excuses, delays, or silence. I sent a formal termination letter on Monday — it’s now days later, and still no response. That pretty much sums up their “customer care.”
