What was once a painful task of collating documetns, following up and then data entry is now a simple task for our business and we can trust that everything is taken care of directly in the system. Cons Looking forward to Employment Hero increasing functionality with the Xero API. We have trouble with the timesheets data and superannuation information syncing from the employee portal into Xero. The visual imagery of this program makes it easier to use also. Cons Leave balances don't update daily like most programs, instead you have to wait fortnightly. Also, when taking leave you must select individual days or consecutive only if they are the same type of leave. This makes mapping out long term leave (such as Parental leave) time consuming. E.g imagine you want to use 2 days of Annual leave, 2 days of Parental leave (paid or unpaid) and 1 day of Long Service Leave in an application? Also, extracting leave related data is not so straight forward as it looks. Literally every helpful feature that was marketed to us was glitchy and made things harder. Cons Every feature has issues. The induction set up is useless, rostering and budgeting unusable, payroll system glitchy and not logical. There is no proper instructions on how to use it so there is no way you will be able to figure it out. Half the instructions they do have are wrong or outdated. A large percentage of the features dont work. And then they'll try and charge you hundreds of dollars for a phone call to sort it out even though there was no hope you could get it right without contacting them. This has cost our company hugely in money and time to trouble shoot the constant issues and glitches, it would have been far easier and cheaper to do it manually. Not to mention that it has made the company look very unprofessional. Most of the reviews on these sites are rigged as they are from people who work at employment hero. Disgusting. June 2, 2022 5.0 Pros The implementation and onboarding process has been one of the easiest to navigate. With fantastic modules plus prompting and regular support from the Employment Hero team, it was a breeze to set up. We are enjoying being more organised and saving time with less manual processing of tasks and documents. Cons There is a lot to set up and we did feel the pressure to meet the implementation target date. Now that we have worked out the kinks, I'm very excited for how we can use Employment Hero! Pros Almost everything can be done through Employment Hero, we are now moving towards an almost completely paperless onboarding and payroll system which is helping to streamline all of our admin processes. Cons Sometimes it wasn't very intuitive, things seem hidden in the menus, just took a while to get used to it. Brilliant in keeping requirements specific to your need in addition to ensuring they are up to date, whilst reminding you in time to book in for training. Cons Not really a con - there is so much functionality that there is a lot of learning on the go. Reason for choosing Employment Hero Flare seemed quite similar and was a strong contender - however it appeared to heavily market a super fund which totally turned us away. We like the approach of Employment Hero in their professionalism and understanding of business needs. Started much later than we clearly said that we needed. Was auto enrolled into hours of webinars with two days notice with no regards for our full calendar and business travel commitments. Am currently considering dropping down to the minimum number of employees to see out my contract and then putting my team in another software solution - and that includes LMS and Payroll. We expected a lot more from conversations on the sales calls. Hasn't lived up to promises in Payroll either. Xero has better payroll system with more functionality and better value. There are much better value LMS systems out there as well. (TalentLMS) Pros Had potential if it was delivered as promised, the problem is getting it set up has been extremely difficult. Cons The setup process has been a disappointing experience. Cons For what I needed it for, there isn't really much I don't like. Probably the only thing would be that there are fields in Employment Hero that I had to manual enter because it is not captured in my accounting software, which is more of a problem with the accounting software. Very difficult to deal with. No system to the implementation and the customer is expected to be able to bend to fit the product and how Employment Hero want to deliver it. Pros Easy straightforward interface with integration of many common features of an HR/Payroll platform. Cons Cannot remove the 'Benefits' function which appears to be a shallow feature, to sell advertising from which they earn revenue at the expense of the client. Certificates/compliance reviews! Pros The ease of use and roll out has been fantastic. The cloud based system doesn't require dedicated IT resources and can managed and rolled out by anyone. The paperless onboarding/contract signing is fantastic! Cons To upload and edit HR documents requires mark up and emailing to the support team. Onboarding doesnt force the staff member to fill out all relevant personal data fields. Onboarding module doesnt apply to contractors thus I have to add them through the employee side (whilst stipulating that they are a contractor). Pros Integration was easy from the beginning, easy to use which got my vote, definitely love employee benefits and recommend other employer to use, I’ve never experienced an app like this Cons First time I forgot my password I reset it but never received the link to reset, I kept doing this again but received nothing, I later reset using my laptop and realised it might have been my phone or using it from my phone, i could perhaps include a note saying to try resetting while on a desktop or laptop so no time is wasted. When I have updated policies I can notify staff right away and staff love having an app they can access any time with these details. Pros I love that there is one platform where you keep all of your HR and payroll data. Prior to EH joining our business pays took me 5 hours to process now it only take approx 20 minutes. Cons It took us a while to get everything set up accurately but once it was customized it saves me hours every week. The app could be better and have more functionality. February 1, 2018 4.0 Pros Functionality of having the mobile app for employees to log their leave requests, timsheets, view the staff directory and the web-based userface for being able to record, track and manage employees. Also, the on-boarding features are very time sufficient. In the past, our company documented everything manually and printed pages of contracts which would require a physical with signature. Now with Employment Hero everything is completed on the platform and located in one central location and new employees have the ability to login and view as well as digitally sign their employment contract/offer of employment. The ability to review payslips is also a great and private feature of Employment Hero - It is something we are not using at the moment but at looking at phasing out in the near future. Cons I don't really have any con's of the software application within Employment Hero. Maybe the opportunity to have a Time in Lieu (TOIL) reporting system can be explored by the developers would assist us more in our operations functions.
