Overall we are very happy with Brightwheel and I don't think we could find another childcare program that would suit our needs as a drop-in center.

Pros

\-payment options for parents-only software we've found that can handle our drop-in model-fairly user friendly-parents enjoy the app and communication features

Cons

\-a few more options for adding information or symbols to students would be nice-doesn't really hide inactive students, which can be confusing/irritating-seems to have hang ups if used by the same parent for multiple centers

Reason for choosing brightwheel

Their billing (at the time anyway, I can't speak for the present) wasn't really set up to handle our drop-in model. The interface wasn't particularly inviting. It was the same price.

Really benefits for me and my husband. We feel at peace while working seeing my daughter is having fun in daycare.

Pros

As a parents, I find the app really easy to use and navigate. This app serve as a form of communication on how may daughter's day went thru. And I absolutely love it! Even make childcare cost more worthy! I feel like this app is just all in one package. From attendance to what activities she did and payment.

Cons

Moving forward, I would love to see video pr a learning story formated. I feel like having an option to put a story part about my child in daycare is also awesome to see. but all in all, I really appreciate this app and cant ask for more

Pros

What I like most in Brightwheel is the engagement of parents in the learning of their children. In this software, parents have the power to monitor and keep track with the attendance and performance of their children, as well as be able to remind their children of the things that they need to do.

Cons

What I like least in this software is its price. More institutions and learners can be able to access it and experience it if it is in cheaper price.

Overall wonderful experience! No complaints.

Pros

I loved all of the features on Brightwheel to be honest. The staff is able to send out important information to everyone to keep us in the loop on events/updates of the daycare. I am able to message a staff member individually or message all of the staff to ensure a quick response. I love getting notifications about what my child is eating, how much they are eating, bathroom habits, and picture updates! Puts this momma heart at ease while at work. The checking in and checking out my child feature is super easy to do with just a 4 digit pin that I can do from the app or the iPad at the daycare and it also alerts me through the app when my child is checked in and checked out ensuring their safety. Payment information and sending documents through the app makes it a one stop shop for pure convenience.

Cons

I cannot think of anything the app needs to change or update. It is phenomenal.

So far, any time I've been confused or needed help with something, my needs have been met immediately. The service they are providing for the price they are providing it at is absolutely incredible. It has made everything I have always hoped to include in my daycare program easy, accessible and all in one place!

Pros

I have everything I need in one place! Finally, I can handle billing and receiving payment, scheduling, admitting, messaging, tracking, attendance and communication all in one place!

Cons

I'd have to say my least favorite thing about Brightwheel is how difficult it is to access attendance records.

Brightwheel's monthly charge is half of what Procare was charging, and they do everything Procare promised they would do but didn't: easy admissions process, document uploads for providers and parents, a very professional looking feed for the kids, a place to schedule both staff and kids. All of it really is amazing, a huge improvement over Procare.

Cons

My overall experience has been 10/10! We love Brightwheel and have gotten all 3 of our centers started on Brightwheel! We recommend it to everyone!

Pros

When choosing a childcare engagement app, I was looking for something that was user friendly. The last app we used was not user friendly and parents were not getting the items we needed to communicate to them. Brightwheel not only allows us to get electronic daily reports to parents, but parents/staff can communicate directly about their child's day. Once I realized that Brightwheel also handled billing so much easier than Procare I was sold on the app!

Cons

My least like about Brightwheel when we signed up was they did not process payroll. Now that they include payroll in their system we are switching fully from our previous childcare managment software!

Brightwheel was chosen because of the ease of not only implementing billing but our curriculum as well. Its a all inclusive app that we and our families have access to at all times.

Great just simply great!

Pros

The biggest latest impact that made me write this review today is that Brightwheel is not just for Daycares, they have recently added AMI Montessori Materials list in the Lessons. The second biggest one I can send a link to families who are interested and they can fill it out and be added to the prospect student list.

Cons

The full billing feature not being offered in Canada. :( Hopefully one day they will I have been using bright wheel for all else and adding more. We can still invoice and add to profile to student, however, we cannot collect the payment.

I would like to be able to make a billing change en mass. For instance, we closed for covid, or an ice day, and I had to credit the entire roster...one at a time.

Pros

Love that it's one platform/tool that allows you to have everything school related in one spot (medical records/vaccines, billing, school calendar, updates on what your child is doing throughout the day, real-time alerts for emergencies). I will emphasize the updates on what your child is doing, as it allows for education continuum from school to home! 3.5 year olds aren't great at recalling various activities they did during the day, so it's helpful to know via Brightwheel in order to engage them in conversation and continue the learning at home!

Cons

I need to figure out a way to keep the alerts on my phone so I remember to follow up (if follow up is needed). If I'm busy at work and I get an alert, I need to remember to go back in and do what it says (like volunteer for "x" or don't forget to send your child to school w/ "y") .

Pros

I like the attendance and report features. The communication and daily report tracking features. Billing and payments. Brightwheel is continually adding features and improving their product and the price remains the same. Great help files!

Cons

Payroll and scheduling for employees isn't user friendly and developed. It's the main piece we are missing to be able to exclusively use brightwheel.

Honestly-Nothing! As a parent who uses this app daily I find it to be awful!

Cons

This software does not allow you to see multiple kids at once on a feed without going back and forth. Going back and forth between children is a pain!! Then when I select a child the default is Profile view, I am the parent I don't care about the profile I want to go right to my child's feed. It would be nice if there was a quick view to check in and just see a quick update of all my children on the home screen. There are times when I only have a minute or two to look quick and I just can't with all the back and forth clicking between kids and not being able to see their feeds without some more clicking. I also hate that when a nap is ended it doesn't show the time napped. I only get that at the end of the day when I get a summary after my kids are checked out. I know I can look and see when they started and then when it ended and figured it out, but the starts are not always logged and visible. A summary on their feed would be nice. I also know there are other glitches with this app especially with the pay and checking in and out of kids. My daycare center does not like this app either, but they don't have a choice. The app that was used before this was called Daily Connect and it was absolutely wonderful. You could leave notes, see feeds or multiple kids for quick glances. Yes, there was not payment option on that to keep things simple, but bright wheel doesn't keep things simple now. As a parent & daily user of this app w/ multiple kids , it is TERRIBLE!

Pros

Brightwheel is a highly secure and reliable tool having following features: - Easy to record and maintain student attendance and check ins - Very easy to generate invoices and payment receipts - Helps in capturing and generating live feeds of the classroom

Cons

Although brightwheel is a wonderful tool but app lags sometimes. Also, some features can be improved like privately sending messages to parents without other teachers knowledge.

Pros

I use brightwheel for my children's daycare and I love the ease of use, and that I get all notifications for my child, whether it be good or bad.

Cons

I dislike that on the app I am not able to change my credit card information.

Benefits are many. Communication with families is #1. Easy of online payments and automatic notifications of upcoming invoices is great. Love the lesson plans part of it too.

Pros

Easy to use! Support is awesome and quick. Made my preschool WAY more efficient and saves me as Director a LOT of time. Parents love the connection between home and school.

Cons

I don't use the medical part of adding immunizations? We still keep a paper copy in the student's actual file. It would be nice if it could be "scanned" or uploaded?

Brightwheel app has a potential to make things easier for parents to communicate with the daycare center. Parents would like to know the children's day/monthly schedule, anything (time/items) that they can contribute to the day care center and would like to see how their children are doing while being in Daycare. Please help the daycare center to utilize the app maximally, so that the parents will be well informed about their children.

Pros

This app potentially facilitates the communication between the parents and daycare center, if the app is utilized well. I see the messages from the daycare center, and probably will be able to see pictures/videos if they are uploaded (parents love to see how their children are doing in Daycare). Another great feature is for the parents to be able to pay with a credit card and we are able to set up an auto pay. This is great for parents who need to file education tax benefits, needing billing/payment statement. Given that some daycares are still accepting only for cash or checks, letting parents use their credit card using the app and pay without delay are certainly a plus.

Cons

I think my daycare center hasn't been able to utilize the app fully. I would like to see the daycare's day to day schedule, how the children are doing there daily (through pictures/videos), lunch/snack menu, or monthly activities. I'm sure the app have these features, however it becomes of no use, if the daycare centers haven't been able to utilize the app fully. My request is Brightwheel communicates with the daycare centers and provide necessary support so that the app will be fully utilized to make things easier for the centers and parents.

Overall our experience has been really great. There were some serious issues when we decided to use Brightwheel billing. I'm certain those issues have been documented, but we seem to be good now. I have been a big fan of Brightwheel and sincerely look forward to what's next!

Pros

I love how much Brightwheel has improved since we first joined the program. Administration, Parents and Staff love all of the features. I am very happy with the way Brightwheel has fostered "community" between home and school, and even school and extended family. Grandparents love seeing their grandchildren and being in the loop. Community is very important to our program! I appreciate the level of professionalism Brightwheel adds to my program. Touring families always have great comments about Brightwheel.

Cons

I wish multiple accounts could be under one umbrella login. I do not like having to log out and log in to my three programs. We have an account with ADP and use just one login for all 3 programs. I simply just have to click which program I need to see. I wish I could access a simple version of a class list with birthdays and just parents names and emails without all of their personal information. Parents request class lists quite often for birthday party invitations. Perhaps even an "opt-in" directory for parents to see would be a great feature. Parents could choose to include email/phone numbers in the "public" directory.

WONDERFUL...until Billing changes that took a child's at-a-glance and all-inclusive account and broke it into several links within their account making it very convoluted.

Pros

Brightwheel works so very well to seamlessly bring together students, families, and staff. It works great for attendance, communication between staff and families.

Cons

Brightwheel had a wonderful billing system until the recent upgrade. The ability to look into a child's account and be able to see and comprehend a paper trail of billing, credits, adjustments, and refunds. However; with the new billing platform this is a luxury of the past. Now it is nearly impossible to decode what has happened in a child's account if there is anything out of the ordinary such as credits, adjustments or refunds. You simply can't see them without some major digging, drilling-down and then research as it kind of "wipes away" the electronic paper-trail in a sense and makes it difficult to get to the bottom of transaction flow in an account.

Brightwheel is a great product for teachers/staff, parents and admin. It's so easy to use and quick to teach new staff! I love Brightwheel and couldn't imagine my center without! We are so pleased and happy with Brightwheel services and the Brightwheel employees are quick and sufficient replies!

Pros

I like how the parents at my daycare see photos and videos of their child/ren that our staff posts on their throughout the day. I also like the messaging piece between teacher & parents as ell as administrative and parents too. I like how teachers can keep track of their children and post activities regarding the Mother Goose curriculum

Cons

The integration with Brightwheel within my center was ease, I have no cons about Brightwheel it is amazing and helps us a lot at my center!

Fees a little to expensive for small business.

My general involvement with Brightwheel, is extremely positive. I like what it has got to offer. The great platform for early schooling and daycare Brightwheel is a best management software program solution for childcares.

Pros

There are numerous highlights to utilize within the premium account but also has pleasant alternatives within the free version. It is an extraordinary app to advance our parent teachers communication. which gives a great impact on children.

Cons

I really don't have any complaints regarding Brightwheel's performence. A slight bother would be that sometime the app diverts you to their site to for payments, but it's still all totally open from your smartphone which is quite good.
