I was looking for a software program for my center and happened on to Brightwheel. I couldn't be happier ! It's ease of use for staff and parents is perfect. They are always improving and very responsive to concerns and/or ideas. I seriously do not know what I would do without it. As a director I am at meetings and the office frequently and it is such a peace of mind that with the app I know exactly what is going on to room ratios at all times! The billing option too -- no more paper bills !!

It’s a great way to stay in communication with parents!

Pros

It’s easy to use. I understood the basic process of how to check in children, send messages, and update information.

Cons

It’s a small thing but I don’t like that when you are adding an activity to a child that it doesn’t always list the child’s name up top. As someone who is constantly getting interrupted throughout the day, I feel like I constantly have to start over because I forgot which child I was on.

Pros

As a parent bright wheel is fantastic I get updates and photos during the day of my child. It also allows me to stay in touch with the teacher.

Cons

I wish there was a way to connect with the other parents in the class via the app. For questions/playsates etc.

Pros

I was really nervous about something new at our center. I didn't know if the parents would like it or it would be just something more to do. It is great! Everyone figured it out quickly and we haven't had any troubles. The communication piece is awesome and easy to use.

Cons

It is great. Sometimes when I change classes, the previous class is now under the new class. I have to exit and retry. If I'm not carefully, I upload things to the wrong class.

Great app. Easy to use, and helpful customer service if you need it. App has some great features including photo and video. This is great for parents who want to experience their child's day. My parents love the photos and updates we send. They also love the messaging feature and it's somewhat interactive because parents respon to pictures that we post. Overall great app.

Pros

The video feature is great. I like the ease of the app and how self explainotry it is to use. Parents love it.

Cons

It's a bit pricy. Besides that, app is great.

Pros

I like that anyone can learn how to use it. The app is organized and easy to maneuver. All communication to and from parents is simple and saved! Anything we used to write on paper is now easily documented on this app and goes directly to parents!

Cons

Brightwheel is a battery drainer. I don't know if it is constantly trying to update the information while I am at work, but when using it my battery drains much faster than when it is not in use.

Over all we are pretty happy. I will be looking into different software within the year if some areas don’t improve.

Pros

Ease of use for check in, logging food and activities, attendance, and payments are pretty good

Cons

Some of the functionality of the payment system could use to be improved. The time clock side of things leaves a lot to be desired. When you approach customer service they can tend to tell you they just don’t do that rather than helping to find a solution.

Pros

Love how easy it is to communicate to the whole class individual or as a group !

Cons

I wish there was a way for teachers to switch accounts without having to log all the way out of one account just to log back into their account. Example: my co teacher is always logged in on the share classroom tablet. So if I were to send an email it says it comes from her. I would love to be able to just type in my code and it just swap to mine name(account)
