I also really appreciate how easy it is to use overall. This includes the interface, which is clean, modern, and intuitive, so it doesn’t take long to get familiar with, but also is a nice software to use. The customer support is quick and responsive, which makes a big difference when you need help. I also administer access such as meeting licensing, phone licensing, and meeting options for users. Pros Zoom Workplace provides the ability to have online meetings, either from office space or remote while also providing the ability to make or receive phone calls using the soft phone option via the app. It also provides the ability to integrate SSO which creates a seamless sign in for users while providing additional security for sign ins. Cons Zoom quite often has issues with cancelling or scheduling meetings if the app version falls two or three versions behind the latest version which can cause issues in a work environment if the app is not frequently updated. For webinars, it’s still my #1 choice. Once or twice a month something in my current setup doesn’t work - then we immediately switch to Zoom, because it almost never has issues. Cons I use a self-hosted Jitsi setup as my primary conferencing tool. My second choice is Google Meet, since I already pay for Google Workspace. I also already pay for Notion, which provides scheduling. For transcription, I use the free Voice Memos app and a self-hosted Whisper setup. With this stack, paying for Zoom has become inefficient. I love being able to call my teammates just a quick chat by seeing their status and when they are in meetings, busy, or available. I haven't had to use customer support too much but when I do they are always really quick to respond and make sure my problems are fixed. Cons There really aren't many things I dislike about Zoom but there are some weird bugs that come up from time to time but support is typically really fast and we're able to get back to video calls really quickly. Cons In some instances I've found Zoom to be a bit laggy or choppy, even if you maintain a strong internet connection with stable upload and download speeds. Originally I thought it was my internet service provider, but after validating the speeds I found it was just Zoom lagging especially during larger meetings. I run a mastermind and I wanted to try something new and funky and I tried about five other video call companies and none of them worked like Zoom. Pros Let's face it, this is the number one video call software. I've tried the other ones, and my guests do not like them. One of them only records the person who's talking, which makes it very difficult to go back later and have a decent video. Zoom does really good job with all the things: the AI notetaker, the summary that it creates, being able to have the recordings of the audio and the video. And then there's all the different things you can do during the call with screen sharing and sound sharing. There's filters to make us look better. They thought of everything at this point. Focus on team collaboration and communication is a great feature. I enjoyed using it but the company had to eventually move away to another software due to cost. Pros it is a great cost effective solution for a bigger business. we have transitioned away from it, but there were numerous pluses when we had it: easy integrations with other software, end-to-end encryption, focus on collaboration and communication, AI integration helped to transcribe and summarize video call meetings. quality of sound and video was always better compared to other software. Customer support was fast and helped fixed issues we had. Zoom keeps innovating and fixing bugs and issued overtime, which is important. It made it easy to manage recordings and files for later use. If bandwidth allows, you can do calls in HD video, do screensharing and create breakout rooms. Cons For a smaller business the cost becomes an inhibitor over time as team expends. having to pay per person per month can increase the cost substantially compared to other options.
