I’ve been using online booking software since starting my private tour company five years ago, primarily with Fare Harbor. While not perfect, they were generally responsive to issues. But when they announced a new 2% fee for facilitating third-party bookings — on top of what I already felt was declining customer service — I started feeling nickel-and-dimed. That’s when Peek entered the picture. Their sales rep, \[sensitive content hidden\] had reached out during peak season last year, but I wasn’t about to overhaul my booking system while actively running tours. Ironically, the same day I got notice of Fare Harbor's new fee, \[sensitive content hidden\] followed up. His timing was perfect, so I agreed to hear him out. He promised better technology, personalized attention, and stronger customer support — it sounded promising enough to give Peek a try. Onboarding started well. The trainer walked me through setup over a few Zoom calls, highlighting key features. But when my booking site went live late on a Friday, everything went wrong. Connections failed across the board — Tripadvisor, GetYourGuide, my own website — all broken. I emailed the onboarding specialist immediately, only to get an out-of-office message wishing me a great weekend. Desperate, I turned to their AI chat system, which offered no solutions. Their so-called “live support” wasn’t available either. I lost an entire weekend of bookings with no help. By Monday, the onboarding specialist admitted she’d missed a crucial step in the setup. Over the next week, automated emails flooded my inbox — canned messages claiming my system was running smoothly, offering surveys, or saying “we’re working on it.” Meanwhile, I was still dealing with bugs and only communicating with the specialist directly. Unfortunately, some of those automated messages appeared to come from her account, which buried a real request to schedule another Zoom session. When I finally found that message and replied — five days later — Peek informed me my onboarding window had closed. Any further issues? Deal with their help desk. That marked the beginning of an endless, frustrating cycle. Their chatbot offered solutions that failed 90% of the time. If escalated to “live support,” I’d get a canned message saying due to staffing shortages, they'd switch to email — responses often took days, sometimes longer. By the time help arrived, I had either solved the problem myself or forgotten what the issue was entirely. Every ticket closed with the same grating “How’d we do?” email — adding insult to injury. The final straw? A glitch that prevented me from updating my private tour pricing. Despite repeated requests for help, the issue went unresolved for two weeks. My last plea for support was on June 16, 2025. Peek finally replied — partially addressing the issue — on July 1. By then, I had already pulled the plug. I re-integrated my website with FareHarbor, and within a week, everything was running smoothly again. Meanwhile, Peek finally responded to my pricing issue, completely oblivious that I’d already moved on. If you’re considering Peek for booking software, be prepared: their promises sound great, but my experience was nothing but missed connections, poor support, and endless frustration.

### "Horrible Experience – Peek Pro Cost Me My Client, Money, and Reputation"

I run Jewel Vacations, a Destination Management Company based in Jamaica, and I’m warning other business owners to STAY AWAY from Peek Pro. This has been one of the worst business decisions I’ve ever made. From the moment we integrated Peek, it’s been a complete disaster. --- 🚫 What Went Wrong: Website Crashes for Months Their system caused my website to crash repeatedly, with no help to fix it. This caused major customer loss, and I’m still dealing with the consequences. Wrong Prices Shown to Clients Peek’s system automatically changed pricing on tours without my input. A high-value booking had to be canceled due to this, costing me money and credibility. Booking ID B-ZY3N4K8 Still Not Refunded Their mistake caused me to cancel this booking, and now their system won’t even allow me to process the refund. I’ve lost the client permanently and still haven’t received any help. No Response to Emails or Support Tickets I emailed them days ago. No reply. Their chat doesn’t work, and you can’t even get someone on the phone. For a business platform, this is unacceptable. No Help to Remove Them or Restore My Website I’ve requested they take their integration off my site and help restore it. Silence. --- ⚠️ Final Word: Peek Pro has cost my company clients, money, and reputation. There has been zero accountability or support. If you're a business owner, think very carefully before trusting them. This platform can do real damage, and you will be on your own when it breaks. I'm taking this review public across platforms to protect other businesses from suffering the same fate.

Great in the beginning, awful now. Wouldn’t recommend to my biggest competitors at this point

When I first started with this company 10 years ago the customer service was amazing, in the last 3 years it has gone completely down hill.

Cons

Dispute team is a JOKE! They are zero help and don’t answer your questions, that’s if you can get them to email you back in the first place. They will shut your bookings down and not say anything to you if you don’t do all their merchant changes, even if you don’t agree with them. Don’t even get me started on the delay of them depositing funds into your account if they’re not withholding them for some unknown reason like not providing information thY doesn’t change every year.

Customer service.Cancelled my account because of the poor communication of their agents. Once I asked to cancel my account, they didnt even ask why, not even hesitated.

I reached out to a few booking companies and Peek was the only one to respond. They have been great at communicating, open to questions and helpful in the startup process. Their software has been very easy to pick up and start using. Their prices are very comparable and fair.

Traumatic, horrible, disappointing, frustrating, and time-consuming. They illegally filter out negative reviews. I'm now with Fareharbor and very happy.

Pros

The integrated waiver was helpful as was the pre-tipping feature.

Cons

I've switched booking systems several times for different reasons. By far the worst was Peek Pro. Customer service consistently took over a week to respond. I had an emergency and called customer service, texted, used the chat, and even reached out to my initial onboarding specialist and heard only crickets for 6 days!! I felt completely unsupported and they negatively impacted my business. They bring you on and then hang you out to dry.

Recently (July 15t, 2024) Peek has updated their Payment system and all users had to register for the new program. I have been trying to register on that for almost 2 weeks and because of a bug, I am not being able to complete this procedure. Due to that, my account is basically blocked and we are not being able to receive reservations neither we are being able to transfer our funds to our bank account. We understand changes are necessary but if you are encoutering an issue on your side, you do not harm your clients because of that. So far, I spoke to several employees from the Customer service, only through chat and email and no one is finding a solution to that. Ridiculous...

### "Falls Short of Promises"

We really wanted to love Peek, and spent a lot of time vetting the software before deciding. Lot's of promices were made as to its functionality, yet failed to deliver on them. It's a good system for a beginner or simple items, but if you want a flawless functionality that is robust and will take your business to the next level, then this is not the system for you. When you discover that the system can't do certain items they put in a feature request to happen sometime in the future. When you call customer support to ask for help and you discover it's a 10 step process to do something simple and you express your displeasure they just say "I'm so sorry the software is difficult for you to understand" Really? I've worked with and have built several different systems in my lifetime, and simple changes shouldn't be that difficult!

Pros

We moved to Peek after rigorous discussions with the company. The one thing it does over other softwares is the ability to book multiple pieces of equipment at the same time. We also like the calendar and manifest.

Cons

The software is inefficient and hard to manipulate based on needs, not to mention a lot more expensive then other softwares in this league. - Waiver Function is terrible. Can't search for waivers signed. Waivers have glitches and can get corrupted or just disapear. Support can't help find them either. - Can't apply discount to just certain items, it discounts the entire reservation. So if you discount a large group, then have to charge damages, the damages are then discounted. Also you can't override taxes & credit card fees. - Can't refund to store credit if guest drops a piece of equipment. You have to create a custom code per customer then email it to them. - Automatice Email & Text Message System is terrible! Can't customize text messages, so you have to send them to each guest individually. - System doesn't offer a waitlist feature. - They recommend using an ipad with their app so guests can sign waivers. However the app is the bare minimum so you constantly have to switch betwen the app and their web url in order to check in guests. Guests have to be given a booking ID at checkin to be able to sign and scan a QR Code. Using the URL on an iPad, you can't see the amount charged or amount owed as that section is cut off. It's very inefficient to have to use 3 different devises. A tablet for the app and URL, then a desktop to see the charges on the side of the screen. - Dynamic pricing and changing rates is combersome. Especially if you offer weekday, holiday, and weekend rates during different seasons.

The times that I had video calls with them were super helpful and informative! I recommend them for their amazing customer service.

Pros

Sooooo... I really really really needed Peek Pro. I found out about this software about 3 weeks ago and I am in my 3rd summer season of renting paddle boards and kayaks at my local lake. I was having to manually double book customers with my website. It took forever and I often forgot a booking or two during the busy weeks. Opps! That will never happen again with Peek. I am booking more rental than ever and now people are finding where I launch from without having to call me confused!

Cons

There are a few things that I would change because my business is not a traditional one. I run and operate my own business so having set hours is a challenge for me. I wish that I could make changes to my schedule weekly without having to make a whole new season. I would like to be able to add a rental during my non-open times if I want since it is my schedule. I would like to change my equipment available much easier than many clicks. This is me just being detailed! Make some updates, but seriously, my life has changed for the better because of this program. I recommend it for anyone in my field.

Peek Pro has made my life easier. All of our bookings are in one place but divided by date. I can see who has paid or where they are on payments or if they have only given a deposit. Customers get automatic text and emails now which is saving me a ton of time. They helped me set up a promo code which was a wonderful addition. I feel our website looks more professional and things are easier for me to manage now!

Pros

I LOVED all the support from Peek Pro. They gathered my information and started everything for me. We would have zoom calls (which they recorded for me) and they would make any changes I wanted and help me learn how to do things myself. They were very easy to work with and even found a "work around" for something that I requested that wasn't in the normal way of doing things. They made sure I liked the visuals, that the information was correct, they were always asking if I wanted anything added or changed. They would give suggestions...just overall made this so easy for me. They even made sure I understood how things would work if someone cancelled a booking and I needed to refund them money. I couldn't be happier with the outcome and feel this is a big win for our business!

### "Run run run they are car salesmen "

I wish I could give them a zero. I used FareHarbor and was completely happy. Peek/PeekPro sold me because they said they had a partnership with Viator and I would no longer pay any commissions on those bookings. LIE They also said they tracked cart abandonment and I would have access to the data. LIE  They said they had the fastest payment processing. Hilarious LIE. FareHarbor take about 3-4 days. PeekPro took 8-9 minimum.  They said all of their vendors automatically get listed on Musement. LIE  They said that the customers would not be redirected to another website but instead get a pop up for booking. LIE  They way they control bookings is by start time to end time so it makes it impossible to only close off certain bookings times without closing off others if there is any kind of overlap on times.  The app is complete trash. You have an option on there called activities that is completely useless. Nothing syncs to it. You can not create bookings from the app. You can not cancel bookings from the app. All you can do is check in and mark as returned. It’s utterly ridiculous an useless.  Do not get sold on the lies, PEEKPRO is trash. They charge $299 when FareHarbor does not charge anything. PeekPro has to sell you on lies because they are a subpar product.

Pros

I used FareHarbor for years and was sold a bunch of lies. There was not a single redeeming feature on PeekPro.

Cons

Inability to quickly change booking times and the inability to create any bookings on the app. The app is a joke.

I switched from Fare Harbor a few years ago and I've had a pretty consistently good experience with Peek since then.

Pros

The customer service has been the beat feature by far. The software is relatively intuitive and well designed. I have multiple guides that are easily able to use it.

Cons

Other newer features are great in theory but haven't worked well for us personally like the tipping option. The embeddable review widget was terrible and did not update or work properly when I tried to use it on my website. I also wish there was a way to aggregate the answers to the question "how did you hear about us?" that customers answer at the time of registration. Also, it would be nice if the emails were more mobile friendly. It took me tons of trial and error to format them so they are readable on mobile phones, because that is how the majority of customers are viewing them, especially the day of the tour.

### "Great for my complex needs"

Overall, I'm very satisfied with the functionality of peek pro. Before, I had to manually create new bookings and import all viator bookings myself. Now, customers can make their own reservations without back and forth over the phone or email, and viator bookings are automatically blocked out when my calendar is full for each activity. I do like that bookings that I manually create do not have the booking fee and only the payment processor fee which is cheaper than Square who I was previously using. Peek Pro has been the only software that I've been able to find that can support my business' booking needs which offers tours and uber-like transportation services.

Pros

Customer service is great for solving issues and answering questions during the initial consultations and onboarding process. They really helped me find workarounds from my complex activity types. The embedded widgets look great and clean on the website, makes it so much easier for my customers to automatically book themselves a tour. I love that it connects with Viator so I don't have to manually block out my availability on multiple platforms. Payouts are also relatively fast which is important to keep my business running.

Cons

The software is a little dated looking and is confusing to figure out where certain settings are located. The calendar view is a little clunky. Scheduling activities in the calendar is slightly weird, I feel like you should be able to add scheduling information within the activity settings, but you have to create the actual availability in a separate area. Customer support was incredibly responsive during the first few onboarding weeks, but has been much slower after getting set up. Also, I wish there were options for annual billing rather than the 6% booking free on top of the payment processor fee for automatic reservations.

I have had a great experience with Peek Pro since day one. I do need to fine tune it more for my operation but it meets my needs for now. I have had calls from other software companys telling me how much better they were from Peek pro.... but I didn't want to listen or even entertain the posibility of changing and learning a new system...no way!

Keeping reservations in order for me... my fleet has grown and would not be able to operate without it!

Cons

My definitions of items in the menu differ from the softwares. so finding my way to the correct windows to change default information is usually confusing. But blame myself for this as well for not being able to take the time to really learn......

Online reservations are critical to tour operators and PEEK provides a convenient hub for managing these online reservations, as well as integrating some other third party products (such as Groupon) to integrate into their booking system. Case in point: we are now able to have guests use their groupon vouchers to book through PEEK whereas before all of these had to be called in to our office personnel. This reduces the workload on the office and allows them to spend more time helping customers book who are unable/unfamiliar with online booking, as well as be more social and inviting to guests at check in since there are less calls and thus less immediate need to answer them. Additionally this form of booking reduces errors such as misheard voucher codes or dates. It is also very helpful in the management of availability for tours and controlling overall booking capacity and availability on the fly.

Pros

Ease of use is definitely the top feature. Our previous system was much less intuitive and required more work to do things like move reservations, charge guests (or refund them) or even just generally managing the available tours on a given day. Plus the layout is easy to understand and features visual distinctions (such as color) for different individual tours that help make them easily distinguishable and reduce confusion.

Cons

We have been told several times that guests did not receive confirmation emails. We are not sure why this occurs, and it does not occur consistently so we cannot reliably figure out WHY. We have the system set to automatically send emails so this can be somewhat annoying, but in these cases we can easily send new confirmations or just simply verbally confirm. Additionally, guests often report they have trouble downloading the peek app, but since by the time they arrive we already have their reservation this is not a critical problem. In any case, reservations seem to always be efficiently sent to OUR inbox so that even if a guest has not received theirs, we can easily find them.

Reason for choosing Peek Pro

I know that in the end, the owner chose this due to the combination of more reasonable costs and more intuitive user interface, plus the much more helpful nature of the support staff and their attentiveness.

Switching over to this feature-rich software platform was one of the best decisions that I could have made for upping the game with my charter operation. From tracking sales to creating trip manifests and being confident that all passengers are paid in full is a great feeling.

Pros

Peek Pro is very intuitive and has the added bonus of being easy to train your staff to use.

Cons

I do feel there could be a more efficient manner in which to handle situations wherein an event has to be cancelled due to poor weather or other uncontrollable circumstances. As currently configured, it is somewhat clumsy and there are problems keeping track of outstanding re-booking credits for those customers that were booked onto a trip that had to be cancelled.

User-interface is superior to other produsts that were considered.

### "False Promises at Sales and ZERO Customer Service"

Terrible, see the cons I already described. DO NOT USE PEEK, YOUR BUSINESS WILL SUFFER AND YOUR TIME WILL BE WASTED! We have grown out of WIX bookings but seriously look at that for a very feature rich low cost solution!

Pros

The interface, feature list and functionality for the customer seems to be great.

Cons

Setup help is limited, support and setup knowledge of their own product almost doesn't exist. They claim to have 7 day per week support over 4 time zones which is a complete lie. You can not contact people on support chat, phone or any other way than ticketing which takes 48 hours to resolve at a minimum. If you run into a business stopping issue, you will be completely screwed and it is obvious no one there cares or has a plan to fix this! You will be sold features that do not work or can not be implemented without complex work arounds if at all. I question if they are even still in business with how challenging it is to get in contact with them which was not the case when we first signed up.
