Zoho Expense has been a game-changer for streamlining our expense management. Pros

I absolutely love Zoho Expense! It has transformed the way I manage my expenses. The receipt capture feature is incredibly accurate and efficient; I can just take a picture of my receipts, and it automatically extracts all the necessary details, saving me so much time. Creating monthly expense reports has never been easier. The user interface is intuitive, and I appreciate how organized everything is. Over all, its been a success using this product - and the value is hard to beat! Receipt/invoice file managment could use some minor improvements - like built file handling/naming rules.

Pros

I have been using Zoho products for over a decade. Over the course of my consulting career, I have evaluated thousands of software solutions for various businesses - small to corporate enterprise level. Zoho is always at the top when it comes to value-to-feature ratio. Expense is no different. The AI receipt & invoice recogonition is impressively accurate - and was the deciding factor for use in my own company!

Cons

If its your first time with zoho products, expect a learning curve (like other platforms). More canned control over the receipt/invoice file management would be helpful! Not a big fan of Deluge, their customization platform.

It is great to be able to keep track of all of my supplies and other expenses. I love being able to see the receipts and categorized them where needed.

Pros

I love being able to do all of book keeping for my crafting business. I am able to track everything I need to manage all my expenses.

Cons

The only thing that is inconvenient is having so submit requests. I don't have employees, I am a sole-proprietor, I am the one submitting the receipts, and the only one doing the book keeping. It's just an extra step I am having to go through.

Would happily recommend to other small businesses. I cannot speak for larger companies, but for us, it has made expense reporting faster, more accurate, and much less painful.

Pros

Super easy to use and customize. Abundance of how-to videos for quick tutorials or to solve an issue when you don't want to use tech support. love the reports that are generated. We provide detailed expenses with receipts to our clients and the report is clear, concise, and shows all receipts along with currency conversion when needed

Cons

the app is not quite as easy to use. At least not when traveling internationally and internet speeds are volatile and spotty.

So far, my organization really enjoys Zoho Expense. The app and the website are user-friendly and consistent. We use many of the integrations, the Autoscan receipt feature, the real-time corporate credit card feed. This has been a great help to our accounting department and our management team. We've cut down on time spent arguing or tracking down purchases, and we can now more closely analyze where our spending is better served, and which customers our spend pays off with.

Pros

My organization loves the receipt AutoCapture and the levels of approval that we can set up for our employees. The real-time corporate card feed provides significantly more visibility, and our accounting department commented positively about card purchase receipt matching capabilities. Assigning users to different departments is easy, as is planning travel and creating travel-specific expense reports.

Cons

Setting it up was overwhelming and required more time than expected to reach a point we were happy with. We found the number of customizations and automation difficult to navigate without a specific guide, especially after only a 30-minute demo call. The app is user-friendly, however, and we created a process that everyone is happy with.

Zoho Expense is a solid expense management tool with strong reporting I look forward to being fully set up so I can integrate with the other apps particularly Zoho Books. It seems to work well for day-to-day expense tracking and approvals, but it is less flexible for organizations with complex, multi-currency, or donor-funded structures like ours. With clearer documentation and more configurable options, it could be significantly stronger for nonprofit and international teams.

Pros

Their customer support team is responsive, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. Support tickets are handled quickly, and follow-ups are consistent until issues are resolved. This has been especially valuable during initial setup and configuration. I am grateful for the customer support team's responsiveness. They are very knowledgeable. I want to shout out to Iftesham who has been so amazing through out.

Cons

Some core configurations are rigid, particularly around base currency, advances, and how expenses are categorized across projects or departments. The learning curve for admins is steeper than expected. So I'm glad they have 2 free hours of onboarding.

We are seeking a reasonably priced expense program to end the reign of the terrible spreadsheets that get emailed around for approval. Zoho expense seems to meet our needs well and has been easy to set up. We have been using it for only a couple of days so the jury is still out, but so far, we see great potential.

Pros

Complex enough to meet our needs but easy enough to set up fast. It was really easy to add credit cards and the dashboards are helpful.

Cons

We are still looking for a con, I suppose it was annoying that the account types weren't quite as customizable as I would have liked, but that was minor and we found a work around

Pros

Love how smooth and easy it communicates with QuickBooks Online. The app is great and easy. Our employees love it.

Cons

One thing that's a more inconvenience than a con, is being able to select multiple reports to export to QuickBooks online at a time. At this point we have to click into one report at a time to export to QuickBooks. I would also love to see a timekeeping option that also works with QuickBooks online and QuickBooks Payroll so we have a 1 stop shop.

better than expensify! I'm officially switching. I find it far easier to work with and the price is better, the perfect combo.

Pros

easy! The scans work great, as do emails. I can set up reports and categorize with no issue. And I love the price!

Cons

I don't like how corporate cards can't be set for reimbursement. And deleting cards proved difficult. There's a bit of a learning curve.

I now have several ZOHO products and they have all been good to set up and use. The phone support is very handy, however I have found that there are plenty of training videos on youtube which are easy to follow.

Pros

I've not set up a system to use for business and this has been a goodf experience. Ease of set up and use, BIG tick. Logical process for adding expenses which is very easy with the auto-scan function, just take a photo and let it scan then assign where you want it. Generating reports for the monthly expenses is straight forward. If you get stuck on anything there are great videos on youtube which makes the learning easy. The manual is laid out in an easy to use format. The videos and manual make it quick to learn how to set up the automation function for reporting which will save me time.

Cons

So far nothing to dislike. I've found the support very good and the platform logical to use. Maybe some onscreen prompts to help with linking expenses to invoicing would be handy.

It is nice to have a central spot for credit card holders to keep on track with their expenses and for us in accounting to not have to chase people down to get receipts.

Pros

It is easy to connect your corporate card and easy to set up. I like that we can add various expense categories to make it easier for users to code their transactions.

Cons

It is minor, but I wish I could connect user cards for them when I invited. Other than that all is good!

I've used Zoho expense as a business owner and again as a solopreneur. It saves time, captures everything automatically (as long as you have it set up to do so) and makes expense reporting a minutes-long task instead of an hours-long task.

Pros

As a user, automated expense capture, ease of moving through expenses to categorize, and seamless reporting make my life easier.

Cons

Not all features are available to smaller accounts such as the option to direct deposit expense reports. Not a huge deal but with adds a couple of steps for me and my bookkeeper.

Overall, I cannot complain. It allows me to do my job and give my clients what they expect from me without any issues.

Pros

Zoho provides everything I need for a small fraction of other software. Also, the features and abilities that it has. The reports I can run without having any issues.

Cons

The only thing I do not like is that you cannot bundle services or companies. Wish there was packages at a cheaper price for users who use multiple sections and for multiple companies.

Pros

Zoho Expense is nicely integrated into Zoho book. I love that it is also tied to our credit cards and reminds me to scan the receipts immediately when the card is charged. The expense reports really go together nicely.

Cons

Still having a little bit of trouble with the Credit Card integration updating timely between the initial authorization and the final charge.

Pros

Field can submit expenses easily using Zoho Expense, and the approval chain is flexible. Auto-scan for receipts saves time.

Cons

The interface may seem a bit outdated, and syncing with other Zoho apps can be slow. Without that issue, i feel using it very much helpful.

For our purposes, Zoho Expense works best. I've tried other apps and had too many problems with them - Zoho just works!

Pros

Streamlines expense approvals which frees up valuable time for us. Great interface, fair price, checks nearly every box we were looking for.

Cons

There's one feature that would be huge that's hard to find in an expensing apps: The ability to automatically match when there are multiple charges for one receipt, or multiple receipts for one charge. This functionality would be huge for us!

Expensify did not handle the issue of matching multiple transactions to one receipt, or multiple receipts to one transaction (something we find happens with Amazon and Costco orders). Sage looked promising, but there was no trial available, and recent reviews indicate that the platform has become buggy and frustrating to use.
