The staff are all really helpful, the system is reliable and it’s really easy to use.

Pros

ease of use, online booking features and accessibility.

Cons

Most of the time the response on email for urgent issues is quick but it is annoying not having a support line to ring.

I use the free version which means little contact with the fresha team. Just the odd email here and there offering assistance if needed. I like it this way

Pros

That it has a free version with enough of the capability

Cons

The new updates that then cost. The thing that would make fresha perform better would be a place where you can store client service chemical history. It would be so helpfull to have this information be able to be noted on the clients file. To print this off or to have a stylist app that could be used for consultations that updates the clients file would be next level!!

Dissapointing. Unfair and unsolicited charges. Missleading and deceptive conduct. Not to be trusted. Have contacted my clients in Australia asking for tips, random charges processed that did not exist, promised free forever accounts for initial features such as calander bookings and unlimited reminder texts, to foundational early members 8 to 10 years ago that they are not honouring.

Pros

Easy to use format for basic use, but no longer available so now nothing to like, and currently moving over to square appointments much fairer plans etc

Cons

The companies deceptive and missleading business practices, and agressively rude communication style. no longer includes any basic plan available for sole traders just wanting basic features.

It is an easy to use system once you get your head around it, has many free features that allow for the smooth running of our salon. Easy product orders and input of stock, good client information features. Would definitely recommend.

Pros

The free version is easy to use and not too limiting. Almost as good as a paid system

Hard to navigate to notes etc. lots of clicks to get to where you need to go.

Pros

In the beginning it was great. The reminders were great.

Cons

However, they have added fee after fee for their "lifetime" free clients. We are the ones that have helped sort out the kinks. They take 20% for new clients. Do NOT have your clients book online. You HAVE to book them manually at first or you will lose any profit or break even per appointment. Also any text you send as reminders are now billed. Its become very expensive.

These experiences highlights a serious flaw in Fresha’s client recognition system and a troubling lack of accountability. Their policies seem designed to protect their revenue—not their users. If you value fairness, transparency, and responsive support, I’d strongly recommend exploring other platforms.

Pros

I’ve used Fresha for my business for over a year. The platform itself is visually appealing and clients enjoy the booking experience.

Cons

My experiences with their billing policies and customer service has been extremely disappointing. I am charged a “New Client Marketplace Fee” for a returning client who had previously booked with me and even contacted me directly to rebook. I follow Fresha’s own advice by sending my direct booking link, yet the system still flags client as new marketplace clients. Despite clear evidence, support refuses to refund the fees, citing rigid policy and technicalities. The worst thing is the tone and attitude of the support team. Responses are curt, dismissive, and show no empathy or willingness to understand the issues. It felt like speaking to a bot programmed to say “no” rather than a team interested in helping resolve genuine concerns.

While the fee is supposed to apply to first-time clients who find my services via the Fresha website, I'm being charged for customers who scan my in-store QR code to book. I've repeatedly inquired, as these are my existing clients or ones I've attracted independently, yet Fresha treats them as new clients sourced by them. Essentially, I feel I'm helping Fresha acquire new users rather than benefiting from their platform as intended.

Pros

They try to cooperate with their clients, and remain positive. Their application is easy to navigate.

Cons

I feel their policy regarding 'new client fees' is unfair. Fresha outline that a charge will be incurred for first time clients, who found my services via their website. I have inquried about this to Fresha several times, as I use their QR code at my store to allow my clients to book an appointment, however, I still get charged for those customers, as if they intially found my services through Fresha, though this is not the case. It seems I am aiding Fresha with gaining new customers, rather than myself receiving this benefit.

Love love love fresha! I'm not paying an arm and a leg and the people that work at fresha genuinely care about you and want to make your business grow. These are Canadian locals that want to help Canadian businesses. I recommend fresha to everyone who needs a booking software... They are just that great I want to support them like they support small businesses!

Pros

I'm somebody who has difficulty just using Google sometimes. Fresha is so easy to set up and use, everything is straightforward and uncomplicated. They're booking software is free to use and when you get their POS machine, and you will want to, you don't pay a monthly fee, just a tiny percent (like 2.6% or something close to it) on purchases made only with the POS machine.

Cons

There's nothing that I dislike but one suggestion I would make would be with the cancellation policy, I wish there was a way that you could make it so that you could pick and cost different parts of each tier of the cancellation policy.. something light like if they rebook or cancel 24 hours before their appointment there is no penalty but a no-show gets charged 50% of what their bill was going to be.

Reason for choosing Fresha

I was just starting up my spa, didn't have a lot of money to spend on Spa booking software after everything I had paid out for all of my products and furniture, when I discovered how cheap it would be to have their POS machine, I had to contact them because their pricing seems too good to be true. They were just a company that were wanting to help smaller businesses and after trying them for over 6 months I couldn't possibly imagine some other Spa software, better than fresha just doesn't exist.

I took a chance to see if fresha could be the solution I needed. Overall I am greatly disappointed both by the features and the customer support received.

Pros

I did not get to use this product for long before realising it would not be suitable for my business needs

Cons

Unfortunately it did not meet my business needs. Deleting your workspace takes 7 days and yet they do not allow for refunds if it is within this window. It seems they need to review their policies to allow for immediate deletions and no refunds or allow a window for both. They have left gaps purposely for the customer to be charged regardless of whether it works for the business which in my mind is highly unethical.

Overall, my experience has been okay. I had used better scheduling apps but it is a very seamless experience for my clients, just not one on my end. That being said, it still does the basic functions and has all the features needed to run an appointment-based business. Once you get the hang of it, it becomes easier to use.

Pros

I like the price and rates of this software. It is much cheaper than other softwares and it is a great option for beginner beauticians as well as smaller salon teams.

Cons

I least liked the calendar and initial set up of the app. It is very time consuming because it is not seamless when you first set it up. What I did not like about the calendar was it is hard to set up hours on specific days or adjust your schedule.

I love using Fresha and I always recommend them to other salon owners looking for a great online booking experience.

Pros

Fresha is super easy to use. Has all the features that I am looking for. They are always introducing new features. The customer service team are quick to respond and the emails feel very personalised and not automated. It actually feels like you are having a conversation with a person and not a robot. The Reps are awesome and located here in Australia.

Cons

There’s nothing I don’t like. Th reason I say this is because they are continually introducing new features. Sure there are a few things that I require that aren’t available. But maybe soon they will be implemented. If not there are ways to work around it.

Overall poor. Support don't seem to acknowledge or understand issues that are raised and offer 'solutions' that either ignore information they have already been given or are just not relevant to the issue. I have been fobbed off on many occasions and nothing improves. I have £6k worth of vouchers sold through Fresha in the last 6 months so moving to a different system would be a nightmare but staying is a nightmare too.

Pros

Fresha is affordable compared to many other similar systems.

Cons

The voucher system is NOT fit for purpose. A client with a voucher cant put in a code and use it to checkout like you can with EVERY other voucher system. We have had to duplicate every single massage we offer (including for each time variation) and have "voucher only" booking so they put the code in as a note and we manually check the voucher off the system. We sell vouchers for specific massage types and durations. If someone has a voucher for a 1 hour Swedish massage that costs £40 and we increase the massage cost to £45 the voucher is no longer valid AT ALL. Fresha sees the service as being "deleted" rather than the client needs to pay £5 more. The calendar sync is one way while other systems have 2 way sync which would make it MUCH easier for therapists to manage their availability. They have just started charging for appointment confirmations. They look at the average number of clients you had in previous months and You are allocated 1 reminder message per client. The thing is though that to run the business properly each client might get 3 messages (or more if they reschedule) so you will almost certainly be paying for extra messages. When clients do reschedule their appointment does not show up through calendar sync. There is no option to embed the booking system on your website and the ability to change the look or feel of your booking page on Fresha
