Pros What I like the most about this software is the bcc email address associated with each project. I can bcc the filevine project and it will appear in the activity for that project. Cons I think I need more involvement in what roles actually do for our firm. It might as well not exist. I am convinced that it is better to stay with an older case management system and embrace its flaws than it is to switch to Filevine. Look also at how many users have to hire independent implementation consultants to make anything happen. The implementation timeline and costs are therefore very dishonest. If there were a class action suit against them I would happily join it. Pros It seemed like a highly customized and intuitive interface. I wanted to be able to ditch a server and have an integrated practice management system, and one I could use through the web. Cons After a very detailed questionnaire about your practice, the delays piled up one after the other. Mid-April becomes mid-May and then July or August. It feels like outright fraud. Look at the reviews or the Filevine users Facebook page. Only people who start a new firm with no files have a good experience at implementation. If you decide to get this, you should insist on NOT paying until you are up and running. They will lie to you about the timeframe and about what can be customized. They will. The customer support is exceptional. They are proactive and knowledgeable and pleasant. The resources are endless and on point and readily available and they understand how to communicate and train busy lawyers and staff. Basically Filevine is the New England Patriots in their prime and TrialWorks is the Cleveland Browns at their worse. Pros Its is extremely well organized with advanced capabilities that exceed TrialWorks by a great margin. The customer support is night and day. TrialWork was a cluster fudge. Filevine is like the extremely well run and proactive and knowledgeable and pleasant. Basically Filevine is the New England Patriots in their prime and TrialWorks is the Cleveland Browns at their worse. Cons Nothing so far. The customer service is excellent - and nothing we have encountered so far is anything less. Reason for choosing Filevine Filevine is is extremely well organized with advanced capabilities that exceed TrialWorks by a great margin. The customer support is night and day. That being said, the files are only as good as the information put in them, so documentation is key. Pros Having come from an old, antiquated case management system, I love the diary aspect the most. I can make notes/tasks and easily refer back to them. My favorite feature is the text and e-mail option -- I literally had to cut and paste e-mail and paste to a Word document so they were accessible to all. I love being able to sort my tasks by complete or incomplete and also sort via hashtags. Cons I wasn't involved in the integration. If I'm making an entry and want to check information elsewhere on FV, I have to open a new tab or save that info and return and edit it. While this isn't hard to do, it's a little cumbersome. When working with liens, I'd like more options such as payors and corresponding amounts. It is not something that will work at all with it so we stopped that part of the build. For our PI side of things, it would be amazing if it worked consistently and we didn't need support (who doesn't get back to you in a timely fashion, now on day 4 waiting for them to get back to me on an issue) Pros When things are working properly, it is seamless and work gets done. Cons We are constantly losing sync with our add on's. We can't get support to return emails, help us on chat and we have no way to call them. Would highly recommend. Pros Purchased product in December 2018. Once it was determined how best to utilize Filevine has become indispensable. User friendly. Checks all the boxes for what we had hoped it would accomplish for our firm. Cons The only negative to speak of was the rollout itself. Not alot of guidance back when we purchased the product. Pros I like the way this softwares allows you to pull reports to your liking and allows you to cutimize the reports. I am a big fan of the mobile app. Simply things like being able to text from the software is a huge help and lastly the interface is amazing. Cons I would like it to be easier to edit documents right from FV , but maybe there is a way and I am not sure of it. Pros The integration - being able to fax, save as a PDF, preview and rename documents, & send secure documents (such as contracts via Vinesign) directly from the case is amazing and saves me more time than I could have ever imagined. Not to even mention texting directly from the case and a secure email address that delivers right to the case, and settin gup the TASK list... Filevine has become part of my daily life - I come from a Needles CMS platform and Filevine was so easy to learn! OCR features are still limited, not functional on all PDF documents. Would be nice to have a tab for client correspondence so that it's not just a search of the feed to find prior conversations. Whether it is growing pains, or it is just making promises it cannot deliver, I do not appreciate being sold a product that does not work as promised. Had I known that Filevine was never going to be able to sync with Dropbox, I would not have bought it. Pros The system of tracking deadlines and calendaring events may be useful for folks who are disorganized without it. Cons Filevine was sold to me as a product that would "sync" with Dropbox, but it does not, in fact "sync" in real-time with Dropbox. Because my filing system uses Dropbox and I was unwilling to stop using Dropbox, I insisted that any management software be compatible with Dropbox. I was promised that Filevine would sync with my Dropbox files, but it does not. Reason for choosing Filevine Filevine representatives promised that it would work effortlessly and sync with Dropbox. April 27, 2021 5.0 I especially like that it's web based and accessible anywhere. Seeing what everyone has done on the project/file is beneficial and the search options are great. Pros It's easily customizable. If we need something updated or added due to a change in precedent or process, our team is able to update easily. Everything I need, especially precedents, are saved and accessible in the system. Cons The feed. I don't need to see email's I've sent or received in my feed. I also don't need to see faxes that were "successful", only need to see faxes that did not go through, failed, busy, or no-answer, so I can re-try or send another way. Review Source TA Travis A. Pros It keeps all of my files organized and is easy to navigate. Cons There was a recent update which the photos that come in. We used to be able to drag the photos from the page they were opened on. Everybody in the office can access any document. Pros It is relatively easy to use, and would be easier if we actually used the whole set of features of the software. I like that all documents are shared and more broadly that we can share space with co-counsel or create a link to respond to discovery or experts.
