Pros I like that most things can be done through Filevine and I don’t need to use multiple softwares for cases or save documents in many different places. Cons I don’t love the tasking or notifications in Filevine. I think they are too hard to notice and are easily missed. Ultimately, this is a product that will maximize your returns so long as you fully exploit its functionality. Pros Ease of use, along with supported training videos and readily available customer support are some of best features of this product Cons If there is a way to streamline doc/mass doc generation with regard to entry of information in various fields. The editing tools such as page extraction and being able to combine documents now is also really helpful. The fax integration feature is fantastic. It is a great way to organize and work your file and keeps all team members updated on the file status and tasks completed and done. Cons Right now, I can't highlight PDF documents. I deal with large documents and must extract and highlight pertinent information. Support has told me to adobe to highlight which creates an extra step for me just to highlight a document I am already in. Also, keeping documents and sending documents in a chronological order is impossible. We need to be able to create tab numbers in a brief format which will stay when shared with others (i.e. physicians and defence counsel when serving our affidavit of documents). Cons In the legal field, we call things "matters" or "cases". The "project" terminology has been difficult to acclimate to. Pros There is the capability to have more than one tab open at a time without messing anything up on the original tab. Each tab has several drop down menus for labeling. Once trained on the system it is user friendly. I like that we can access anywhere that you have internet, especially with the Pandemic last year when everyone was shut down, our Firm was still able to work from home. Cons There should be a way to not change across the FileVine Board. It should be up to each organization as to what they want on their program. I don't like the new calendar at all. In our firm, things change quickly and it is amazing to be able to change the program on our own without having to wait for customer support to get to us. I contacted the company and it was a hassle even to get some information. They wanted me to do 3 appointments just for me to know about the software. I yet don't know any attorney that has the time to spend. They waste your time. Customer service is bad. Imagine, you are not even their customer and you are having issues with it. I have to enter information in multiple times in multiple tabs and it can be tedious. For example on our Intake take we enter the police agency that responded to a MVA and then on the investigation tab I have to enter it again. I wish that info would carry over within the same project. Also, I wish there was a way /place to enter contacts for all projects to pull from - for example a hospital name/contact info I wish I could start typing the hospital name an FV would pull the hospital contact information from one central place instead of me having to re-enter all of the contact information for every new project where that information applies. Pros The software is very customizable and if it doesn't do what you need or want, the FV support team is all ears. In fact, I have reached out to support regarding our particular firm needs several times and every time they have created a feature to fulfill that need. FV is always evolving, improving and adding new features. Cons FV is not without flaws, of course, but FV support team is Fierce and ALWAYS been on our team when we have had issues and has always provided or created resolutions. Pros The ease of use is by far the nicest aspect of the software. I also like how frequently the product is improved and new features are added. Cons As a law firm, the billing, timekeeping, and invoicing could use more flexibility like the rest of the software; i.e. being able to export as an excel spreadsheet or word document; allow for more malleability with tracking dollars and hours and utilizing those factors in reporting; being able to view by hours or by dollars. I love that it's easy to use! The best part is being able to make reports on your data. Pros Filevine is so simple to use and we appreciate the ability to create projects for anything the firm needs. I particularly like the report builder. Cons Sometimes there are glitches but for the most part it is a quality dependable product. Support is always ready and able to resolve any issue we may encounter.
