Pros

I have worked with 3 total EDL-type systems in the past 6 years. One of the biggest problems with the others was the on-hold time waiting to speak with a customer services rep., it was not uncommon to be on hold for 30 to 45 minutes anytime I would call them. When need to call into Keep Truck there is virtually no hold time at all… I feel that is very significant because if the driver is having issues and it’s something that I can not help them with and they must call into Keep Trucking they can get the help they need without being on hold for an extended time, which most drivers won’t do…

Cons

There really isn't much about the software that I don't like and there are always improving it.

### "All in one transportation compliance solution"

Happy to help solve issues and very sound software and hardware overall.

Pros

The simple design and functions allow anyone to quickly pick up the use of the software. The notifications help keep you on track as to inputs you may have missed. Day and night display mode allows for easy viewing in the day time or over night. These were all great features I was happy were there.

Cons

Some communication issues occurred between the software and the vehicle computer system occasionally causing it not to link and record. Calling customer support solved these problems after some time but caused some delays in work.

### "Equipment You Can Not Do Without In the Trucking Business"

Customer Service is excellent as they always have a solution for your problem and work through it with you. If they don't know the answer, they find one for you.

Pros

The features from this software that has saved us from legal heartache with the DOT as well as IFTA are irreplaceable. We were ticketed once from the DOT on our logs, and the officer was incorrect. I was able to pull those logs, print them, send them to the court and charges were dismissed. Also, utilizing the IFTA section to log fuel receipts and to do quarterly filings is a huge help! We love as well that this software will tell you fault codes on the engine if there is a mechanical problem. Another favorite part of this software is seeing "real time" where the rig is located at, which helps in planning as well as if there is a problem with the truck or an accident, we know exactly where the truck is located.

Cons

I honestly cannot think of anything I do not like about this software. Perhaps the only thing that could make it better would be an APP for administration, when we are mobile. But really, not necessary.

### "Essential equipment for new authority"

My overall experience is that the software is amazing and probably addresses most if not all challenges that trucking companies encounter. However, from the very beginning the customer service, support, sales departments are extremely weak and fragmented. More time and possibly money needs to be poured into the humans in this company. Everyone I spoke to was very kind and patient but the system is flawed. They is no follow up for training only offers for additional products to purchase. A phone call would be nice to see if I have any concerns or even a 1 hr training session. It has been difficult.

Pros

The best part of this software is knowing that all of our logs are being recorded and stored for auditing purposes. As a newer authority, I am able to focus on other business details and not worry about logs.

Cons

I do not have any "dislikes" about the software. The lack of support has been an issue for me. I am positive that we are not using this software to its full potential because I received no training and have not seen an opportunity for training either. I have really had to figure things out on my own and may have made mistakes unknowingly. This is an everyday struggle for our company.

### "A Bookkeepers Dream"

There really isn't much I can say that is negative. I think the variety of reports that you can print is a bookkeepers dream. I was so happy when we started using KeepTruckin and I am confident that it will only get better as we start to integrate more of its features into our business practices.

Pros

I used to spend hours going through the drivers logs trying to figure out where they went and how many miles they did on each trip, now I can find out anything I want at the click of a button. I think this software is incredible and we are not even using it to its full capacity yet! I would highly recommend this software to any trucking company.

Cons

I would have to say the thing that bothers me most would be that it doesn't enforce you to enter all the data, for instance, when I look to see where the drivers are, we will have a truck that says unidentified driver. It should come up with error messages or something to make sure that it is updated by staff all the time.

### "The truth "

Its ok. I get fed up when I call customer service and I get someone who does not really speak english. They don't know the rules and regs of FMCSA and DOT. They never understand that we have guidelines. They think just adding a note makes things better. That is not an answer. Customer service never has the correct answer. They basically say OH WELL! It makes me so mad that they don't know that answer or how to fix a problem that is caused by the software.

Pros

Its easy to figure out. I had to learn how to use it alone. Because our CSM changed hands so many times.

Cons

It can be hard to fix something that is a problem cause by the software. Example when it gets stuck in drive mode. And customer service does not understand the rules and regs of DOT and FMCSA. Their answer is to always make a note. But when it puts a driver into violation and it the software fault and all you can say is make a note. A DOT officer is going to see the violation and write us a ticket cause a problem caused by the software.

### "Beware!"

Pros

Nothing. The equipment never worked properly and wasn't even helpful with IFTA, which is the only reason we were trying to use it.

Cons

My devices never worked properly. Our company wasn't using the ELD because we operate within the 100-mile radius exemption. I continued to try to use it just for IFTA. As stated earlier, it never worked properly, so I decided to cancel the subscription. It has literally been like "HOTEL CALIFORNIA." It is impossible to cancel during the "contract period" which renews automatically each year. Let me emphasize that, you only have a window from the day of the last payment of your contract until the 1st payment of your next to cancel. I contacted them 8 times including on the phone and through email. Each time, I was assured it would be canceled. Then, would get emails stating my case number was expiring unless I contacted them. When I contacted them telling them I had already been assured it would be canceled, was told that I had to wait until my last payment of the subscription had been taken out will I be able to cancel. This is a predatory company that is hoping busy trucking companies will let the date slip by without canceling in "the window." If they charge my CC one time after the subscription, I am contacting the Attorney General. This is a ridiculous practice.

I’ve been using this application when I was employed by an owner operator and now I’m my own boss with my own truck,it makes complete sense to use this app that I’m more comfortable using and is less complicated.

Pros

The overall features on the app are very straight forward and is very easy to use. I have no issues to date with using the app.

Cons

My only issue with this app is,when I’m at my pickup/delivery, I can move around without I’m placed in driving mode which impacts on my driving time.

### "My outtake on KT"

I think we have a good experience with keep truckin, there are a few issues however i think with all technology there would be. It is easy to use, easy to teach someone to use and very user friendly with alot of options that can be used by anyone.

Pros

I like having 24/7 support, i like that support is reached by phone or email. I like the tracking, the ease of use on the app for drivers. I like how there is a lot of features and always someone willing to help.

Cons

I dislike constant updates, most of our drivers are not great with technology and asking them to update the app weekly is very hard. I do not like the disconnects and "driving in progress events" that can take days to sort.

I have generally been pleased with Motive, both from the product and the support end of things.

Pros

I appreciate the ability for tracking and logging purposes. I also use it for immediate billing upon delivery of loads, since the P.O.D. paper works is avaiable upon the driver uploading his paper work. It is useful for maintenance and fuel tracking purposes.

Cons

I would like to see a billing module that would intergrate with Quick Books, and I am still working on learning and implementing the dispatch module. I would like to be able to print to pdf a copy of the dispatch for customer approval.

### "Great Product!"

Pros

I love that connecting to the trucks is simple and quick. The information that is collected and provided helps you to see the impact that drivers, trucks, trailers and many other factors impact your business. The customer service (if you ever have to contact them) is great and they have been able to solve any issues I've had.

Cons

I was used to an ELD that was one-time larger purchase, but then no monthly fee. It was hard to get to used to paying monthly subscription, as we are a smaller company looking to save everywhere we can. But, after multiple DOT stops, and non-conformance through a sub-par ELD, I decided to give Keep Truckin a try. I don't guess this is necessarily a Con, just something I was wasn't excited about (monthly subscription).

I chose KeepTruckin based on it's reputation and other peoples views about the product. I've been satisfied and love to see the improvements made.

BlueInk Technologies plainly told me they could not offer me conformance after a year or so of me constantly reporting issues, bugs, etc. There would be days of communication back and forth trying to figure out the issue. After all was said and done, they bought back their devices. Not sure if they pulled the item off the market, but it was trash for what we needed it for and what they said would work.

Pros

I like the IFTA function best as well as the ease of tracking in the Fleet View. Additionally, I am very satisfied with the customer service. Every time I have had to call in for support the customer service reps were knowledgeable and friendly.

Cons

The search option when looking up specific fuel date range and logs range. If I am working in 1st Quarter IFTA fuel, the default should go back to that date range every time in my current session. Currently, it defaults back to the current date every time in the same session.

The “touchy” tracking nature of the ELD when the truck is moving slowly though will put the driver in driving duty status when in Off Duty or Sleeper status.

### "Small Charter Motorcoach Operator Review"

I like the software, I WOULD recommend it to an operator. I do know that some operators still use cheaper systems, or something too big for a small operator to use. This is one of KT's best features, size doesn't seem to matter, and it's not too expensive for a small operator., who has to operate with the same requirements or regulations as the larger operator.

Pros

Ease of use. Had no trouble installing and using the logbook feature. State and Federal DOT inspectors have no issues (yet) dealing with this logbook. It saves fuel receipts (important). I can, after some learning, draw the reports I need. KT called me about a connection issue I was unaware of, which was easily repaired. KT keeps up with any FMCSA logbook requirement changes.

Cons

Drawing reports can be complicated and clunky. In particular selecting date values is irritating. Search (anything) is missing. Reports difficult to combine for a full-service report (such as an IFTA audit). The dashcam feature is annoying, it doesn't always work, and right now is out of service.

Reason for choosing Motive

Seemed to fit the Charter Motorcoach business the best. Saucon was more geared to the multi-coach market and was prohibitively expensive. Garmin ELog was slow to correct problems and operated with some difficulty.

It has not been a very good one. Customer service is not a priority. Solving an issue is not a priority. Response to a customer issue is not a priority.

Pros

GPS feature so that we can track our drivers

Cons

The lack of customer service. Their only goal is to sell you something. Once they do, they ghost you if you have questions. There is no one to help guide you through using the system. Your only option is to look at the videos. Who has time for that?

We had KeepTruckin prior, which was bought out. We are going to start looking at other products soon.

We have been using Keep Truckin since before the 2017 mandate and have 100 units out in the field. I can"t think of another ELD that I would choose over Keep Truckin.

Pros

1) ease of installation / replacement, 2) the Support group, 3) durability, 4) reliability, 5) accuracy

Cons

1) cord location on ELD box (mounting issues)

User-friendly, looks like a log book (operator comfort level), easy to learn and navigate.

### "You will regret signing up with Motive formerly keeptruckin"

They will make you sign up for 36 months and you would want to cancel it the very first month, but you will not be able to do so. Do not listen to the sales agent, they are not going to mention the 3 years contract and all they want you to sign the contract. The drivers need lots of help when it comes to correcting times and schedules, but they will never help you.

Pros

I can promise you; you will not like it at all when it comes to their support.

Cons

Their customer service. They are not helpful at all.

Reason for choosing Motive

I was brand new in the market. The sales agent \[sensitive content hidden\] absolutely lie to me about the product and particularly about the length of the contract and the cancellation policy. I am out of the business, and I don't need the device anymore but they will be charging me for 3 years.

Great operational experience. Horrible behind the scenes, financial help.

Pros

Real time logging and ease of use. E-log is great - tarcking and fuel is also great.

Cons

Alllowing the truck driver to see error codes? So they can talk to the mechanics when needed.They also charged my compnay card without warning or without a statement? How can I not see our financial side - account information. I have asked customer support for help.. no replies. Awful service on that end. Completely lose contact with anyone after you make the purchase. Not acceptable.

My experience has been awesome. I have always has a positive experience with the customer service reps. They resolve all concerns and answer all questions. The company has live voices that are willing and competent in the products and software.

Pros

Easy to set up and use. No glitches. Accuracy. Convenience of using one software for compliance, monitoring and IFTA information to file reports.

Cons

I feel motive offers complete needs. Unless theur are some regulation changes in the future, the software covers my fleets needs.

Pros

I like the fact that you can manage what you need to do from your dashboard. With the help of support.

Cons

Can’t complain. So far I don’t have any problems with the software. And it gets updated for the best.
