I'm grateful that they are always available - 24 hours a day every day of the year. Customer Service is typically very kind and happy to assist. It does a lot of things all in one program instead of needing additional products to accomplish your day.

Pros

The overall program is great. The reports are great and real-time tracking is amazing

Cons

I don't like the fuel program (which is important to me). There should be an easier way to make corrections than one entry at a time - very time consuming and usually makes for a bad day! But after it's completed, I'm grateful I don't have to do it all on graph paper with a pencil anymore!

When ELDs first came out Verizon jumped right on board to provide the product and everyone was scrambling to find a carrier because most companies had procrastinated hoping that the bills would not pass making them necessary. Verizon made lots of promises with all the flash and glam -- but sadly I don't think they knew what they had just bit off. It was very frustrating to trucking companies as well as the drivers. One of my drivers came in and talked to me about KeepTruckin he said he used the ap on his phone and it was phenomenal, so I made the call and talked to sales. \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] had all of our equipment to us "overnight" and a team to help me learn how to install and operate the eld - and we've never looked back.

### "Base System is good - but hot spot limit stinks"

If it were not for this hot spot issue I would give the system 5 stars. The Customer Support agents do speak clear English, but they are not always able to help and follow through is not good. Still waiting for my hot spot issue to be solved and it has been "disabled". No internet access on the road is a huge hassle. There is a big discrepancy between what my device shows I have used as far as data, and the Motive accounting for my data use. Tablet shows a lower data usage than Motive, and Motive caps the use and then shuts off the data usage. The difference in usage is a whole gigabyte and that is a big difference.

Pros

Easy to use - Dashboard and document access is very handy. Knowing the fault codes are helpful in keeping the truck running better.

Cons

I was told that the hot spot would allow me to listen to Pandora and audio books as I had been. However, it is capped and not sufficient and no one from Customer Service has been able to help me and the Agent who was supposed to call me to fix my issue, has never called.

We were contacted by a representative who explained the system, and the hardware was free. I was promised better support, and in the long run it was going to be cheaper. The Y cable makes it so my mechanic can still plug things in to my truck for diagnostic purposes. I decided to drop a cell phone line from my plan that was no longer necessary because this system, with the hot spot, was going to replace that - resulting in long term savings. However, the hot spot does not have enough data, and attempts to resolve this have not been successful - so I am not pleased with that aspect of the system.

### "Love Motive"

We’ve had motive for several years now. The product and support are top notch.

Pros

Having the mileage available for reports, being able to track where the truck is at in bad cell phone areas and access to logs to save is invaluable to me.

Cons

Nothing. I have no complaints about this product.

Pros

Ease of installation, ease of use. I like the fact I can take my phone with me, into the restaurant, etc, and update my logs from there.

Cons

The pathetic adherence to draconian rules. The mechanics moved my truck, I was standing 15 ft away, phone in hand, logged out as off Duty. The app logged me into driving mode without my knowledge, and this event cannot be erased. This is completely unacceptable.

I personally love it . Finally being able to take pictures of multiple BOL and my fuel receipts to track the loads I’ve hauled , plus the multiple trailer add ons (I haul turnpikes ) has been extremely helpful .

Pros

What I really enjoy about the motive system is it pretty much does everything for you . Looking forward to it being transponder friendly . That’s always a big advantage . The tracking the mileage separate between the provinces is great l makes ifta so easy .

Cons

Awww. This is a bit of an upset with me . Not being able to manipulate it when you have long wait times makes it a little tricky if you have to drove 2 to 3 hours to your load destination, you have to really hope your wait time isn’t too long , otherwise you can’t really get your maximum kms in .

Because it literally works the best and they are literally making the effort to keep updating it . I’ve heard from other companies using different systems , and they’re just a joke . Going offline , only have one trailer add, etc,

### "Error with the Log book"

I enjoy the ease of the app, and the fleet management tool, but there are kinks that need to be fixed in order to keep me compliant with DOT/ MC

quick and easy to use they are not too bulky either.

### "You never stop paying……."

Great tech. Poor customer service.I will not use them again.

Great technology. Solid reporting. Rear and front facing cameras.

Cons

On July, 20, 2023, my truck my destroyed in a fire. I had a Motive system in that truck. A short time later, I contacted Motive and requested to cancel my service. Today some three months after my truck was destroyed,I get a call from an employee at Motive who told me that the only way that I could cancel my service, was to close my business and send them a letter from the FMCSA. I explained that I was not closing my business , I just wanted to cancel my service. I became frustrated and he got his lacey panties in a wad because I told hi that I thought it was bullshit to pay for a service that you don’t receive. The bottom line is that I have to pay this bunch $300+ a quarter until March of 2025. That is just nuts.

### "Good Product/Service"

Very good experience with KT. Excellent customer service, informative sales staff. Seem to have a great culture at KeepTruckin, and it shows in our dealing with them.

Pros

Software is easy to use, and so far has proved to be very reliable.

Cons

One feature I really dislike is not having the ability to change unit ID or unit names once they have been assigned, if even its assigned only once. Would like to see the ability to either change Unit IDs or add nicknames to the units. It would be a big help for us, that way if new office staff are learning, or new drivers are hired its much easier to identify units rather than a singular unit number.

Reason for choosing Motive

Past experience with KT, with our Dash camera/Gateway setup. Its all integrated in one platform. Slightly cheaper than some of competitors. KT worked really hard to make a deal possible, and made arrangements to cut down our cost to buy out of former system contracts.

### "Motive is the only ELD I would Ever use"

Overall it has been a positive experience in all ways.

Pros

I have worked with many ELD programs in the past. Many were very expensive. The customer service I receive from Motive goes well above expectations as the others I worked with had very poor customer service. And Motive has saved me over $5,000.00 per year! The cameras have great resolution and I absolutely love the feature of any time I get an alert, it comes with a complete video straight to my email to view this alert. I don't have to take time to order a video and wait for it to come! When I have an issue, I call customer service and they get right on the problem. After they call with a solution, I get two more follow up calls to make sure that I got my solution and I am happy with the outcome of service!

Cons

That I cannot get a sepparate report for Personal conveyance auditing.

### "Horrible customer support"

If this company wants to improve they must acknowledge issues with their equipment and software and horrible support they have. Their support is from Pakistan and almost every time when you call you lose connection. So when you call back you have to start all over explaining your issue.

Pros

I was really happy with product and support. But lately we started having issues and customer service takes too long to resolve issues. We even end up getting violations from DOT because of issues that take too long to resolve. Getting your rep reached its impossible I have been emailing and calling my rep for 14 days and no answer. Whenever their equipment fails they always blame on driver or anything else but their equipment. Their customer support from Pakistan has horrible connection and never calls you you back when you get disconnected.

Cons

Horrible customer support lately its impossible to reach your rep or receive support in time.

I really wish that the customer service was better and that instead of sending sales to solicit us for more equipment, they would make sure the equipment that they have already given is in decent working order. Sending back equipment once it is damaged is also an issue as it is not the easiest process either.

Pros

We utilize the tracking all day, and the ease of getting reporting and logs.

Cons

Some of the features are clunky and not streamlined. The customer service is not the greatest, better than some but it takes a long time to receive new equipment if in the event we need it and the support is not great.

Motive was recommended to us by another carrier.

### "If you have the option, choose another ELD system. "

i actually hate it compared to PeopleNet. and i hated peoplenet but now that i'm using KT, Peoplenet was laid out way better. It was much more intuitive for the driver.

Pros

Easy but drivers tend to make mistakes because the text is all over the place on the screen or just too small.

Cons

the logs that i'm referring to here in these comments are the drivers daily log. intuitively the site is backwards. when you click to the left the log moves right; click to the right the log move left. doesn't make sense at first. by the way, the text on the tablet is WAAAAAYYYY too small and not bold enough. Very difficult to navigate your way around on the screen. could be engineered way better. There's not much to convey on the screen. too much room on the screen is wasted on teeeeny tiny text. that needs to be fixed. the fact that you need to rely on bluetooth for the tablet to connect to the tablet is horrible!!!! should be plugged in or hardwired.

We have been attempting this downgrade for almost nine months now. They make it truly impossible to downgrade or cancel until we hit their auto renewal period again and are unable to downgrade for another year.

### "Onerous software"

It is repetitive.It glitches (stops working or communicating with the blue tooth adapter) about once a week requiring reset while driving!The commands are onerous. If I want to save a record, I OBVIOUSLY want to do so with the official signature!All of the clocks should be displayed on screen. 11, 14, 30 min, and the 70! These are all important clocks for the driver to see while in motion!Finally, there needs to be a count down clock for the end of the 10hr break when off duty that switches to 34 hr reset after the clock has met the bench mark.

Pros

Secondary log function.HOS recap list.I really don't have a lot of good things to say.This product is not a quality product I would buy or recommend to a struggling entrepreneur.

If you want to PC drive, you must sign the prior day log before you can do so. Signing a log is an official duty and is required to be done "ONDUTY". That is a violation! If you are logging an inspection or signing your daily log, if you go to the save button before signing it fills in the signing and makes you accept it as an additional step before it saves. Just save it already with the signature! Its clear thats required, just do it!When you change duty status, you select the status you want AND then you need to save it. Just save it upon selection! Enough of the repetitive button selection! Do you think many drivers change their mind from "off duty" to "onduty" in the course of trying to go off duty? For the sake of all drivers out here, cut out all the repetitive actions and stream line it!

### "Excellent value for $$"

Been using for several years now and so does my family. Easy, simple, Inexpensive and you can’t beat customer support. Whether using online support and reading through the tutorials or calling someone. They call back, email instructions and provide documentation in the event it doesn’t get fixed in time. By that I mean cab cards for law enforcement advising that an issue is in process of getting fixed.

Pros

Simple to use, can’t beat customer support, can usually fix most issues on my own using online support documents. There are a ton of features and because I’m the only driver I don’t use the majority. So I can’t complain about the cost one bit.

Cons

Integrating fuel purchases into trip report. Doesn’t seem to work for me. I enter the fuel purchases manually at the end of the week because I haven’t found a way to enter it in the program itself.

we have had problems trying to keep the system up and running and have simply given up on using the web cams. Service has been less than expected

Pros

We were forced to use the ELDs. We did not choose to use them. The drivers found it difficult to adapt to it and have become used to it.

Cons

The lay out is constaintly changing and for the most part, trying to get assistance is next to impossible. The equipment is unreliable and to expensive.

Great people, great experience and great product.

Pros

Easy to track locations, easy to track miles for each state. Many great features that we use daily.

Cons

It would be nice to adjust the MPH allowed for yard moves before it kicks the drivers logbook into driving mode. This causes unnecessary breaks when drivers are forced to move out of a yard.

I have been their customer for almost 2 years. They call me many times and Thats how I got their ELD and Dashcam. Unfortunately trucking business is went to a bad situation and I had to close down my business. Even if I was a good customer and I explained what is going on they didn’t even refund anything. I pay yearly and now they are saying I am in contract with 3 years and I have to pay next year also again because they can’t help anything with. I am advising everyone before you sign up with this company. They are not user friendly as you think. They give lots of wonderful words to make you sign with them but once you signed up they act differently. Beware about this matter please

Service and functionality is good. It never got stuck in between.

Cons

About price and contract. Little bit pricey and once we signed with them they are not flexible or user friendly as we think.

KT has been good. It forces compliant drivers, which is a good thing. It also makes IFTA reporting a very easy task compared to how we used to gather the information. Overall, a positive experience.

Pros

Ease of use and accuracy. Forced compliance. One place to track and record all of our trucking details.

Cons

The least user friendly aspect of KT, for us, is the inability to remove assets/vehicles that have been added in error or have been sold and no longer belong in our fleet. Flagging them as "deactivated: and having to scroll through an unwanted, obsolete list is very frustrating.

I will continue to use KeepTruckin and have found that the more familiar I become with the system, the more I am able to find features that are helpful and I like, as well as knowing what will work for me, etc.

Pros

I think the thing I love the most about this software has been the gas tracking. Not only is my driver able to easily and quickly add gas purchases, but they can also be added later and keep track of how much was spent on gas or diesel, how many gallons, and where. I love being able to see average prices all over the company and easily finding out how much is being spent on gas altogether.

Cons

What I like least about this software is probably the way they have dealt with issues regarding my EDL. It was nice to have a backup plan while there was investigation on what was wrong with my system, however, the people on the other end didn't follow up for quite some time.

I am able to see exactly where each one of our trucks are at, therefore I am able to get to my customers quicker. I do not have to wait for them to call in and tell me where they are. I can simply push a button and see everywhere they have been in any day. :)

Pros

I LOVE that I can pull up every truck that we have and see exactly where they are and what they are doing. I also Love that I can put it on my phone and on my mechanics phone and we can both see everything that they are doing.

Cons

I dont think there is anything about yalls software that I do not like.

### "Great product and service, but VERY HIGH AND TRICKY PRICING"

Great devices, great software, easy to install and use. But the pricing is very tricky and very high compared to other ELD devices. Customer support is always trying to upsale aditional services and to extend the contract. It is very hard to purchase a used device as they are locked by KeepTruckin, and they do their best to not sale any replacements by extending their ship dates by weeks! This is not ethical business practice.

Pros

Very easy to use, great support page, customer service is accessible and knowledgeable in regards to use of devise and software.

Cons

Historical location for drivers is only shown on a daily basis, so it is hard to go back and look at the location of each driver on a period of time, for example, a week.

This product has kept us in compliance with the FMCSA and all DOT regulations concerning E-Logs and Hours of Service. I highly recommend it, and when our GPS contract with another company ends, we are planning to use KeepTruckin for our GPS needs.

Pros

This software makes it easy to keep up with where drivers are and what their hours of service are looking like. I am able to quickly check if they are on duty, off duty, or driving. We are able to ensure their breaks are taken on time, and that they don't driver over their allotted time.

Cons

The only con I have with this software is when you assign the unidentified driving time, it goes away after that. I wish their was a tab you could look at to make sure the drivers had accepted the time or still needed too.

KeepTruckin provided the best service at the best price.

### "Dash Cams"

I would not recommend keep Truckin because one, their customer service is horrible, you have an account manager but he/she never reaches out or is ever able to speak with you on the phone when you call, two their dash cam service is horrible. You cannot see past recordings, you have to request it and you are only allowed one minute.

Pros

there isn't much that I actually like. It is a constant issue with this software and you cannot get what you need. Logs are not detailed and dash cam recordings need to be requested.

Cons

The dash cam recordings are not available for us, we have to always request footage and only allowed one minute of footage. This really give the product a bad review, We are paying a lot of money for this service but we cannot get what we need. Stuck in a contract and had little or misled information.

ok unit but not pleased with the safety ,hard braking, low wifi, low data, high cost, and communication in billing department

Pros

not easy but user friendly to a certain degree. once you learn it, app is great

Cons

you should reset eld unit if a driver changes trucks, another driver should not be stuck with the last drivers braking score. low data and wifi service, big motive unit with no other features to it, upgrade it with charging capabilities and other plugs
