If you have to have and ELD this one is a good choice for the ease of reporting, inspection mode, compliance, customer service. they work with many other tracking apps, they are constantly improving and developing, and update current laws and such.

Pros

Everything about this is easy to use and set up. Anyone can use it and set it up. It usually works well with any vehicle, we have used in several different semis and even hot shots. I like the reports for making apportioned and IFTA reporting easy. I have never had any problem that wasn't fixed really quickly. If the unit goes bad they ship another one right away. If you have a problem and can not find how to fix it in help or maybe not typing just the right search you can always call. They have lots of help pages online to help you avoid having to talk to someone, but if a phone call is easier than just call in. I have never had a problem with anything they could not help with yet. We have used them for at least 3 yrs now, some with other companies and some on our own. Other companies and software that we have used was horrible and if we had problems it took people 20+ days to fix. That is never the case with Keep Truckin.

Cons

on some vehicles the odometer mileage does not read correctly. Don't get me wrong the mileage for the trip and day is correct to how many miles and such. it just won't read the odometer so that they match for example 299473 on odometer and it has correct miles per day, and trip. just the odometer reading, not a big deal you just put it in and it runs everything fine. Other that that which is not a big deal, every now and then it will say 30 mins on break and then throw a violation because the time was really 29:57. My drivers know to make it go until 32 mins, just to make sure. It rarely happens but i know it has shown 30 and my husband drove and i was watching it. Then i logged in on the computer and it showed a few seconds less than 30min. i also have not called in about this issue as it has only happened a few times and maybe it was a sync issue that was randomly fix when logging off.

We knew Keep Trucking from using it before with other companies and we just went with them, No need to ever bother with anyone else. We felt like they were the best. We used the app before the ELD mandate went into law and it was just so easy and user friendly.

We worked with a company who used them, it was awful. 3 units went bad in less that 6 months. The first install was horrible and messed up my sync unit in my truck, and never connected past the first day. the second one worked for a few months and then never connected again, then it took them about a week to troubleshoot, then another 21 days before they could get tech out. it was just ridiculous. Luckily we only worked with that company another couple of months and when we got our own authority, we already knew we were going back to Keep Truckin.

### "overall great product"

Overall we are happy with it. We have only had to talk to customer support a few times and they have always been helpful.

Pros

The reports and location history. It is reliable. I've talked to other drivers who use other ELDs and they have strange problems with their that I dont experience

Cons

Geo fencing email notices coming late sometimes. The bread crumb trail in location history covering highway numbers needed for IFTA record keeping. So we end up having to zoom in and out many times to get the numbers. The play button on location history has been helpful at times but it doesn't always give the highway number which is what we need for the IFTA records.

### "#1 thing it is easy for drivers"

overall I like KT. I do believe they should think about giving better rates to the people that have been with them. When we renewed my company chose to not go with KT because someone else made us a better offer and it was not easy to get KT to match the offer and when they did if they would have just offered me that deal in the beginning it would have saved me ALOT of time and since we are a small company TIME is very valuable.

Pros

I have to do the training for drivers so I appreciate how easy it is to train on. I also like knowing where our trucks are and being able to see that everything is ok everyday. Even the drivers that were against ELDs like it and have found it makes life easier.

Cons

customer service and sales teams. I have had so really difficult experiences with both. Not that it is every time I call but I have had people that could not find my account tell me I don't have KT hang up call back and new rep had no problem. I have been so frustrated trying to order a new device that I was ready to just give up but called one more time got someone else and problem solved so I know there are good reps there. Some have accents that are very hard to understand but that is just a minor detail that can usually be worked thru.

Reason for choosing Motive

Because KT was able to get my price back down after quoting me a higher price than I wanted to pay without any updates. Price was the only reason we tried Samsara and it was a good system but KT decided to price match and upgraded to include all the IFTA info and forward cameras and I did not have change all the ELDs out of all my truck to install new ones. Once again the whole thing was a huge waste of time had KT have said hey lets look at upgrading and saving and quoted me the price we ended up getting in the first place it would have been over and done and prevented the feeling of oh so you give new people a break but the people who have been paying you for 2 yrs get a crappy deal to pay for the new peoples good deals.

Overall I like KeepTruckin, the system has been easy to learn and handles my small fleet well. Customer service is usually quick to help resolve issues.

Pros

Overall the software is easy to use. I like the dashboard interface and real time view of my fleet.

Cons

I believe the Inspection logs could be in more detail on the dashboard.

Awsome. Very manager and driver friendly.

Pros

That minimal equipment is needed within the cab. Mobile devices, tablets, and computers are utilized without having to buy expensive onboard units. Being that the system operates off of an app on a mobile device updates are current, quick, and require no extra items to be purchased.

Cons

The system operates off of a cell signal. At times of poor service there might be a period of time where current updates are not seen until a signal is reacquired. This is minimal at best but does occur.

Overall Motive has solved our needs to remain compliant with FMCSA and to monitor our fleet.

Pros

The biggest pro for me is the ability to self-install all Motive equipment in house and not deal with the headache of trying to schedule Motive, trucks and employees in the same place at the same time.

Cons

The biggest downside to Motive is their rewards program. There is absolutely zero customer support to enable you to retrieve your earned rewards that show "pending approval" for an undetermined period.

### "Always room to improve"

We are happy with Keep Trucking. Their customer service is generally amazing - they can usually find a quick way to remedy a situation. The functions it provides are easy to use and helpful for taking care of governmental and insurance requirements.

Pros

I love how easy it is to learn and all the available YouTubes that explain absolutely everything! I also appreciate how KT is looking for ways to make things better or add new services. Their customer service can be AMAZING! We’ve had a three way call with one particularly outstanding young man who assisted an older driver on our fleet with unbelievable patience. He was over the top amazing. Other times I’ve had to call about the same issue repeatedly - which has been referred to engineering at least twice but I never heard back from anyone… and it still isn’t fixed. Our business has lots of room to improve - and so does Keep Trucking:)

Cons

Keep Trucking doesn’t have a way - presently, to keep track of dispatches and load info. It would also be great if we didn’t need another software program for the financial end of things or at least have the option to add it.

We will be solving route planning issues, we will increase driver accountability and involvement, and we will be able to streamline our business processes related to document handling.

Pros

This is a very robust system that has continued to make major improvements since the ELD mandate went into effect. It has all the features we wish we had in our old system and coupled with outward-facing , integrated cameras it has allowed us to have greater confidence from our insurance company allowing us considerations we previously didn't have such as considering driver applicants with less than two years experiance.

Cons

Since we are a brand new user of KeepTruckin, we are still in our learning curve so the answer may change over time, but right now I wish the reporting options were more robust.

Putting aside the robust features of KeepTruckin, we experienced a very professional and balanced sales approach by their representative. There was no high-pressure and he did an amazing job of addressing all our concerns during the decision process.

### "The ease of ELD's"

We lease our Trucks and it use to take upward of 45 minutes to swap a ELD box but now with KT I can do it in under 5 minutes and the driver just has to pair to the KT box.

Pros

We have been using KT for years and it just keeps getting better with the updates and ease of use for our drivers.

Cons

I do wish it had the ability to remind me of Med Cards, MVR and License renewal for each driver.

Pros

I used to sing their praises - if they USED to be a solid platform, then there must be some remaining good bones in there somewhere. They need to get back to basics like knowledgeable customer service. It's super frustrating to call a support line and regularly end up telling the support staff "Yeah... that "solution" isn't going to fix this particular issue" and repeatedly be correct. Maybe they can find their way back to the stellar company they once were?

Cons

Degrading support, connectivity issues mean that logs get thrown out of compliance - having to edit and assign drive time after the fact doesn't help drivers keep track of their time, etc. Unreliable.

### "Customer service needs help!"

System works as they say but for what I need is not required.

Pros

The equipment is well worth the money and operates as expected. You can monitor the truck every mile it travels and also tells you how the truck is running. You can actually see where the truck is and how fast or slow it is going.

Cons

Their sales team will promise you things and not follow through with it. They said I could upgrade my cameras at not charge and three months later I was charged for them. When you call to ask why they said I authorized it and also extended the plan term. None of which I did because the salesman told do not sign anything. When I called they told me they were going to review the phone records and see what was actually said. No one ever called me back so a week later I called back again and went through the same conversation. The gentleman which was hard to understand told me that he will send me a request for a refund and all I had to do was to sign it and send it back. When I received the email it had on another extension of contract so I questioned it and he said don’t worry in the top left corner says amendment. So in order for me to get my $800.+ refund I had to sign ( ducu sign ) . Received the refund but still was being charged for the camera’s monthly fee when I told them to cancel it. Then in January I was charged again for one month of camera service and then in February was charged for three more months of camera service. Called back and had to sign another AMENDMENT to the contract to get another refund. Every time I call I go through this process and seem like I’m not getting any response . They keep saying we will review the phone conversation and get back. I am not using the program at all being that I am local now and don’t need the ELD service .

### "Love the product... just needs a few tweeks"

I have used a few other systems and this is by far better and easier to use.

Pros

I love the ability to see my split log just by checking a box

Cons

1) It would be nice see my recap with out having to go into DOT inspection mode. It should be listed right next to the graph. 2) The times on the graph at the end of each duty status should be in minutes NOT percent of an hour. 3) It would be great if there was an external button a driver could hit to mark and save a video file. So, even if they are not involved in an incident they can go back and find the file to be reviewed and sent to the police or concerned parties. As it is now, unless there is a event detected ie: hard braking or cornering etc, it is almost impossible to find the video. For example, if parked in a dock or at a truck stop and driver sees another truck hit somebody else's truck or damages property, it would be nice to be able to retrieve that video file.

I like to keep trucking up I like the updates only thing I could really complain I wish they had better cameras for behind the trailers or alongside the trucks cameras would be a big impact for me also trucking GPS if you guys could actually start doing that you would really help out navigation

Overall the software is very easy to use I would rather have the cameras updated if anything the side view and also behind the trailers and a bigger vision of the truck outside cameras most definitely

A lot easier a lot more self-explanatory easy to work with the updates the mileage control for after fuel tax or anything the trucking industry not a lot of money so customer support needs help waiting too long on the phone

### "Hauling with Motive"

I am extremely happy with Motive's ELD.

Pros

My favorite feature currently is the dash cam. I am able to pull up the dash cam and see the road condition that my driver is experiencing.Motive is easy to use on my mobile and easier on my laptop. The navigating the system is easy to learn. It's a lot to learn but that is a good thing because that means that Motive provides a lot of options for your business.

Cons

I would like to see the option to upload a fuel receipt and it take pertinent information from the receipt and add it to Motive's IFTA report.Motive is easy to use but there are a lot of features that may be helpful for my business and I'm just not aware of the feature. I'm not sure if there are videos to inform the customer of what is available on Motive.I would like to see an integration with my fuel diesel cards applications. This would increase the simplicity of my IFTA report by only using Motive instead of using Motive and my fuel card app.

Motive came highly recommended by a person on social media. I did not shop other companies because this person has a lot of followers and the followers back his choice.

### "Best ELD!!!"

We have been using Keep Truckin software to book better paying loads, do payroll of our drivers, monitor our vehicles, pay our IFTA taxes and above all keeping our drivers a safety mindset on the road whilst in full compliance with the DOT. I have found Keep Truckin as the best software within our transportation industry.

Pros

The one thing that pulls Keep Truckin Company and its products apart from the the rest is their tremendous Service Quality. I have always found their support representatives attentive, courteous, knowledgeable, professional and can-do attitude to sort out each problem in the most efficient manner.

Cons

The only Con which is true for other ELD providers too is the education of our driver staff especially the newer ones to completely understand all the features of the ELD. Actually Keep Truckin has done tremendous initiatives in this area by making lots of educational videos available. In many cases the Keep Truckin support has also provided coaching to our drivers when put on conference call with our drivers. Like I said earlier, the service quality aspect from Keep Truckin is unbeatable.

All and all Keep Truckin is a great asset to put business.

Pros

I love how easy it is for the drivers to use. The support staff for the most part are always helpful. I save a lot of time with IFTA reporting.

Cons

The thing I like the least is the video review from the cameras. It is hard to retrieve the video based on 3 minutes at a time. Though that is an improvement from the 1 minute it used to be. I also feel like the hard breaking is not always a hard break, and getting them adjusted so you do not get so many hard breaks is kind of a pain

We went with Keep Truckin when DOT mandated it. I was looking for something easy for the drivers and cost effective for the company.

Incredibly mediocre at best. It seems like Keep Truckin is more concerned with rolling out new features and gaining market share over fixing old issues and keeping current customers happy. We will not be renewing at the end of the contract. We require a more reliable ELD service.

Pros

It has many of the functions we need to locate our fleet.

Cons

The updates. We use company supplied tablets to interface with the Keep Truckin ELD. We used to rely on the internet connection supplied by the Keep Truckin ELD to keep the ELD application up to date. There are so many updates that we found ourselves running out of plan data. To be clear, we lock the tablets down so only Keep Truckin app can be used so it is not other apps. We have recently shut down our automatic updates for the Keep Truckin app which means my fleet is constantly behind on updates - some which are critical for the operation. It creates a real hardship to have to manually update our Keep Truckin ELD app when trucks come through the home terminal. Also, trucks that will not leave the drive line when the truck stops is becoming more frequent. ELD connectivity is a real problem.

It seemed like we would get more features and the ELD would be more user friendly for the drivers.

Customer service is fantastic, quick, and thorough. Trucking is much easier with the Motive system and I don't think I'd want to go back to how we did this before Motive.

Pros

GPS location and the clear, clean camera videos are my favorite services of Motive. I use GPS tracking often along with the geofencing. It allows me to give very quick answers to my customers when they need updates on my driver's location. Trip history is also a great tool for exact mileage of each leg of a hauled load when extra stops are added last minute.

Cons

The geofence entry/exit notifications do not come to my inbox as quickly as I would like but I still love the feature. Getting the reports that I need is cumbersome for me.

For every challenge that I experienced, KeepTruckin got a team of people on and fixed it. They communicated what was going on with the issue, and one time when it took a little longer than usual to get back to me, I called and the matter was resolved immediately. What I discovered, for the most part, is that it was me who needed more training concerning the product.

Pros

I love the ease with which one can use it. There is a tutorial provided, but you can still call and speak to a live person if you have a question about any product. For me, this is #1 when it comes to customer services. The complaint that I heard in any market is that people are tired of speaking with computers, with KeepTruckin, you are not required to speak with a computer, but for those who like it, its also available.

Cons

I am not sure if it dispatches, I wish it could allow dispatching. This would add the crown jewel to an already great product.

Pros

I really like the live tracking feature where you can literally see the truck moving down the road and the speed it is going.

Cons

The customer service knowledge and presentation could be improved. Sometimes it seems that my team knows features and work arounds in the system that the service techs do now yet know. I also feel like some conversations are a bit rushed and not presented with more understanding for the driver.

Customer service is USELESS. I have talked to them so many times that I finally realized that they all read from a script. They all have the same answer when presented with equipment that does not work, and will not stay connected. They would want to switch out the gateway for the truck. The new gateway would not work either. I would call back time after time, and then they would still want to switch out equipment. I would explain that we have already switched numerous times for this one truck and always "I WILL ESCALATE YOUR ISSUE AND SOMEONE WILL REACH OUT TO YOU." Sometimes they would call and that was always our "new account" manager but the odd thing was I could NEVER get ahold of the person again. Please save yourself the stress of being up in the middle of the night working on trying to get the dashcam or ELD to stay connected. A few of our trucks the equipment worked for the most part. But the other trucks would not stay connected. I signed a contract with these people for working equipment. They breached the contract when they failed to provide working equipment for all of our trucks. The trucks that KT would not work in had to be switched back to our old company. I did not want to have to have two logbook dashboards going so I switched everything back to our old company. I have a three ring binder of the emails and documentation between me and KT.

Pros

Majority of equipment would never stay connected.

Cons

There are so many reasons why I would never recommend Keep Truckin that I do not know where to start. We are a small company and it was a huge decision to change our ELD. I thought I did adequate research and read many reviews. It seemed to have good ratings and the features we were looking for and I made the switch. The monetary cost is significant for a small company, but it has not bearing on the amount of stress Keep Truckin caused for myself.

Reason for choosing Motive

NEVER USE KEEP TRUCKIN. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS USLESS AND EQUIPMENT THAT WORKS 50/50 CHANCE EACH DAY. FYI I really wish that KT would have worked. It had a lot of feature that could have been useful if it stayed connected. Having to switch drivers back to old logs was stressful enough. It would have been a lot easier if KT would have just worked as advertised. Also, there was a huge communication/language barrier between us and the customer service people/and management people. We are from Texas, they are not. I wish someone would have left a review for KT from an honest perspective when I was looking at it. So this review is for you if you are looking for an honest account first hand of the misery I embarked upon with this company.

Horrible .. I have over 500+ emails to correct issues with their system over 2 years and still have the same issues. Get constant calls from their support who then never follow up or fix anything ever only to receive an email saying thank you your case has been closed when nothing has been done.

Pros

This should be an asset to my company instead it is a constant aggravation and issue. THe system is full of issues and has never worked or been accurate a single day. the devices fail constantly the website is never accurate or intelligent . I have had the same issues for now 2 years and nothing has been done. They do not understand and customer support is not in the US and very frustrating. the equipment and tracking is never accurate. I have had to replace almost every device now multiple times and have to fight to get anything done about the inaccuracies, they refuse to realize it is an issue with their software yet in the end every time that is what is has been. You cannot rely on any of the reports to be accurate and forget trying to use the trailer tracking as it never works. The logs are always wrong showing the wrong equipment as the system does not update and never works. Unassigned miles will become a full time job you will have to hire someone to do and there devices disconnect and don't track hundreds of miles daily. the integration with prophesy and automatic check calls never work and gives inaccurate info to customers. The dispatching does not work if devices are down and that is daily so it cannot be used to dispatch as they is no way to dispatch to a rental truck or a device that is down and theor devices never work so you cannot use it to dispatch as you would be screwed daily . they are clearly not in transportation and do not understand how it works

### "KeepTruckin/Motive The Worst ELD To Use In Trucking Business - BE WARNED!"

KeepTruckin/Motive is the worst in the ELD business. Truckers please don't use them. If you think the system is bad enough, call customer service. Those people are the worst in dealing with customers. When they failed to electronically logged our unit, they continue to take our money under false pretense. It does not matter how many times you call the worse customer service company around, nothing is done. Our company almost lost our authority because the device was not electronically logging. This is the worst I have seen. They have now changed their name from KeepTruckin to Motive to let go the their bad reputation. That will not work because your system and bad customer service remain the same. They will unethically lock you in a 48 month contract even when they tell you that it's not a contract. I could never recommend KeepTruckin/Motive.

Pros

Nothing actually! They are the worst. I hear that they were the worst and We decided to give them a chance but they lived up to the bad name they usually get.

Cons

It did not electronically logged which is what we contracted for. Thats the requirement by FMSCA and they don't even care that they device is not doing what we are paying them to do. No matter how much we called and complained, they did nothing except for promises. If you want to BE IN PROBLEMS with FMSCA, you can use them.

### "A great all-in-one platform"

I am happy with Motive. I like having so many modules in a single platform. We utilize the API which is now a central part of our maintenance plan.

Pros

Motive is a forward-thinking company. The recent rebranding shows that this is not a stagnant project. Motive is always releasing new features that add value.

Cons

I dont really have a major con to list. There are times when an ELD driving event may be logged incorrectly - often at the fault of the driver, and it would be nice to edit those events; if compliance allows it.

### "one of the best out there , and people are starting to realize it .."

we were with a larger company and the problems we had were astronomical. the drivers had a terrible time setting it up and getting comfortable with the system, once we changed to Keep Truckin' we never had another issue, the drivers downloaded the app easily and didn't have a problem catching on to the functions.

Pros

the set up, the ease in use for the drivers, and customer service is miles above the others. They are always there and willing to help ,, IF we can understand them ..

Cons

they keep changing things ,, if it works LEAVE IT ALONE , about the time we have things figured out and can find what we need you guys change it, and the updates seem to ALWAYS cause an issue someplace .. Also many of the customer service agents are very hard to understand due to a language barrier. and sometimes feel they are not understanding our issue.

one of my drivers had used it, and was so impressed, he brought it in to me to try. we decided it was one that would fit into our operations and not cost prohibiting .
