June 18, 2022 5.0 I can't find this level of service for the price anywhere else. No other companies can even come close. I also love that they often work with entrepreneurs of small businesses like mine, so they know my unique challenges and can address them. Pros I have a dedicated person to help walk me through my financials whenever needed. Cons Sometimes there is difficulty connecting with some financial institutions so I have to upload a report each month. Pros Customer service is great - our account rep always gets back to us in at most 24 hours and always with helpful answers or information. Provide them monthly statements for your bank, credit card, PayPal, etc. and they handle it from there. Cons Sometimes the hands off approach is a little difficult to change. Pros Right from the beginning Bench made everything extremely easy. My bookeeping is now completely hands-off. Our bookkeeper is always very easy to reach if we have questions and learned our business practices extremely fast. Cons I wish I could combined the income statement and other reports to stretch over different years. For instance, if we could view December 2020 and January 2021 in one report instead of having to do the math that would be fantastic. I have multiple checking and business card card accounts. I needed a reasonably priced resource to track all of that for me and put it in a format I could easily see each month, quarter, and year. Bench does it all and with maximum responsiveness, professionalism, and consistency that makes me feel confident they have it together. Exceptional customer service and the software is easy to use, access, and does everything I need it to do. Cons American Express integration doesn't work, but I blame that on AE. I have to download those statements every month and upload to Bench. My simple solution though was to stop using AE and use my other business cards instead. Pros I loved the idea of having a bookkeeper but it wasn't as user-friendly as using quickbooks. Cons I disliked how my bank accounts didn't really play nice with the Bench software the same way they do with QBO. I felt like I was paying a premium price and still having to do a bulk of the work. May 20, 2019 4.0 I'm happy to use them overall. I wanted to take this off my place and have someone else manage and they are certainly doing that. They are just a bit slower than I would like. Pros I really like the balance sheet and income statements. Cons The support is a bit difficult to deal with. There's 4-5 unnecessary calls for setting up the account and seems to be as disconnect among staff there. I was also cancelled on last minute and had a no show. Pros Bench is extremely user-friendly. Customer service is great. It takes care of the bookkeeping so I don't have to worry about it. Cons Some of the reports are a bit lacking. Pros Bench had a very simple and easy onboarding process that gave me a ton of clarity as to how the work would be done and what I could expect. I was shown how they would access my financials, how they would organize expenses and more. Cons Something I wasn't aware of when initially signing up with Bench was that they are a bookkeeping service and not a CPA. At first, I didn't know the difference but it was explained. Pros Onboarding was pretty easy. The features actually work. Their automatic reconciling and messaging with issues is really good. Cons Fonts are hard to read sometimes. Uploader works well but sometimes the bookkeepers don't seem to see that I've uploaded something. Probably something amiss on that side of the software. Pros The Bench team was there every step to explain what the software did, how to use it and what they need from me. I am super busy so I needed hand holding and that's exactly what the bench team did. Cons I had to do some of the integrations manually, such as sending over bank statements, but I would to have had to do this with a regular bookeeper anyway.
