I opened my own Boutique Fitness Studio in May 2025 and was looking for easy-to-use software. I was previously using Wellness Living (at the studio I was teaching before), but didn't need all the bells and whistles that make things much more complicated and glitchy. I was used to Trainerize, so using Glofox made sense. It's been really great so far and I haven't had any issues and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a software.

Pros

I had a great introductory call and signed up on the spot. I love the easy-to-use software; there hasn't been any service interruption since using it. The software runs smoothly and doesn't really need any explanation. I wish there were a few features that I was used to before, but overall, for any small studios, this is a great service for a very great price that does everything, including billing, marketing, sales, etc.

Cons

I wish there was a way for monthly members to book more than 30 days in advance to prevent waitlists and frustration.

Overall, we’ve had a very positive experience with Glofox. It has allowed us to run a more complex and flexible business model than most platforms support, while keeping things relatively smooth for both staff and families. The onboarding process was excellent, and once set up, the system has been reliable and efficient. Despite a few minor glitches, it has been a strong solution for our needs and has made managing our programs much easier.

Pros

Glofox is incredibly flexible and has been able to support our drop-in third space model for a children’s learning center, which includes a wide variety of offerings like hourly bookings, classes, camps, and events. Most children-specific platforms couldn’t handle the volume and flexibility we need, but even though Glofox is designed for gyms, it works really well for our business. It’s easy for parents to use, keeps everything organized, and has significantly streamlined our operations.

Cons

There are occasional glitches, especially when parents try to add multiple children to bookings, which can cause some confusion. We’ve also noticed that appointments don’t show up under bookings, which requires an extra email to parents or our end if the email confirmation that they’ve booked isn’t enough. These issues aren’t constant, but they do come up from time to time.

### "6 Months waiting for a fix re: scheduling issues"

I started a new spa and infrared Hot Yoga business in July 2024. The sales team tells you everything you want to hear boasting support, ease and profitability. My onboarding rep was not knowledgeable and frequently responded to my questions with “I’ll find out” and then to never provide a straight answer- for this I didn’t complain just muddled through to get open in time. Then out of the blue, I was given a new rep who after I shared my concerns, apologized for the inconvenience but did no better besides offering up excuses why the answers are hard to come by. The leading answer was due to the people who build this app are located in Ireland and the time change provides difficulty for getting answers timely. That’s a Glo fox issue not the problem of the business people trusting the company we are paying to do the job. I was sold at the start about the pre-sales ability within the system. Odd that the salesmen could speak so highly about it but the on-boarders didn’t have a clue how to make that happen. I paid for several months before opening in hopes to have a solidified app to open my new business with and to conduct pre-sales to provide a huge opening month. This did not occur! I should have backed out prior to opening but I’m always leaning toward hopefulness. A few months go by clients do love the app and it does keep track of my unlimited clients packages which is very nice and yes even easy for yogis and spa clients. October arrived and I’m not sure if the app had an update or what occurred but all the sudden without any change to the schedule/availability on my end and (in fact the back end shows my correct hours), clients can all the sudden book appointments well into the night all the way to 2 am. I have had to call several clients to reschedule which doesn’t look good on a new business. I reported it right away in October. Multiple reports through multiple reps even the sales rep who sold me the package. No one has been able to fix this creating more desk work for me which is why I went with Glo fox in the first place to reduce my desk time. Finally in December I was connected with a rep I can reach out to for follow up regarding my concerns with the scheduling/availability times. Even after she heard my concerns no one has been able to fix the issue. She was able to provide me with a very tiny discount for the month of January and February. I followed up today and she does respond within the same day thankfully, but the answer is completely unacceptable. Her response: “The fix is still in the works by our engineering team. I currently do not have an exact ETA, but it is prioritized for this quarter.“ The quarter ends in March, that is 6 months of non answers and no fixes and last week a new issue has arrived. I can no longer adjust the price at check out. I haven’t heard any response on this new thing that is happening. I’m posting to help people make better choices- read reviews don’t make the mistake I did by attempting to stay hopeful.

Pros

The app is great for the clients and not having other business advertising to my clients on my businesses app.

Cons

Customer service is terrible. 6 months asking for assistance. Misrepresentation at sales level.

I switched from Virtuagym and the experience with glofox is night and day compared to virtuagym. If you are outgrowing you current CRM then Glowfox is the platform for you.

Pros

Easy onboarding, feature rich platform at affordable price. Very scalable solution for multiple locations. Branded app is a must have, it solves all of my scheduling and appointment management! Automation and organization of leads and clients is excellent.

Cons

Live customer service comes after a few different AI Q&A exchanges. I dont think glowfox is any different than any other company nowadays moving to automation

Exactly what a studio needs. The platform is intuitive for both the admin and the members. Setting up classes, memberships and payments was straightforward. Recommended for any boutique fitness studio.

Pros

Solid platform for managing a Pilates studio Scheduling and membership management work smoothly. The onboarding process was simple and the team was helpful whenever I had questions.

Cons

Their integration with Wellhub is not fully completed. So I have some troubles with some of our customers that come from that platform

I have started using the app about 10 months ago. It has a lot of functions that I needed to run everything more centralized at my yoga studio, so it has helped a lot, especially in managing the booking, keeping track of all customers, transactions and communication. It has helped me the overall running of the studio as it has saved me some time of the tasks I used to do manually. ;)

Pros

The booking system and managing classes has become much easier for me. having all clients information in one place, including bookings, payments helps me manage my client database easier.

Cons

No Urban sport integration. Workshops and events is not so well, I wish it´s easier to publish them and they can still show in the calendar with classes but managing them in a slightly different way as some of them are one off events.

theres alot of settings, functionality which is pretty awesome. And surely, it takes time aswell to set this all up. But once its set, its quite easy to handle the system.

Pros

Its a big system with alot of functionality, but the service and onboarding service was great. Louise was always reachable and helpful!

Cons

The integration of moving members from another studio to a new studio. Unfortunetaly there was alot of manual work to be done. Like setting the correct membership, dates and so on. Also when creating staff. Upon deleting them, you can't use the same emails unless you change it again, despite it being deleted. One major defect is that not all customers get emailed when pressing forgot password.

Amazing! Any issues I’ve had have been handled fast and easy! I loved my rep and architect, and when I needed customer service late at night they helped me right away!

Pros

Back end having everything you need to run a successful business and follow up with customers. It’s easy once you get through on boarding.

Cons

I wanted to take a moment to share my thoughts regarding my recent experience with GloFox. While I appreciate the friendly demeanor of the staff, I have unfortunately encountered significant challenges with support from both the staff and management. We were charged $1,500 despite not being fully onboarded due to ongoing software issues. It appears that the contract primarily serves to protect GloFox from customer dissatisfaction and the implications of its practices. I feel that management prioritizes financial gain over customer satisfaction, which has impacted my overall experience. I believe there is an opportunity for improvement in how customer concerns are addressed. Thank you for considering this feedback. Other solutions such as Mindbody, Acuity, and Vagaro offered the features GloFox lacked but we did not discover these missing features until we signed a 3-month contract. Spend more time than you think you need with the sales staff before committing. Software may work for a ton of companies but if you have a unique use case then ask every question you have before signing anything and make them demo everything before signing. They will not let you out of the contract even when they realize they will not be able to serve your needs. $1500 wasted. Best regards, Andrew Woodward

User Interface works nice and the idea of the app is nice too but other companies exceed them on both features.

Cons

Basic booking features are missing and management cares more about holding you in a contract than doing the right thing. We did not onboard a single member onto this platform once we realized it was not the right solution. We have gone to Mindbody and are completely satisfied with their services.

Awful! I would 100% stay away and save your money. Mindbody is criminally expensive and I would rather go there because their customer service was miles better.

Pros

Surface level, it looks pretty, easy to use and has a good customer user interface.

Cons

Their customer service is awful. I was told "I don't know, here's a YouTube video." They deactivated my entire business by accident, deleting all of my memberships and billing cycles. They were unable to fix it other than reopening the account to everything being deleted. Then refused to help or compensate us for lost revenue.

The customer service is phenomenal. They absolutely go out of their way to resolve issues and help you. The system is easy to use and does everything I need it too!

Pros

I love that I can use one system to have my client list, book classes, take payments and manage memberships easily. I love that is easily connects to KISI so that my members get emailed access to the door as soon as they sign up!

Cons

I wish it would show a better detailed list for when a client uses punches for classes or if they cancel it shows they get a credit back. I also wish that the mobile app would allow me to manage memberships a bit better. I currently cant hold /pause a membership from my mobile app or I am unable to manually charge a client for a membership that is past due. They told me they could transfer all my members (they meant only the adults not the kids), they told me I could enter in bank information (they meant the customer has to enter in their own bank information), they told me I would be able to transfer credit card transaction fees to the customer (they meant I could charge custom fees to specific memberships), and they did not tell me I would have to personally book each member into classes to track attendance. So much of this software is so complicated, and not at all a good fit for my business.

Pros

I liked the look of it. I was first attracted to Glofox from the modern look of the app and website integration.

Cons

Nothing was as promised. They will not give you straight answers as they sign you up. You have to pay before using the app. They will not refund unused paid months of their worthless service. If all you want is software where people register and book themselves into classes then this will work for you. If you want more out of your gym software management then this is not the product for you.

Poor. There was a lot of support and offering of deals prior to sign up. Beyond that point the price was hiked up hugely and terms changing meaning we were wrapped in for a long time. I would not recommend.

Pros

It was relatively simple to use and familiar from having previous usage at another gym.

Cons

The software available was very basic for the cost being extremely high. We had plenty of user problems too with people struggling to process their payments and lots of crashing within the app. I am extremely disappointed with the change in terms meaning we now have to pay for another 3 months worth of usage on a product we now won’t use.

The systems ease-of-use, functionality, flexibility, customer transparency exceeded my expectations. The onboarding account manager was so friendly, approachable and accommodating - answering emails efficiently and jumping on a Q&A call at the drop of a hat. I have launched my new studio within 3 weeks using Glofox, and had a fantastic result the same day of launch - Thank you!

Pros

From the initial demo with \[sensitive content hidden\] , to the completion of the set-up with \[sensitive content hidden\] , this product and its people are absolutely brilliant. The demo was to the point, and they really understood my business offering and concerns from the get-go. The first company I have dealt with who understand the pain points of onboarding with technology that has really taken the customer experience to new heights. I was really impressed with onboarding portal that walks you through the site step-by-step - it really is time saving!

There is no instagram link option for your profile (only Facebook and Twitter).

I spent a decent chunk of money (~$650) to simply try out the program for 3 months; 1 week in I knew it wouldn't work for my needs, but gave it the ol' college try to see if it would grow on me. They didn't have recurring appointments, so I would need to log in daily to add in my recurring clients in advance so those slots didn't fill. Fair enough, it just doesn't suit my needs at the moment.Since I've decided that this program didn't suit my needs/wants, I've been trying to cancel my renewal for over 2 weeks now with no one from customer service getting back to me. There is no way to cancel for myself online, so I've been reaching out to customer service with phone calls & emails, as well as the people who helped me through onboarding (who were wonderful along the way btw) but no one is getting back to me with a solution. The one response I got from my onboarding person was not the answer to my question, but rather a link to book an appointment with her, with her only availability being after my renewal date. Not impressed with the follow through on this! Kinda feels like they do the work to get you into a subscription, but none of the work to keep you happy once you're past onboarding!If the cancelling hasn't been such a hassle, I wouldn't have a negative thing to say about this assuming it meets your needs for your business, it's decent looking, has billing and scheduling etc, but it should NOT be this difficult to talk to someone.

Pros

It looked nice (branding etc) it appeared to encompass all aspects of a what a gym would need to operate. Onboarding people were very nice and helpful.

Cons

Layout of customer app wasn't great, had less tech-savvy customers have issues booking an appointment because it wasn't a super smooth process. Didn't have recurring appointments when I signed on (it's currently in beta), didn't have different location booking for separate training areas when multiple clients need booking for the same timeslot.

Pros

Easy to use for the member's to book, get confirmations and see their booking on the app. Great back end information and easy to use for the owner

Cons

Some of the after-hours customer service reps are subpar. There are a few features of the app (specifically around the Kisi integration) that need some improvements.

### "Constant New Features While Core Tools Are Broken"

New features are constantly added while existing features are broken. There’s no way include or track sales tax in the store, but instead they’re planning to add payroll processing. If it can’t handle USA sales tax, would I trust that my state payroll taxes have been properly filed? Features seem half finished while others outside the core business are instead being focused on. The new product announcements usually don’t seem relevant. I’ve reported bugs like dates jumping when editing/saving a Course description, and told by Support that I’m wrong. I’ve occasionally had a good experience with customer service, telling me where a feature is located, but typically their answers are irrelevant or tell me a workaround, with no date on when a broken feature will be fixed. I work with a different person each time, and there’s no consistency in the Support.

Pros

The graphics of the software are minimal and well designed. It processes monthly and pro-rated memberships very well. I mostly teach multi-week courses, which competitor softwares couldn’t handle. It saves credit cards on file and allows custom charges (which I use in lieu of the nonfunctional merchandise store.)

Cons

I loved the software during my demo, but have been constantly disappointed since then. They began charging me before the platform was set up for my studio, which took two weeks and missed my grand opening date. In my demo I was shown how easily the bookings integrate into Squarespace, but later learned that’s true only if you upgrade to Squarespace Premium. I loved the ‘Book a Buddy’ feature, but it broke 9 months ago and still hasn’t been fixed. I found out that it was broken because students had +1’s registered but the payment on the extra spots hadn’t gone through. I reported it to Glofox and was told that they were already aware. I lost out on dozens of unpaid bookings and Glofox never let its customers know or removed the feature. It took three emails to Support for them to successfully turn it off on my platform. After the initial demo and signup there is no transparency on pricing or product tiers. I had been planning to change from semi-annual to yearly payment, but my credit card was automatically billed before I had the chance (and without my consent.) I’m a Platinum customer, but I can’t compare tiers of pricing or features.

Reason for choosing ABC Glofox

The sales person and demo instructor were great. I knew that many features were still in development but I was happy with the core functionality. The product has not lived up to the initial, very thoughtful demos and the support has not matched their level of knowledge or attention to detail.
