Pros

The ease of use and the integrations and capabilities of the product. The open enrollment has made it easier for us as well.

Cons

Sometimes we run into minor errors with the system but very rarely but has been resolved with the escalation team.

The overall experience is wonderful, excellent customer service, connects direct to the HRIS and Insurance platform saving hours of manual labor hours for me. In addition, it has compliance reminders to help me stay compliant with required notices and law changes. I highly recommend this product as a one stop solution for your benefits platform.

Pros

The application is extremely user friendly and really simplifies getting employees enrolled in benefits. This application also helps ensure that we are maintaining compliance with changes and required notices. The customer support has been amazing as well, I have never had to wait more than a few hours to get an issue resolved. The application connects the benefits deductions directly to our HRIS software eliminating the need for manual entries. It is a great tool for the busy HR professional.

Cons

There really are no cons, we do have divisions that we have to enter which can be a pain but that is organization specific and not anything that Employee Navigator has required!

We have loved the user friendly process from the Employee side but from the set up standpoint or the changing from year to year, it is cumbersome and not fun to work with. We have had an expert at Employee Navigator set up our product and it is still rough.

Pros

We went from Paper enrollment forms to having everything online and easy to use and see. The reports that were then at your fingertips were amazing!

Cons

Software is limited and confusing to set up. We have been using it for 3 years and it still isn't set up correctly and with all the kinks worked out.

I feel it’s an adequate tool to display the benefits one is enrolled in. The open enrollment is fairly straightforward

Pros

The ability to have information available to me in a relatively simplistic format. Nothing overly complex with navigating, not too many parent/child folders and tabs to bounce to and from

Cons

That it’s segregated from payroll. And when I think about benefits on whole, I’d like to see a better conductor with things like Paylocity to be able to look at things more holistically.

Overall a great program and most of the negatives or opportunities are more of a communication issue not so much the site.

Pros

I do like the reports on the site and the ability to see in real time the updates after the employee completes their benefits so we can ensure the update is in payroll timely.

Cons

Some of the features are not as helpful especially around feeds to your payroll the communication was not clear when we decided to use them for Employee Benefit Platform instead of our HCM

Our overall experience has been very positive. The program is designed to be simple and easy for employees to be able to enroll in their benefits and for administrators to easily find reports.

Pros

I like the ease of the program. It makes my job so much easier with all the reporting features, tracking new hires to make sure they have enrolled in benefits. The ease of integrating with our payroll company.

Cons

There isn't anything I don't like about the program. I can't find any con to report. It's simply the easiest program to use for employees and Administrators.

Pros

Employee Navigator is a valuable resource for automation between multiple systems. It is a secure platform for benefit enrollments to be sent to insurance carriers, as well as employee payroll.

Cons

I honestly do not have anything negative to say. The integration team worked out all issues before production. We have had a very easy transition with the entire process.

Navigator has been super smooth and easy to use, I make sure any broker I work with utilizes this product for a seamless transition and easy benefits enrollment period.

Pros

Employee Navigator is a great system to track employee benefits. It connects directly to our payroll system and always has up-to-date, accurate information. It is easy for both the employees and the employer to use during open enrollment. All the benefits documents are easy to find and running enrollment reports are super easy.

Cons

The only problem I have is that I wish there were more report options, like some to show employer vs employee cost of covereage.

Our overall experience with Employee Navigator is excellent! It helps us keep track of our benefits - from Open Enrollment to changes in premiums. I can't imagine our lives without it!

Pros

There are so many wonderful things about Employee Navigator, I don't even know where to begin! It integrates seamlessly with our payroll software and keeps up with all of our employee benefit changes, even the smallest changes, such as a premium change due to a salary change. It allows us to roll out our new plans during Open Enrollment and helps us track compliance. It's also at a price point that makes it worth every penny!

Cons

There aren't many things I don't like about Employee Navigator, it is easy to use and nearly foolproof. It has yet to let me down.

It has been a good experience working with Navigator. It tracks our benefit enrollment and deduction. It has been easy to use.

Pros

I enjoy that Employee Navigator can be integrated with payroll systems, allowing for seamless movement of payroll data.

Cons

There are limits on what you can do as a user. An example is reminders, when conducting open enrollment, I had to schedule the reminders to go out. The latest reminder was 2 days before enrollment closed. I would like the ability to send out at any time.

Pros

It has a great user interface and is easy for HR and employees to use. We received feedback from employees that the online enrollment flow is easy to use during our very first Open Enrollment on EN and that is saying something if the employees find it easy to use! Also the Evidence of Insurability tracking is easy and seamless. We and our client struggle and spend hours tracking and reviewing EOI from other systems while EN's is easy to build on the plan side and easy to understand from the employee and HR views. We also love the carrier integrations. We mostly have ancillary carrier integrations, no medical ones yet. I manage the 834 EDI feeds on the self-service system for our medical carriers and that is also easy to use. Finally we love the automatic reminders that can be scheduled for new hires and open enrollment and we love the ability to customize the notifications for different actions in the system both for broker and for client's HR team.

Cons

It is a rules-based system so if you have clients who like to make their own rules , well then this will frustrate them. You do have the ability to manually edit effective dates of enrollments and coverage amounts but otherwise the extra effort of tracking and processing special exceptions will exhaust you and the client and it will also make the option of carrier integrations an impossibility because you will have so many error discrepancy reports to fix. You also only have one person from your agency who can contact service on your behalf unless you pay extra for another premier user. Sometimes this can be frustrating to funnel every question and issue through one person.

I wish the custom reporting was a little more user friendly. Other than that I have no complaints about it.

It's been a positive experience, other than a few times when things didn't work (e.g., new Team Member couldn't log on).

Pros

I love how easily Employee Navigator connects to other platforms such as Paylocity. This makes it easier as an owner to make sure that nothing gets entered incorrectly or anything is missed. Also love the notifications about onboarding, birthdays, etc. Lastly, it's great that my insurance broker can also work on things for me on the Employee Navigator.

Cons

There have been times when new Team Members aren't able to log on and we have to wait as well as troubleshoot things.

Having worked on other platforms, I find that Employee Navigator serves the mid-market client's purpose really well. Integration options with different carriers is a big plus; thus reducing manual work by the client/broker.

Pros

Employee Navigator provides a user friendly benefit administration system that can be customized to be an informative experience for the employees. The system is easy to manage from an HR admin prospective and with various integration option, the process can be seamless.

Cons

Our clients often ask for customized text on the employee facing screens; this is a drawback to the platform. Customization of scheduled reports is another shortcoming; but the development team at EENav is always looking for enhancement ideas from their users.

Love this system, with each day you will learn something new and gain more knowledge. Would recommend EN to all brokers/agencies!!

Pros

EN offers Online Training for Primer Users. Once trained your client builds will go smoothly. You have the ability to testing out features with Demo EEs you can add and this is also an additional layer of training for your HR clients who are using the system. Integrate whenever you can, start with the data exchange preferred carriers this saves your agency staff time on manual eligibility processing and makes for less carrier audits needed which saves your client and your agency time. Love the Onboarding feature for new hires, Asset tracking of company equipment, the PTO feature is available and you also can process ACA in EN for 50+ eligible clients. All of the above is handle within Employee Navigator with one login to the same system, not different systems but within EN which make things easier for everyone. No hidden fees. You will not be disappointed. We love the system and so do our clients and their employees who are using it daily. To close EN Support will never let you down, their TEAM is amazing, very professional and knowledgeable. Can not say enough positive above Employee Navigator, embrace the system and learn the functions and you will see the positive impact as our agency has.

Cons

With any new system you have to embrace the system and how it works. The biggest challenge we had was creating the workbook we use to collect the data for the new client builds and with only 1 person handling EVERYTHING in EN setting a reasonable turn around time to set client expectations but that had nothing to do with EN directly.

Reason for choosing Employee Navigator

We use EN, Ease, GIS and a couple of other systems but are working to get as many of our 100+ clients on EN as possible in a workload that works for our staff. It was just myself handling all things EN for the past year and now with additional staff we can focus on adding more clients to EN.

I have worked with Employee Navigator since 2017 as a Benefits Analyst setting up the software for enrollments and benefits management. This is a great system for administering benefits, setting up electronic data interface (EDI) with carriers (including 834 reports built by the user), managing ACA, PTO, and OnBoarding. Clients can also integrate their payroll vendors, Cobra and FSA Administrators with Navigator. Their help desk system is run very well and you typically have an answer back within 24 hours, or at least a follow-up if the issues is still being researched. It was an easy system for me to learn as well, but I did have experience with similar products prior to using this software.

Pros

Ease of use. Solutions for many types of insurance products. Knowledgeable staff. Help Center "Community" of users is a great resource for workarounds and other information.

Cons

There are some limitations with particular plan features (like any software). Some aspects of the reporting system are limiting as well. They do have suggestion section in their help center for software updates you wish to see.

Overall, It is a great system and easy to use. Most of the employees find it easy to get there information quickly and can be accessed from anywhere. It is also easy for New hires to log on and start their new hire forms

Pros

It is a great system to send the employees there benefits packages. They all fill out there yearly benefits and it comes automatically to HR. This eliminates stacks of papers. The employees can easily access there benefit guides throughout the year and check if there have been any changes. It has helped decrease the amount of HR emails and calls from employees with these questions. It is very easy to add or remove data on the employees end so they do not need to submit a ticket for a manager to do it.

Cons

No major cons. Again, I only use it for benefits and new hires. All payroll is used in a different system.

Pros

This integrates with my payroll processing software seamlessly. Employees choose their coverage, I receive a notification of this and can print out a report of what they chose, all deductions automatically populate into our payroll system. I do not need to do anything! This is a free service that is being paid for my our insurance broker

Cons

Setting up the integration can be difficult, but I have done it a few times now over the years and I kind of know what I am doing. The reporting feature is cumbersome and hard to use.

This has always been offered free by my insurance broker, cannot say no to a free product.

Pros

We use Employee Navigator because our benefits administrator (Alera Group) set it up. It interfaces easily with our payroll system (Paylocity). New employees are automatically enrolled in the system and receive an email to set up their benefits. Payroll data is automatically updated for income-driven benefits, such as disability insurance. During Open Enrollment, the new benefits enrollments are automatically sent to Paylocity, so the individual deductions are updated.

Cons

The website does not allow you to update the passwords directly. Instead, it requires a password reset email be sent. Many of our employees only access the site during Open Enrollment, and do not actively use their email accounts. This can often create a chain reaction of password reset emails. It would be helpful to have alternate ways to reset passwords, such as text confirmations.

Been wonderful and so helpful in streamlining the benefit deduction process. Previously I was hand entering each deduction for each employee every year and when changes occured and it's nice that it's so well integrated. We also receive it free through our insurance broker which is nice.

Pros

I love how seamlessly EN integrates with Paycor and all new employees are sent to EN and all elections are sent to the paygrid. It made open enrollment very easy last year.

Cons

It's always difficult to figure out how to resend a welcome email or access code to employees if they switched from inelgible to later eligible or if they lose the initial email.

Employee Navigator is the Microsoft for employee benefit management. There isn't a setup or situation that this software can't handle. Being one of the largest software solutions of this space, its already connect to tons of insurance companies. It feeds data instantly and stays up to date as data changes. Portals include, other vendors, broker, employer and employees. This makes it easy to keep good communications.

Pros

I love how this software is built for any situation. Crossing state lines, different pay rates, different classes, different plans offerings and on and on....

Cons

As a brand new user, you will feel overwhelmed creating you new groups. The new user training/tutorials could be a little better. Make the training more predominant to new users. Also, offer 24 hour coaching for those learning the system for the first time.
