Overall it is easy to work with Almabase. They are also open to suggestions and ideas to improve the product. They periodically check in with me to make sure I am doing well and getting out of the platform what I want. The platform looks very attractive and professional.

Pros

Almabase is easy to use once it is set up. The alumni directly is a useful feature. It is easy to update the profiles. Once the integration with Raiser's Edge is established and configured properly, it seamlessly updates data on the Raiser's Edge NXT profile.

Cons

Designing the website requires learning or having some comfort with the back-end of Wordpress, if you want a more custom appearance. I did not find this too difficult, but I did need some assistance from the almabase engineers for some aspects.

We really like Almabase. Working with their team is great and they are always quick to respond and help address any questions we have. As a small alumni office, having the Almabase support team helps us save time and we appreciate that they listen to our feedback.

Pros

We like that the Almabase platform is our website, directory, events platform, fundraising platform, and email service all in the same place. This make it very easy for us to track our alumni and their engagement. We really appreciate that alumni can go into their user profile and update their own information. Tracking emails and fundraising on the same platform helps as well. I do like how they are always looking to improve their platform and take our feedback seriously.

Cons

As with any platform there are things that can be improved. Right now you can track donations and emails receipts but it would be nice to have them eventually track who reads our posts and what pages they are interacting with. That would be a nice feature that would allow us to fully track users. It would also be nice if the platform supported ACH payments.

Overall, we've had a great experience with Almabase and look forward to continue growing our use of the product over time.

Pros

What I like most about Almabase is that the platform connects well with our main CRM software, Raiser's Edge, and also provides an easy frontward-facing user experience when registering for events. The personalized onboarding experience we had with our reps at Almabase was also immensely useful and we now have a very useful ongoing relationship with our rep who continues to be an active resource for us.

Cons

Onboarding and implementing any new software involves a learning curve and I would say there is a significant learning curve with this software. However, the onboarding process with Almabase made learning the software much easier than it would have been without personalized assistance and we've greatly appreciated this approach at the company. Once you learn how to fully use the software, it is an immensely helpful product to fully integrate into your operations.

Overall, this has met our needs regarding alumni connection and event management. We like the responsiveness of the customer support team, and the fact that they are constantly taking our recommendations and improving the platform. It's been a great platform for our alumni.

Pros

They offer a user-friendly interface (both externally and internally) combined with a lot of features. They are very responsive to our recommendations for improvement and when we need support.

Cons

The platform doesn't allow for as much flexibility as we'd like regarding class years - this is an issue for attendees and alumni with multiple degrees from Southern. And we do wish that the navigation was at the top of every single page. They are working to find ways to improve these areas.

My university is located in Texas. Almabase's trainers and support are based in India. Despite the distance, they have made us feel like one team. The step by step training (thank you, \[sensitive content hidden\] The support (too many to name), the overall experience has been great. We have beautiful giving pages and event registration pages that are capturing data beautifully.

Pros

We moved to Almabase on a recommendation (that their giving and event software is excellent at data capture and looks great), and while that has been true, the quality of the training and support has actually been what we love the most.

Cons

I have a small list of features I'd like to see, but honestly, even listing them would be a stretch. For everything we couldn't get there are five features that didn't exist, we mentioned, and then the team implemented them.

How much of an open line of communication there is. Almabase takes "criticism" extremely well. They use it to fuel their next big changes. Most companies would not actually take the time to research as often as Almabase does off their clients feedback.

Currently some of the giving aspects. Specifically split gift handling which limits how much we can currently utilize Almabase as we would want.

Pros

Almabase is a well-targeted alumni web product for both large and smaller institutions (like us). I find the staff eager to offer assistance, from migration, transitioning, to how best to use the platform, to inviting their users to suggest new features and improvements regularly.

Cons

Pricing. I wish that Almabase would consider doing scaled pricing for smaller organizations like ours.

Pros

My favorite thing about Almabase is the support team - their willingness to help in such a quick manner is admirable. I also enjoy the teams willingness to continually make updates to the platform.

Cons

The thing I like least about Almabase is the limitations in the design flexibility for giving and event pages. Although there are many different options for both giving and events pages, the design is limited.

If you have limited staff, Almabase can be a great option as an alumni engagement platform. It is relatively easy to navigate and connects seamlessly with Raisers Edge.

Cons

I was disappointed in the limited templates and that if you upgrade to the Word Press option, it only works on the main landing page and not the other pages.

Most features were easy to use, and offered everything I needed to keep in touch with and communicate with our broad international alumni base. The platform enabled us to create an online alumni network that was alumni of all ages could access and use according to need.

The back end admin features, whilst relatively easy in comparison to other platforms, still require a little practice before getting the hang of everything!

Overall, we have had a very good experience with Almabase. We found Almabase provided the features we were looking for at a much more reasonable price compared to other platforms. The social influencer piece has been really helpful in advertising and growing our donor base. The use of social media helps us cast a wider net and we have had year-over-year growth. We also like the integration with Blackbaud as the donor information flows into the donor record once we sync our systems. This was a really helpful attribute and produced a much cleaner tracking system for our database manager.

Pros

We really like the Almabase platform and have used it for three consecutive years. Our office is limited in size as we are a relatively small fundraising unit but the Almabase platform has given us a robust system for online fundraising within our community. We use the software primarily for an online giving day. This year, we generated nearly $700,000 with 650 gifts. The platform helped us show real-time totals, map gifts into our CRM system (Raiser's Edge/Blackbaud), acknowledge donors, and track progress. The system is easy for administrators to use and allows the user to upload photos, videos and customized text. The customer service with Almabase is outstanding. Our service representative answered our questions and provided on-going support throughout the campaign. There is also a tech team to assist with engineering and website issues. Overall, Almabase was the best value when we compared our needs with other platforms on the market. We primarily use the online fundraising function but we may consider add the alumni community tools in the future.

Cons

Although we are very happy with the Almabase software we wish there was a way to securely use Venmo during a campaign. This is likely a function of using BBMS as our payment processor and integrating the two systems. We also tried using Paypal but the functionality with BBMS was not there. Hopefully, that will be corrected in the future. We also had a few gifts that were missed even though the constituents were mapped ahead of time. This is an issue we are working through with Almabase. Finally, it is worth noting that at times, we were limited on the template and form customization options.

Almabase provided the best value for our needs compared to the other platforms we looked at.

Overall, the product delivers as advertised. Not every part of onboarding was smooth, but addressed promptly. Some of that is due to programming conflict from other products we use. Our team has been extremely satisfied with their customer service and the new opportunities we can realize with Almabase.

Pros

We love the way Almabase integrates all the programs to provide a complete engagement report on more than one area.

Cons

There are often pieces of the operation that weren't clear until after an issue was found or a realization that it doesn't quite react the way we had hoped, so a customization must be built. I will say though, they are extremely receptive to product improvement.

We were in need of an online directory and Almabase has provided that and so much more. The current rollout of our alumni business directory is something that will add even more value for our alumni base. Also, the ability for our group contact lists to be updated in real time has been so important when communicating to our segmented alumni groups and not needing to create new contact lists.

Pros

From the very beginning, Almabase and their team have been very supportive and focused on the success of our alumni program. The setup and rollout was quick and seamless and the various tweaks and adjustments that we have requested over the years have been met with openness and a "can do" attitude. The Almabase platform has made my job so much easier whether it's managing events or sending out segmented communications to a wide range of alumni groups. Keep up the great work Almabase!

Cons

Very little to complain about. Customization of the actual platform is somewhat limited but when I have reached out and requested certain changes, the Almabase team has been very accommodating and met my requests.

\- The platform was up and running quickly. - The customer service team is extremely responsive and does their best to accommodate our needs. They are also very open to receiving feedback and considering suggestions to improve the software. - They often roll out new features and upgrades. - It's quick and easy to create new webpages and add content. - The software is affordable. - Integration of e-communication center to send automated emails.

Cons

\- Some bugs were discovered in the early stages that the support team resolved promptly. - Limited templates to choose from and cannot incorporate different features from different templates into one to suit your needs/preferences. - I've been slightly disappointed by the lack of customization on the platform. It's become evident that the platform would be a great tool for an academic institution's alumni organization, but if it's anything else, it may not be the best suited. Our situation is unique in that we are not a school looking to connect with our alumni, but rather a foundation connecting with past and current grantees. Some features cannot be customized to reflect that, including the wording on some pages or email templates that one would think would be easy to change. I was reassured at the beginning through the answers to my questions and testing out another organization's beta site that our needs would be met. However, it was only after our site was fully up and running that I got a chance to fully explore and see where additional customizations would be required. Overall, the web platform meets our basic needs, but if there was a greater ability to customize it, even a little bit, it would take it to the next level. If you're not coming from an academic institution, I would highly recommend asking a wide variety of questions to ensure it will meet all your needs.

\_Ongoing support\_ Once our organization decided to partner with Almabase, we were transitioned to an operations team to ensure that our alumni data and site features were in order and functioned as we desired. The operations team adjusted to our needs and became much more attentive as our needs required. Currently, it seems like our admin team has continuous access to the Almabase support team. They are friendly, professional, and always strive to communicate clearly, even with feature requests that are not part of the platform. One benefit that showed how willing our Almabase support team goes above and beyond as a partner is how they initiated a regular quarterly review of the platform and features after we launched. They demonstrated how ongoing support is part of the fabric of their company. \_Features\_ The main reason behind choosing Almabase as an alumni relations partner was how they come alongside our efforts to keep our alumni information current. Our alumni benefit because they can easily stay updated on what’s happening with their alma mater and effortlessly network with one another. Our current students benefit because they can begin networking for future placement opportunities. Our staff benefit because this active directory, updated by each alumnus, enhances all our communications about news, events, placement efforts, and services.

Pros

The map search feature is a big hit with our alumni. We also enjoy the event management module and the ability to have multiple communication touchpoints with attendees before, during and after the event. In terms of building emails, the drag and drop feature makes it easy for anyone who doesn't have design or HTML experience.

Cons

When building directories, it would be great to be able to re-arrange/reorder/sort entries after the fact, as opposed to having to enter info in specific orders, i.e. alphabetical, etc.

Pros

Our reviews were awesome from everyone that used it, almost a 9.6 out of 10. With over 50,000 constituents, that is an amazing feat! Almabase is always willing to help with what they can, including daily workshops and if one person can't answer your question, they will find someone who can!

Cons

You definitely want some good man power while handling Almabase, depending on how many constituents you will have. There are awesome features that make things way easier, as they have been updating the site, but make sure you can handle the people you will be inviting.

Overall, Almabase has been a great partner as we begin our endeavor in Alumni Relations. Because of Almabase we have been very successful in our first 8 months. They are constantly giving us strategies to improve and offering assistance. We just had an in-person visit from them that will help us immensely as we enter the second phase of our program. I truly feel they have a personal interest in your success.

At first, I was not fully bought into this company and software. However, after the first month, I realize that they truly care about your success. My main pros are: - Ease of setup - Creative solutions to problems - Partner with you to create a plan for your success - Great price - Always improving - Great communication center - Fast response

Cons

\- Some bugs with the software when doing more advanced features. However, they fixed them very quickly.

### "Outstanding alumni database and giving day products"

Great customer service. Took a real interest in our needs. A rep visited with us for several days to see our operations in action and gain a better understanding of our needs.

Pros

The Almabase team provides outstanding customer services. Alumni database features are similar to products provided by other vendors, but we particularly like Almabase's communication/email features. Almabase created a day of giving website for us that amplified the results of our day of giving. Over 1000 donors gave close to $250,000 in a 24 hour period. The site handled the giving volume without delay or error and provided instantaneous updates.

Cons

No major concerns, some features we would like to see enhanced - for example, adding the capability to have notices scroll automatically on the site.
