I am enjoying using alma in many ways . Assessment and grading . Writing student report and also attendance .

Pros

Assignments and grading and reporting also the part of attendance it is organized well .. and it is easy to hop in different classes without any problem

Cons

Sometimes if you forget to save . The documents disappear so i will start to rewrite what i had written before.

Overall, switching over to ALMA SIS was the best thing that we did at our school. We moved previously from PowerSchool to TeacherEase and then to ALMA, which has far exceeded our expectations in an SIS system. It is incredibly easy to use, manage, and keep up with. Customer service is one of the best I have ever experienced, and overall our staff and families love the change. Personally, the connection with our State reporting system and how easy it made it was the winning factor for me.

Pros

We love ALMA SIS at our school both for its easy connection for state reporting as well as how easy it is to use and train others on. Admin and teachers can easily manage their case loads and access important information. Customer support is easy and convenient on the homepage at all times, and someone is always incredibly prompt in returning messages. Those of us in the office love the ability to securely manage the kids information easily in the system and navigate details we have not had the ability to in previous SIS program.

Cons

It was a bit of an adjustment not having a way to "call" parents with alerts, but our families have been able to get used to text and emails only. However, if phone calls became available in the future we would love it.

Overall, as a nurse, I have had a very good experience using Alma. It is very user friendly and easy to navigate. I like that you can hover over a student's picture to enlarge it. This is helpful when I am learning the names of new student to the school that i work at.

Pros

The feature that I like most about Alma is the ability to flag students with medical issues. By creating a critical health alert, teachers and other school staff are easily made aware of certain high risk students. Also, I like that the school nurse is able to upload individualized health care plans to Alma, making it simple to pass along pertinent health information for those who need to know this.

Cons

One thing that could be considered a con is the speed of program. Sometimes, it takes longer than others (when trying to access student health information).

Alma has changed the way we operate in the best of ways. We finally feel like we have accurate, easy to access data!

Pros

The Alma SIS is intuitive for faculty and families. The interface is easy to love and the information is in a very predictable format that makes it easy to find quickly. When technology goes awry, like it always does, Alma's customer support is top-notch. They have been phenomenal at helping us navigate issues on the admin and family side and working through to a solution. We are incredibly pleased with the product and feel that we are getting a great value for our investment.

Cons

Honestly, there are very few things we do not like about Alma and the issues we have come across have been very easy to navigate and are often things that we didn't realize we could do!

Pros

Alma has been a strong addition to our school’s operations. What stands out most is how easily it adapts to the needs of our school. The system is genuinely tailorable, which allowed us to set things up in a way that supported our workflows instead of forcing us to change them. It’s also incredibly easy to use. You don’t need a technical background to jump in and get started—teachers and staff were able to navigate the platform with confidence after just a short introduction. That alone made the transition smooth and far less stressful than other systems we’ve worked with in the past. A few features stood out for us. The attendance tools were a big help, giving us clear, organized data without extra steps. The communication features also made a noticeable difference by keeping staff and families connected in a simple, reliable way. Overall, Alma has helped us stay organized and focused on students instead of wrestling with technology. I’d recommend Alma to any school looking for a flexible, user-friendly system that just works.

Cons

The only thing I would say I least liked was that it was not compariable to the system that was use for reporting to our district office.

We have had a very positive experience using the Alma SIS. As a small school, we needed an SIS that was powerful yet flexible enough to meet our unique needs, which Alma delivered on. The platform was easy to use yet customizable, allowing us to adapt everything from grading scales to report templates without requiring any technical expertise. What impressed our staff most was how easy to use the system is. Teachers and administrators alike were able to jump right in and begin using Alma confidently from day one. The interface feels intuitive, and the customer support team has been consistently responsive and helpful whenever questions arise. We’ve especially appreciated features like customizable progress reports, attendance tracking, and the seamless communication tools between teachers and families. These have made day-to-day operations smoother and have helped us keep the entire school community on the same page. Overall, Alma has made managing our school data simpler, more transparent, and far more efficient. I’d highly recommend it to any school looking for an SIS.

Pros

Accessibility, relative ease to setup, number of features, especially for price, email and messaging system was fantastic.

Cons

Customer service response time could be hit or miss, other than that the pros definitely outweighed any cons.

Good transition overall. Much smoother and easier to navigate than the previous SIS our school used.

Pros

It is easy to navigate Alma as a teacher to find information. I like the ability to send out messages to families.

Cons

I wish that the attendance section included students leaving early in the count of absent/tardy. It would be nice if the messages could be sent as a text and email and not require 2 separate messages to be sent.

Using Alma SIS as an SLP has made my work so much more efficient and organized. I love how accessible and user-friendly the platform is—it gives me quick access to the student data I need, from attendance and grades to IEP documentation. It helps me stay connected with teachers and staff, making it easier to support students effectively across settings. Alma really streamlines communication and keeps everything in one place, which saves time and improves collaboration.

Pros

It is live up to date information about students. As an SLP I'm able to see attendance, student contact information, student pictures for use of visual schedules. I love that it is easy to use.

Cons

One challenge I’ve encountered with Alma SIS as a service provider is the inability to create my own classrooms or groups. As an SLP, I work with students across multiple grade levels and classrooms, so having my caseload organized in one central place would significantly improve efficiency. Currently, I have to search for each student individually, which takes extra time and makes it harder to manage documentation and track progress. If Alma allowed service providers to create and manage their own student groups or "classes," it would streamline workflows and better support the unique roles of specialists in schools.

Alma is a wonderful platform that allows teacher to have easy access to everything in one platform. It saves time overall for teachers and I appreciate it.

Pros

Alma makes stream lining all things school so easy both as a teacher and a parent. It easily allows me to sync my grades, track attendance, and check where my students are each day.

Cons

Alma does take a little while to get used to and there are some features like special education alerts for teachers that could make it better.

My overall experience with Alma SIS has been excellent. The platform gives me immediate access to student information and progress in every subject, making organization much easier. It also strengthens communication with parents and allows students to connect with their classes and teachers quickly and securely. Alma provides a user-friendly interface, reliable performance, and tools that save valuable time for both teachers and administrators. It has streamlined many of our daily processes and created a stronger connection between school and families. Overall, Alma has become an essential resource that truly supports our educational mission.

Pros

What I like most about Alma SIS is that it really helps me stay organized with grading and makes daily communication with parents much easier. The customer support is responsive and helpful; they are quick to address questions and provide guidance when needed.

Cons

Our main challenge with Alma SIS is managing costs in a non-dollar economy as a nonprofit. Still, the platform’s organization and communication benefits make it a worthwhile investment despite the financial difficulty.
