Still, we are pretty impressed. It is a comprehensive and solid application that integrates well without many issues you would experience, even with the big players. Many of its features work out of the box by simply adding your keys and configuration. If things continue the way we currently experienced our onboarding and work, we look forward to seeing how fruitful it can be. Pros We just started working with the application, but what attracted us was that it is very feature-rich, especially on the development side. The API, Zapier, and Webhook integration, plus the ability to customize, are important. In addition, it seems to have completed much of the heavy lifting, so you can focus on customization over development, which is a definite plus. It has the majority of important functionality integrated, which allowed us to choose it over using some of the other applications in which we had to invest more development time and effort. Cons We are still exploring and haven't found many negative points yet. Besides the development aspect, there is not much documentation around the scripting capabilities that allow us to use some of the classes or pull from the system, but it could be that we don't know where it lives yet. Video capabilities could improve, but this may be on the roadmap, and the application does quite a few things well. We are a development agency, so we are very familiar with many applications in the industry. Many of the features and functionality are familiar, so moving around is not an issue, unlike someone who may not have that experience. But at the moment, we haven't found too many bad points worth outlining, and we want to resolve them first before putting them under the application limitation. Pros It's a full potential platform, not only for creating directories but also courses, community, blog and landing pages. I like the ability to customize, LEGO like which enables you to create anything in the context that this platform allows. I see also in a way that can be scalable starting with digital products then a blog then, community and directory. I like the documentation that allow you to find anything you want to create along a with a five star team that is always ready to help. This also give me trust that in the future this platforma will be even better because the team is actively trying to make this a better and better tool. Cons I guess is the learning curve, and I'm still managing to navigate on it to create a simple community and a blog, but this is nothing to do with BD but to the learning that must be done by me and that is innerent any platform of this kind. Some are easier I admit then others BD is so far a average learning curve. Although I'm seeing that once you start mastering the principles the rest is transversal to the all platform. Owner Used the software for: ### "Overall Good but Functionally Lacking" June 25, 2015 3.0 I rated overall low because after a year and a half we still don't have full functionality. Our issue is with the built in Payment gateway. Though my present state of our directory I should have realized would be an issue because when I bought the directory Dennis had to invoice me through "PayPal" as the payment gateway would not process any of my cards, not once but twice. When we first bought it was monthly, then I bought the life time and each time my payment would not process through the directory payment gateway. Only though PayPal was I able to make payment. I had a number of potential members complain about the same. We had to stop taking membership. I brought this issue up to BD and they said they were looking into it. Then in December 2014 they announced integration of WHMCS into the directory. Here it is June 25th, 2015 still no WHMCS integration. I joined or bought BD in December 2013. I have thousands of dollars invested and cannot count the number of man hours invested. Only to be held up by the inability to take PayPal payments for membership. Customer service keeps telling me they are working on it and will notify me when implemented. In all fairness I believe BD has great potential but functionally can be lacking because, I believe, they have made it to good, if there is such a thing. Given we cannot get into the back end it is hard to evaluate, my IT person said WHMCS integration shouldn't be that complicated given all the other functions within the directory itself. He said setting up a PayPal gateway shouldn't be that complicated but because we are limited to access to the back end of the directory our hands are tied. I have said this before. Looking good and being good is two different things! This customer has had about enough of being told it's coming. Six months now! From the BD bot in the site, to the FB community, to the support ticket staff. The staff are always so polite, positive, thorough, and complete in their response and remedy of support tickets. They make sure that your answers get resolved. I have not ever had this high level of support before from any other business and I have worked online with many online businesses (software/website developers) since 2008. The founder really cares about this success and functions of his directory with his buyers/customers- he is 100% active answering questions and always looking for ways to expand and improve with the needs of his customers. \[sensitive content hidden\] is always present and very hands on in helping his customers! " August 6, 2024 5.0 I have tried other directories, from the best sellers to others that are very simple and low payment. However, I have also had problems with them and mainly with translation. Every time the loco translate plugin was updated, it would misconfigure everything, or with the theme itself when it was updated, it would get something unconfigured. Mainly in the part where customers showed their information, which is in Spanish. And that was very frequent. And the creator of that directory preferred sales to having translation into another language natively. And this was a real headache: to stop paying attention to other things to correct this. To begin with, that's why I switched to Brilliant directories, because it already has the Spanish language by default. And now that I have your attention, let me tell you how good and how bad Brilliant directories has been for me and why FOR ME, IT WAS A HEADACHE NOT TO HAVE USED IT BEFORE: The Good: You save a lot of effort.
