I'm more familiar with using it to refer individuals to various job posted at my company and then tracking them to see whether or not they were interviewed and/or offered the role. Pros The UX/UI makes it very easy to get what I need to do done in a short amount of time. I really appreciate that I oftentimes can do everything on my homepage versus having to click through various parts of the aplication like other software, to get things done. All software should have a user experience that's as easy as Greenhouse's is. Cons For my use cases which include onboarding at work and talent acquisition for the company, I don't believe there's anything that I don't actually like about Greenhouse. Pros I absolutely love that I can upload candidates from LinkedIn straight into my greenhouse candidate pool. It's never been so easy to source for candidates while making sure you pull all of their available information to use down the road. Cons Sometimes when I'm uploading candidates from LinkedIn and have multiple offices that I in my network, I'm unable to always add them to the right office. Some offices wont populate when I need them to. So then after I've converted them from a prospect to a candidate I'm un able to undo that action and can sometimes end up with multiple profiles for the same candidate. Pros Easy to use and onboard new users onto. The easy of directing new users to add applicants and referrals makes the process easy and less burdensome. Also, the ability to track recruits, automatically add collaborative code environments to interviews, and remind interviewers to write reviews makes the process easier. Cons The lack of the ability to customize the review report is frustrating at times. As a user that has to fill out a lot of reviews, the report could be made much more dynamically editable to allow reporting formats to change based on inputs. Greenhouse support chat is always so useful, and very quick with responses. Our account representative is not very responsive. I know he is very busy with many clients, but I'd appreciate a response quicker than a week and a half. Pros The thing I like most about Greenhouse is how in depth it goes with the applicant tracking process, we recently found out about the candidate pipeline report/email, which is something we've been doing manually for years, and knowing that this exists will help us tremendously. Things like the candidate pipeline email that make our manual processes easier are awesome. Cons The thing I like the least about Greenhouse is how feedback on little things is not taken, and it takes a very long time for anything to be implemented or changed. I've found two bugs last week that were big errors for our process, and its very inconvenient. It is also used to generate overall success rate for interviewing and hiring effectively. Pros I like that it gives you the ability to assign different people to different tasks. I also like that you are able to mass upload resumes and mass reply to multiple candidates on a specific job. Cons The inability to search for similar candidates through resume match. There are also too many steps to post a single job and navigating through the different settings to post and update a job can be arduous and not user friendly at times. You can create the job descriptions right in Greenhouse, create a hiring team with different levels of responsibility and access, post the job and have it live to multiple sites with a click of a button. You can even customize where you place your ads. You can even customize job questions to help filter candidates! Cons The job questions weren't searchable which would have been nice in order to field out location. Cons The mobile application could be improved, especially with the ability to review applications without having to download a resume in a separate field before making a decision. We have also had a high level of engagement across our Hiring Managers and Interviewers due to the intuitive nature of the software and excellent UX. We were able to roll out the system with very little training as the system is so easy to use. Pros I most like the highly customisable workflows and templates that can be used as well as the level of automation that can be embedded has significantly reduced our manual administration and management of the recruit to keep the recruitment process on track. Friendly reminders keep you on track with your schedule and also drives productivity across the team . Cons Initially it took me a while to get used to the "Self-Service" model of support (given I had not used the system before however the video instructions and tutorials have been very useful and easy to digest. Pros It's serviceable in terms of tracking candidates, creating interview processes, and scheduling. I was among the first to use Greenhouse. I introduced it to several companies as well. Every company must have an ATS and Greenhouse was the best available for each company at the time. It scales well as the recruiting team grows and within the organization as that continues to grow. Overall I think it's a good product. Cons I never felt like the user feedback was incorporated in new feature introductions or upgrades to existing features. That was frustrating when a great degree of feedback was solicited on the phone, in person, and via email. It felt like their designers were designing just to keep busy and somewhat in a vacuum. Why change the colors when you could be making the UI/UX easier to navigate. I found myself creating workarounds for much of it for efficiencies sake regardless of the maturity of the product. I found team members all over the place despite being trained in terms of the way they preferred to use it. This is not good for a team and being a lead I was tasked with going through everything, fixing lazy messes but also knowing who was using it as intended. Review Source HR Hannah R. Pros Great product! Very intuitive and user-friendly. The implementation team was excellent with helping us set up the product in a way that would be most useful to us. The ease of use is incredible- makes my job easier! Cons Some issues with the Zoom integration when first rolled out and the customer service team dropped the ball on this one. Pros The ability to pull reports and share in an easily viewable mode with hiring managers and executives is excellent. Also, it makes candidate maangement incrediblly simple and automated. The customer support is there to answer any of your questions at all times and are very quick in their service and providing solutions. Amazing reporting features! Cons Sometimes the word documents uploaded or the job description fonts do not copy properly. You have to correct the font sizing to make it uniform. Pros Out of all the applicant tracking systems I have used, I have to say that Greenhouse is my favorite. It is very user friendly, aesthetically pleasing, and makes it easy to track my candidates. I also really like the reporting features available on my jobs. Cons I wish searching for candidates in Greenhouse was a little easier, I usually can only search by name rather than by phone or email. It keeps the Recruiting, Finance and HR team(s) on the same page and helps us hire quickly and efficiently. Cons Reporting. There are still several areas for improvement within metrics and reporting. The scheduling tool has gotten better but I think other ATS' do a little better here. The one time I noticed a bug, the support team was extremely helpful and it was resolved within an hour of me noticing. They even sent me an email to let me know once it was resolved. Otherwise, it is super streamlined and easy to understand- I think anyone could come in and understand how to use it without in depth training. Pros Ease of use, very intuitive. You can also run reports to analyze data through it to figure out hiring trends and come up with better plans. Cons No cons that I can think of- sometime it does not sync perfectly to other apps, but its hard to say if that is a Greenhouse issue or an issue with the other apps. After discussing questions on chat I often make suggestions for future features to add to the product roadmap - the amazing part is seeing my suggestions come to life! Being a Greenhouse user for the past two years I have seen many of my ideas added and my Account Manager always adds a personal touch by letting me know when my ideas will go live. Cons Being in Ops and an Admin I always wish for more flexibility and customized options for users' permissions and reporting. With very little training, my team went from recruiting via email to adopting and embracing the system within months. Scorecards help to inform our executives about hiring decisions, and the reporting gives my team real metrics to back-up or improve our processes. Cons All of my cons are likely future feature roadmap items. For instance, I would like to repost a job (on job boards) without having to create a new job ID (by duplicating the role). I would love to have an kanban board view when looking at an open role. Pros Simple use, fairly intuitive process, ability to capture all candidate info in on place, high level reporting, Cons Customized reporting is a challenge, the "off the shelf" reports are too elementary, uncertain how large the platform can scale Reason for choosing Greenhouse We will continue to choose Greenhouse over Workday for simplicity of use. Lead Data Scientist E-Learning Used the software for: 2+ years ### "A feature monster that does everything, if you can find it" September 4, 2018 4.0 Pros GH covers all aspects of the hiring process I consider relevant as a hiring manager (I can't rate the tool from an HR perspective). It's really very very complete. Some parts of GH are very efficient, for example the CV screening UI and the process of sending rejections, which can be scheduled. Collaboration between HR, hiring manager and different interviewers is generally well done. Cons The downside to GH is the generally chaotic UI. As someone who uses GH every few months rather than daily, which is probably typical for hiring managers, I find myself hunting for pieces of information (basic candidate information, take home test submission, etc.) and not finding them where I expect them. Also, sometimes CVs and other external information won't load immediately. Review Source DV David V. Cons The search function still doesn't work well with phone numbers which is a huge minus when you miss a candidate call. The metrics and stats tracking could be improved significantly. July 6, 2021 5.0 When I first started at my job, a recruiter told me that Greenhouse isn't very intuitive and it's difficult to learn - boy, were they wrong! It was SO easy to learn and navigate. I love the updates they keep rolling out and how they help you learn the changes. Pros I like that it integrates with my email so any action I take or reminders I need to set can be sent directly to my email. It helps keep me organized. I also love the dashboard and how you can customize it so easily! The new scheduling tool makes everyday cake for me. Cons I wish the templates could allow for more rich text (highlighting, adding colored text, etc) but it's still helpful to automatically bold, italicize, and underline. I liked that enables collaboration within the hiring teams, Google Spreadsheets reporting feature, scorecards customizable for all positions, automatic integration with Glassdoor, Indeed and LinkedIn jobs, customizable interview and offer templates, approval process, integrations (BambooHR, Join, Small Improvements, G Suite). Cons Reporting is not customized, basic careers page could be much better looking, I would wish teams could adjust the view (list of candidates or Kanban board view), tagging and CRM feature could be more recruiting team not individual focused (fee applies with every new CRM feature user), reporting could be more visual.
