April 14, 2026 3.0 Overall, my experience with Greenhouse has been okay. There are opportunities to improve performance to better meet our expectations in terms of personalization and reporting capability. Pros Greenhouse is relatively quick to respond when I need a quick question answered in their support chat. They are super friendly, and even if I don't get the answer I'm hoping for, I'm able to solve for that quickly and move on to a different solution. Cons Greenhouse seems to be slightly stuck in the past. I think they offer too much-- more than they are capable of supporting well. So, they try to be innovative and forward-thinking, but most of their basic functions, like reporting, are unintuitive and ancient. As someone who applied for a higher position internally and used the Greenhouse hiring system myself I found it so easy to navigate and keep track of my application after applying. Pros Easy to use interface for both the applicant and the hiring team. The portal is user friendly and clear on how to access. I would consider it an incredibly valuable software. Cons The inability to add basic application questions as needed. We have a lot of use with specific questions from candiates and it would be easiest to add them ourselves versus having to do a workaround. Cons Our team specifically desires more automation features and wishes the existing automation features were more customizable. This has gotten better with time! I would like to see the legacy view returned, and to be able to automate things that I can do on other platforms. Pros I like the legacy view, which is clean, and simple to use. I rated it a 5 because Greenhouse is forcing the new view which is not user friendly and everyone is struggling with it. Cons I have used many ATS' and Greenhouse is not one of my favorites. The questions and answers that you can pre-populate are shown in block formation which can be difficult for someone like me, with ADD to read. Cons Changes and personalization's are not always intuitive. Sometimes you really need to hunt and the template process is TIME CONSUMING. Finding the things you need to change can be difficult if you did not set everything up and are not a super user. Although it sometimes has deficiencies in terms of aesthetics, for the company's needs it is more than ok. In order for this to work correctly, the Recruitment team needs constant training. Pros is a very complex ATS, with many options and integration possibilities Cons The most disappointing thing was their way of negotiating contracts. After a 2-year contract, instead of building our loyalty, they bombarded us with an astronomical price offer. In the end, we managed to reach a conclusion, but the people we were in contact with seemed to have no interest in keeping us at the beginning. Have had a lot of growing pains throughout the years but it has come a long way since I first starting using it. I look forward to it's continued growth. Pros I think it's easy to learn and user friendly. You have quick access to customer support and account representatives are usually helpful. Although since we got our new one, we haven't heard from them very much. Our old account rep, \[sensitive content hidden\], was amazing. They do try and keep up with the trends by coming out with new features throughout the year and informing us of the new features over email. The new features has helped with process automation to some degree. Overall, it is a great value for your money. Cons I do think it sometimes tend to behind the trend on the features. It would b e nice if it was more seamlessly integrated with Zoom so that it could generate zoom links and be shared that way. Pros Very rarely any outages, maybe once in the last 3 years that I've been using it. I like being able to email candidates, schedule interviews, post jobs, etc. all from one main source of truth. Cons It can be disjointed and not very logical at times. For example, the new notes section that highlights if there is a duplicate profile or general warning note about a candidate is hidden in a tab on the bottom right now, vs. automatically showing it when you open a candidate's profile.
