This is our organization's first foray into a learning management system, and I think it has been received well. Pros I like the integration with BambooHR & the TalentLibrary. Overall, easy to customize UI. We were able to brand the portal with our company colors, logos, and course certificates. We were able to create new courses and upload trainings. It is a fairly flexible platform. Cons The system is quite technical for reviewing information and making courses. It also can be a tad challenging to create reports that meet the exact needs I have. For example, when I see course completions each week, I am interested in seeing what courses were completed and by whom, but it is a bit deep to get to that information. Similar with the gamification elements. I think the notification delay of about 2 hours when I enroll someone in a course is also a bit odd, why not make it instant? Cons Inputting written data direclty into the system can sometimes be laboured. The system can sometimes have odd layout issues - also there is no spell-check when providing leaner feedback. It is extremely easy to create courses, to customize content, drag and drop different types of media, set tests and quizzes in few clicks, host live lessons or sessions, and much more appealing features in one place. Yet, the best thing ever is that you can downgrade your version if unsatisfied; an option not found in other rival platforms. Cons Though full of options, it is still difficult for instructors to use mass actions, particularly when assigning files or tasks. I still find it expensive too compared to certain others in LMS industry. It is by far the most affordable training solution that we could identify, and with TalentLibrary, it is the most robust training solution available for our use-case. Pros TalentLMS' base-level of functionality, accessibility, and ease of use for administrators, instructors, and learners alike is its defining feature. As the primary administrator and course creator for my organization, I was able to quickly learn the software's limits and work within them to create an effective training curriculum for a youth audience. Once deployed, that youth audience was able to navigate TalentLMS and complete their courses with minimal issues or bugs. All this was possible with an LMS that came far below the price-point of all other LMS' we considered. Cons There is nothing I strongly dislike in my experience using TalentLMS. Every question was answered promptly with care and knowledge. Working in TalentLMS is a dream experience in that there are so many online learning resources available. It is so easy and quick to get up and running with it – most intuitive LMS I’ve come across so far. If the answer isn’t online, then a quick email to my customer representative returns a very quick response, and if it is a technical question in nature, it is forwarded to the TalentLMS Technical Support team ASAP for a speedy turnaround time. In my opinion, we couldn’t possibly be happier with any alternative LMS. Pros If I had to select three main reasons why I recommend TalentLMS, they would be: 1) exemplary customer service, 2) intuitive and fun application to work in, which integrated seamlessly with our existing business processes 3) abundance of online resources to leverage from. Cons If I had to select three areas that are not my favourite, I would select 1) it would be so much more beneficial to my creative side if I learned more HTML (you don’t need it, as it has a great editor, but I like to add a little extra sometimes than the editor offers – so I dive into the source code and keep my finger’s crossed :) – but at least I can do that! 2) sometimes there seems to be a minor delay in the group enrollment processes and I cheat and click a convenient button to hurry it along if I need to 3) we have implemented single sign-on and when I want to test a learner’s view rather then my super admin view, I have to log out of all my SSO systems before I can simulate the learner to see their view, so if I could come up with an easier way to be a test user, that might be nice (maybe more experimenting with cache clearing and browser incognito mode might help). Reason for choosing TalentLMS I did investigate this option, however, they had changed hands and I didn't warm up to their approach.
