May 23, 2018 5.0 Access to real-time data and tracking and the ability for users to provide additional information by using descriptive fields. Pros It can be used anywhere. We have construction crews in the field and it's great that they can use it wherever they are and we can have real-time data without having to wait for the end of the week for paper timecards. It takes a lot of the burden off of our foremen and frees them up for more important work. Plus, their customer service is outstanding! Cons Limited reporting features. Pros It wasn't until we tried to switch away from busybusy when we implemented a new job costing software, that I realized how streamlined and efficient Busybusy is. We switched back immediately! The sync to quickbooks, ease of use, and flexibility to changes are what I like most. Cons The only con I see is not being able to assign different pay rates per project (like prevailing wage projects). Accessibility through phone and computer. Being able to view time cards and current hours in pay period. Checking and signing time cards makes it easier to be paid on time. Pros busybusy offers an app that has a simple design and easy to use interface. It also offers a website that has a simple but more in depth view if needed. The layout for the clocking system is cool and I like how it tracks your time. Viewing old time cards is a positive thing for me also. Cons The app and website have been unreliable at times to save punches, which makes it where employees have to remembers their times instead of what the app is suppose to be doing, which is tracking those punches. It wastes time for the administration staff to have to go back into time cards and fix multiple punches between multiple employees. I'm not hunting down technicians anymore to ask them if they took a break, it's right there at my fingertips when I'm ready to process payroll :) Cons Very rarely, but its happened a couple of times, I've been logged out of my app on my phone. Pros It's easy to use for our guys and that's the most important thing for being in the field. It's fast and reliable. Cons The app doesn't allow our office personnel to see the amounts to be paid in the time cards. We need the ability to see our cost per job and per employee in the field. Bookkeeper Construction Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Combination of benefits for General Contractors and the like -" August 23, 2022 5.0 I was very hesitant to try Busy Busy (or any sort of time tracking for that matter). It was actually at the request of my husband. I really drug my feet. However, while setting it up and working on the integration part of the set up I could not believe how helpful, accessible and knowledgeable the employees were. What could have been a real pain in the you know what actually turned out to be super smooth and easy. And now I get the bonus of quick payrolls and any sort of employee/job reporting I want in a matter of minutes. I'm a huge fan! Pros The most beneficial being able to do payroll on payday as soon as your employees clock out. I can have payroll done before they even arrive to the office for their paycheck. I can then run a job/time report in QB and bill our customers for the hours, down to the minute, with descriptions of what the employee has done. At the end of the quarter I run a similar report monthly and quarterly which helps me to calculate taxes. There are so many ways to use the imported information. It has saved us so much time and our customers love the detail! Cons I WISH I could figure out how to get the "Description" information (in "Job Details") to transfer over to QB. It would give our customers just that much more information on exactly what our employees are doing. May 22, 2018 4.0 Pros BusyBusy was easy to deploy and is straightforward and easy to use. One thing some of our employees did find confusing was the multiple versions of BusyBusy available on the Google Play Store. All in all, it does a good job tracking time and syncing with our payroll backend (Quickbooks Enterprise). The ability to specify budget hours and dollars helps our managers and executives gain a clearer picture of overall job health from a labor standpoint, strictly in terms of expenditures. Perhaps in the future, the ability to implement deadlines and rudimentary project scheduling along with labor budgeting would provide a clearer picture of overall job health from both a labor and scheduling perspective -- something that every manager sorely needs. Additionally, we love the reminders and geofencing capability (though it has its kinks), and location stamping all clocking activity is a verifiable way for accounting to determine the location of employees when they clock in/out (i.e., they're where they're supposed to be, not at the local dive bar). Cons There are some features that I have suggested to the development team there, and there are some cumbersome aspects regarding the use of the App. 1) Switching tasks frequently is cumbersome. Our management in particular likes to track time on a very granular level, against a large amount of subprojects. Replacing the map on the "Switch Task" screen with an icon-based favorites list (8 items) and recent history (4 items) to allow for 2-tap task switching would save time for everyone and decrease the possibility of an incorrectlyh selected task from the existing drop downs. 2) The reporting functions are very rudimentary. In my experience, they are either too general or too granular. Its hard to determine how many hours were worked against specific subprojects, who worked them, and on what days. However, every company has different reporting needs, and thusly the ability to export all time entires for a specific project (or subproject) as a CSV would prove extremely useful for meeting custom reporting needs (currently I export time card reports and filter via Pivot Table in Excel). 3) Reorganizing ongoing projects would also be handy. We have a scenario where multiple foremen have setup multiple subprojects for the same punchlist items and have instructed their crews to clock against their created subprojects, respectively. This creates some headache when trying to aggregate all the data to determine how many hours were spent against a specific item. Cons There are a few things that we don't use as much as we thought we would . Such as Scheduling. We use the geolocation and GPS to remind employees to clock in and out; which in turn, makes for more accurate time cards. I admit we don't use all features and functions because upon initial signup we had specific needs and didn't look at the other functions. Another major plus is the scheduling feature, our Project Managers are now able to update our crew on the fly and direct them to their next worksites. Pros The software is very easy to use and the mobile app makes it simple for our employees to keep track of their time. The Scheduling feature has also become a integral part of our daily/weekly planning for our project managers Cons Right now the only thing we would like to see would be a feature that tracks small equipment, something like the Milwaukee Tag system that uses Bluetooth and QR codes to map where small equipment is being used. I like that you can create reports and upload photos directly to the reports. I like the ability of supervisors to assist the workers in clocking in/out and switching between jobs throughout the day just in case they forget. I like that the mobile progress reporting platform allows you to make line breaks without making entirely new notes. Cons It can sometimes take a long time to load notes and daily progress reports on the mobile platform resulting in wasted time, and sometimes my phone will even time out and lock itself while waiting for the reports to load. I'd like to see faster load times, but perhaps if you could add an option to keep the phone awake like some other apps do I could at least stop having to tap the screen every 15 seconds or so to keep it from locking. Staff will find that it accessible and easy to use to keep time on track. It will also cut back on anxiety when staff may not be able to clock in and out on computer bound software. Its a win either way. Try it, you won't be disappointed. Pros What I like most about Busy Busy is that it is easy to use and accessible on my mobile device. The app software was no as "busy" as most so the user does not get caught up trying to figure our its proper use. Kudos for making this a user friendly app. Cons What could have been improved is the ability to communicate with support expeditiously when there is an issue. Also, sometimes I had to revise my weekly invoice manually. No worries, it still one of the best time tracking apps out there. Text reminders to punch out when leaving a jobsite would be enhanced with text reminders to sign your timecard at the end of a given pay period. I personally have had zero issues when it comes to the navigation and reporting while using the application. My experience with their customer service is outstanding and they will do whatever it takes to resolve the issue immediately. The overall navigation is simple and easy to use. My eleven year old knows how to use it. The cost is low comparable to other timekeeping applications. Cons As of today the only cons that I personally have is that it currently does not integrate with our bidding software. If this could integrate it would be the perfect software for our company.
