We started our relationship by a meeting between CEOs locally here in MN and we grew to rely on Grand Avenue Software as an auditable system to ensure our successful ISO 9001 certification by a respected international Notified Body over many years.

Pros

We have been using Grand Avenue Software (GAS) for years to store our Quality Management System (QMS) at Frestedt Inc. We provide clinical, quality, regulatory and engineering services for drug device and food companies. We are often asked to advise about software and have been so impressed, we set up a separate GAS system for one of our clients within our business.

Cons

Obviously, a separate software is not required for a quality system to work so the added cost to purchase the system was a business decision. Looking at other systems, Grand Avenue Software was a reasonable cost and we pay it TWICE each year to enable us to have both our own and a system for another, entirely separate business.

Pros

Earlier this summer, we had a call with the GAS team regarding Connector and Tableau. Since then, discovering that GAS can integrate with Tableau has been a major win for us this year. We’re now successfully pulling data from both GAS and Salesforce into Tableau, allowing us to generate clear, insightful KPI charts and reports. This integration has added a lot of value to our reporting capabilities, and we truly appreciate the guidance and support from GAS. The GAS team has been consistently supportive — they’ve done a great job answering our questions and actively working to understand our needs to improve future version updates.

Cons

While the platform offers a great deal of flexibility, there are a few modules where I wish there were more configuration options. Overall, it's a positive experience, and I appreciate how much we can customize — I just find myself wishing for a little bit more control in certain areas.

Grand Avenue is instrumental in our critical equipment management program. I use the software for regulatory compliance and required maintenance alerts.

Pros

I love the customer support! Grand Avenue is very user friendly, but if I do have a question or concern, it is addressed immediately.

Cons

Not a single thing. Grand Avenue provides all the processes we require for efficient equipment management.

Excellent customer service and training team. They take the time to teach users how to use and administer the program.

Pros

The software is very user friendly. The modules interact with each seamlessly. The customer service team is very responsive to questions.

Cons

As they roll out some of their newer modules, they are not fully interactive with the existing modules.

The GAS implementation team trained us to setup the system to fit our QMS, and provided support with ready-to-use GAS work instructions, as well as all the software validation documentation we needed. They are available for any follow-up questions. They take feedback seriously and use that to roll-out new features. Their support was crucial in making our implementation a success. We look forward to rolling out GAS at our European sites.

Pros

Grand Avenue Software (GAS) was easily adopted by all users. It is very intuitive to use. We use almost all the modules and GAS has all the features our company needs from an eQMS. We looked at a dozen solutions before choosing GAS and we have not regretted that decision once.

Cons

We have not found cons so far in any of the features we are using. The extra available fields can be put to good use to customize some process flows.

I have used Grand Avenue at four different companies now. The software does what it needs at a reasonable cost compared to their competitors and our employees find that it is easy to use. Its not flashy but it just works which to me is what is important for QMS software.

Pros

As a startup company, I like the fact that Grand Avenue allows us to tailor our subscriptions to only the modules we need at the time. It helps keep costs down and allows our QMS to scale as the company grows. The software is also very easy to use and Grand Ave. has excellent customer support when issues come up.

Cons

The CAPA module works well but sometimes I find the steps of the process are not super intuitive. It takes some getting used to but ultimately it does what it needs to do. I am also looking forward to see where they take the Requirements management module over time. Right now it does not do enough for us to consider implementing it.

Easy to implement and train new users to use the software. I've used or implemented the software at multiple companies. Everything is fairly intuitive, and support is always there for you if you have a question. Great user experience as an administrator or at any user level.

Pros

Customer Support is great and the value for the money is incredible compared to competitors. Its incredible to me that companies pay what they do for some of the big name QMS softwares out there.

Cons

Can't complain about anything really. Grand Ave is always receptive to feedback and continuously improving the software.

Allows an early stage medical device company to get off of paper records and into electronic arena. Makes record keeping and trending much easier. No more hunting down a CAPA plan. With Grand Avenue, it's either been completed or it hasn't. No more losing paperwork.

Pros

Most of the modules within Grand Avenue are very easy to use. It is also very easy to print records for an audit.

Cons

There is limited flexibility with Grand Avenue (you cannot create additional process flows, only what is offered out of the box). The reporting is also very limited.

The feedback is valid: We've designed our product suite primarily targeting ISO 13485 customers, and each module (e.g. CAPA, Complaint, Document Control, Training, etc.) delivers an out-of-the-box process that is intended to help customers deploy a solution that's easy to validate and keep up-to-date. To accomplish that we've traded some flexibility for a more structured framework that's easier to test and validate each time we release a new version.
