I love Gusto and I give it a thumbs up! I would recommend it to anyone. Not only did I access my paystubs, but the W2s were easy to obtain too.

Pros

The paperwork was easy to sign it was a very and it was a fast process. I could access my paystubs online.

Cons

Nothing. There wasn't anything thing wasn't hard or complicated. The onboarding is great service to me.

### "Great for freelancers!"

I used Gusto when I was working for echo labs as an outreach marketer. I was paid on time, everytime.

Pros

I like the perks! Plus they take care of everything. Getting paid was never a problem, and it was fast and secure. The dashboard layout makes it easy to find your contracts.

Cons

Nothing really, I use it to get paid from different companies because I am a freelancer. Maybe they need to make it where you can import contracts from companies that don’t use the software.

### "Unhappy with customer support - 401k Integration"

17 weeks of behind 401k contributions. Very hard to get answers from their team that works in this department.

Pros

Easy to setup and get going for the most part, its a good option for small businesses. Cost are pretty reasonable for the value you receive. But you get what you pay for I suppose.

Cons

Retirement contributions have not been going into the correct accounts! Could we get some support from Gusto about your existing products please!?! 😠 17 weeks of behind 401k contributions, and it's not 100% Gusto's fault but my experience is that it's been very hard to get answers from their team that works in this department. Emails not responded to. Happy to change my review because otherwise it's worked out well for us so far. Please contact us immediately.

### "A decent HR system but could be improved"

Overall it's an easy to use system, but certain things are not always clear and have required support interactions to get resolved rather than self service.

Pros

I like that I can keep track of all my paystubs and work benefits in one place

Cons

Support has not been great, and they've not been very helpful when it comes to managing medical benefits

The employee self-service portal is well-organized, letting team members update information and access pay stubs without constant admin involvement.

Cons

Sometimes customer support response times can be slower than ideal, especially during peak payroll periods. The platform also has occasional limitations in customization for more complex pay structures, and certain reports could offer more flexibility in filtering and exporting data.

Gusto saves me a lot of time by filing tax documents and helping with the payroll process. I would highly recommend it to someone who is looking to save money compared to some of the competitors such as ADP.

Pros

Gusto is easy to use and is the most affordable service I can use to do payroll for my company. I was able to run payroll for my company by myself without any issues and had all of the support I needed.

Cons

Some of the reports are difficult to generate and I have trouble pulling reports for individual people for different metrics sometimes. It's possible but not a very straightforward process.

I have been working with Gusto and our clients for four years and overall it has been very easy to use. If I have any questions, or need any direction the customer service is fabulous!!

Pros

Gusto is very user-friendly, so even if you don't know what the payroll process is this system walks you through it. Customer service deserves a 10!!!

Cons

For a larger company Gusto may not be the right fit. Some of the more complicated payroll processings it has some limitations.

Pros

Gusto makes a business owner's job much easier by covering everything under their umbrella. They process monthly payroll forms for the business; separate taxes based on each employee's customizations and provide annual tax forms.

Cons

Gusto can get pricey depending upon the number of employees being serviced, and some employees have found it difficult to customize their withholdings.

### "Gusto is a superior timetracking service"

I was thrilled to learn that my new employer also uses Gusto. The experience continues to be everything I have come to expect from Gusto.

Pros

Gusto is, by far, the easiest time keeper management program on the market. Tracking time is easy. Gusto is end-user friendly and makes finding all of the information you could need relating to payroll a piece of cake. Time off is very easy to request.

Cons

There isn't really anything about Gusto I do not like, but it would be nice if the mobile version allowed for entering time through the keyboard rather than a scrolling time card.

### "Never Gusto"

Their app apparently doesn't natively support CO wage withholding, there is no way of telling if they've paid it or not, and they wait until the last possible second on purpose to file. Their support gaslights you and waste your time for at least an hour before reaching out for help, then they discuss ways to try and explain to you they aren't going to do anything about it. But trust us, TRUUUUST US. We weren't going to pay it last quarter until you told us about it, theres no way you can tell in our own app if we did pay it for you, we aren't going to do anything about it, go call the state if you care about it so much. Actual conversation with support. Over the past 2 quarters I had to spent ~9 hours over 4 separate chat support sessions, far more time than would've taken me to do it myself. Should've left after Q1, now I definitely am, supposed to save me time and I have to manage them in addition to running my own company, unreal.

Pros

There was not one thing I liked about Gusto, let alone something I liked the most, nothing. They didn't even lie well.

Cons

They weren't even planning on paying 1 out of the 3 of my state tax obligations. I had to point out to them that they needed to pay something they weren't even aware of, when they are supposed to be the tax experts. Then proceeded to send me emails telling me to relax they got this, when they clearly don't.

### "Forget about it!"

As a professional bookkeeper, I assisted a client with payroll migration from ADP. I researched PR alternatives, identified Gusto as a strong possibility, made the initial contact, set up my client, did the migration, and acted as PR admin. After all this, Gusto refused a referral bonus…said I didn’t follow the link even after assurances from CS that I would receive the bonus.

Pros

The smiley face icons, the price. The sales consultation was straightforward leaving me confident that the migration process would be painless.

Cons

The migration process was frustrating. Sales consultant disappeared after we signed up. Our first payroll was held up because our bank did not participate in PLAID.

Cons

Subscription fee can be higher compared to other payroll solutions which might be a consideration for small businesses, some essential features are limited to the most expensive plan. It has limited customization and sometime we feel Bugs and issues.

We have no complaints. It’s a great payroll company and using the onboarding features where they upload their own information is great.

Pros

We enjoy the ease of use of this product. It the best payroll service we have used in years. Being able to process payroll online and integrate with our scheduling tool is a time saver

I can’t say there are many negatives. I would enjoy a better tracking PTO in the package we have. Like being able to choose the days they are off.

Gusto has given me the opportunity to do everything in one place, from record keeping to onboarding to calendar management and information disburesement.

Pros

There is so much information at your disposal. Our team can access benefits, birthdays, compensation, and time-off in one place. It has been such a blessing in regard to onboarding and record keeping. It is also easy to access remotely from the office. I don't have to be here to use it effectively.

Cons

Initially, I had to double authenticate myself when I logged in anywhere other than my phone. I have resolved this, so there is nothing I like least.

I worked for a larger company and it didn't have the dedicated level of service I am used to from other HRIS providers. Mobile app is easy to use, easy to go through onboarding as well.

easy to maneuver and great for smaller companies. I liked the mobile app as it was pretty user friendly

There is not a dedicated service team to each department and it's not a great platform for companies with over 10 employees.

### "Easy payroll, powerful automation with gusto."

Payroll that used to take hours now takes minutes. And compliance anxiety is way, way down. Gusto allowed us to scale HR work without scaling the team.

Pros

Gusto made it so we could almost put our payroll on autopilot. Tax filings, onboarding, benefits it is all centralized and automated. The employee self-service portal is a major win for transparency.

Cons

Support response is not immediate during the busy hours. We want there was an option for more customizable reports as well done.

Pros

I've used Gusto as an employee of several small businesses and start ups, and there's always been incredible customer support. During my time using Gusto, it was pretty easy to use and any questions I had were always answered right away by Gusto's team. Even after I left a company who used Gusto, the team at Gusto were able to help me track down my W2s or other resources I might need.

Cons

When using Gusto, there were some bugs and issues, like issues with loading, and issues where it couldn't access information. However, customer service was always ready to resolve any problems that came up.

Gusto offers good free tools, but the most interesting features are reserved for paid plans. That’s how I started using it.

All the staff loved Gusto. It had a lot of great features. It offered a service that let you borrow money until your next paycheck.

Pros

We loved Gusto! It was easy to use and easy to find things and get around the site. Finding time sheets and end of the year documents was really simple.

Cons

There were no cons. All the employees really enjoyed the features. I think the only thing it didn't provide a few years ago was timesheets and being able to schedule.

Overall, I have had a very positive experience with Gusto. We currently use a different software for clocking in and out, but are looking to switch to Gusto.

Pros

I love that it's an all around platform. We can handle payroll, onboarding, time sheets and HR support in one place. It's very user friendly and easy to use. As an employee, I love that I can easily track my pay stubs, PTO, and sick time.

Cons

I don't have any cons that I can think of for the amount that I use the app. I have heard it can be a little pricey for smaller businesses.
