### "Best Payroll Provider I have Used"

Definitely pleased. It is always a little nerve-racking to change payroll providers. The changeover was definitely easy.

Pros

Definitely a god value for the money. We have not had any issues while using. We are able to run reports we never thought were possible with our old provider. Customer service is always helpful and polite.

Cons

Struggle with some areas like updates to benefits, so large it is hard to figure out how to do certain things.

Excellent. We have had fantastic customer service on the whole and it is a vital part of our organization.

Pros

The comprehensive customer support and the quarterly in person problem solving time we receive. 97% of the time I speak to a person and don't have to leave a message. They proactively reach out to us when there are changes in requirements.

Cons

It has a lot of features for a small organization, but it can be hard to implement and keep up with improvements Paycom makes.

I have been in my role and using Paycom for about 9 months and feel like I have an overall good sense of how to utilize the key features. I am often overwhelmed by the amount of features and regularly unsure of what each function does. I think Paycom is capable of doing all of the tasks I want it too but I have no idea how to make changes to get to that point.

Pros

I love having the ability to access most features from my phone. The team is also very responsive although sometimes don't always have a quick answer, it is pretty easy to get in touch with a representative.

Cons

It is incredibly challenging to figure out where/how to make changes to certain things. Or seems to be multiple locations to make changes that are very similar. A good example is adding a pay code to a specific employee, often times we need to go to the employees profile to see what labor allocation profile they are in, then go to the labor allocation profiles and either create a new one or find an existing one that allows the correct access, then go back to the employees profile to change it to this and then also edit the user access profile for the manager to be able to see this employee. It is just a lot of steps for simple procedures. This is just one example but feel similar about other features.

### "Glad we made the Transition"

Overall my experience has been great. From what we were using previously to now, it has been a drastic change. We get much more interaction and support through Paycom.

Pros

I like that it has streamlined my HR items and eliminated my need for paper. The Paycom staff are always very helpful and willing to assist when needed. Overall it has made my day-to-day operations much more efficient.

Cons

The item that I like least about Paycom is scheduling. It does seem that the scheduling feature is more for a hospital setting or consistent schedules, which does not work for what we need.

It has been highly improved since we switched to Paycom in 2020. They are always updating and improving each function provided. Payroll has come a long way, and I like that we have one dedicated specialist. It was a lot more difficult to deal with different people every time we called in, this was a very smart decision.

Pros

Paycom assigns a specialist to help you through any issues or concerns, and they typically respond the same day, often within the hour. It is a one-stop shop for all your business needs, including benefits, payroll, financial reporting, and all HR related functions.

Cons

While I know some webinars summarize Paycom updates, it would be nice if there were more detailed videos for each change. Something that not only describes the change but also explains how it will affect different functions going forward.

Overall, my experience with Paycom has been very positive. The software is user-friendly, easy to navigate, and continues to improve with helpful features like IWant. Their customer service team is excellent and always quick to provide answers and support when needed. I also really value the relationship aspect of their service. Their traveling field agent visits us about every quarter to provide trainings, check in with our team, and discuss ways we can continue improving our processes. That level of support and communication has made working with Paycom a great experience overall.

Pros

What I like most about Paycom is how user-friendly the software is. It’s very easy to navigate and find what you need. The new IWant feature has also been very helpful because employees can ask their own questions instead of always coming to me as the payroll admin. I also really appreciate their customer service team. They always respond quickly and are very helpful whenever I have questions.

Cons

One thing I like least about Paycom is that some features can take time to learn when they are first introduced or updated. However, they do a great job providing training sessions and resources for new features, which makes the transition much easier and helps users get comfortable quickly.

Very good. We have utilized more modules within the last year and learned so much. Many of the modules have really made things run more efficiently.

Pros

Easy navigation for managers and employees. Training is offered to managers if needed. Customer support is a live person that answers.

Cons

Sometimes not notified if an update has happened and it changes things for us on our screen or procedure.

I feel heard and treated with respect. Development recommendations are genuinely considered. They check in periodically to make sure you are getting your full value from the system and review best practices.

Pros

Everytime you turn around, Paycom is developing something new. Innovation is their middle name! And could we please give our client rep, \[sensitive content hidden\], a round of applause?! She is like a dog with a bone and chews on an issue until there is nothing left to chew on.

Cons

Some things don’t integrate. For instance, in payroll, there are 3-4 fields indicating whether an EE is hourly or salary.

Pros

I have used many other payroll platforms and Paycom’s customer service is top notch! They are always available when I need them and are experienced enough to solve my issues quickly.

Cons

Building the performance reviews require multiple layers to get to the final product. If you have a complicated review, that are different for each position, the platform is not user friendly.

My overall experience with Paycom was very poor. Great promises, high hopes that things would be addressed, and never once was anything delivered on.

Pros

The sales people were great!.... The employee mobile application was also enjoyed by my staff and something they felt was easy to navigate.

Cons

Implementation and customer service were atrocious. I'm truly not sure I've ever had a worse experience with a vendor. They set things up improperly - we had spreadsheets sent to them with tax information that was never setup as it should have been - and we spent hours upon hours fixing things because of this. That's just one example of so many things that went wrong.

So far my experience with Paycom has been great! Again, I feel like Paycom is a partner and not just a payroll processing provider.

Pros

Paycom has been a great partner for our company! First, it is very easy to use and if I do have questions, they are always available to help. So far communication and collaboration has been excellent! I have talked with them more in 6 months than I had with the previous provider in 5 years!

Cons

If there is any con, it would be price; however, it is still a great value for the service that we are getting.

I was the lead for our implementation. It was alot of work, but new it would be great. It has been an amazing experience and would highly recommend to any employer to use. I love all the trainings offered and my rep is ALWAYS willing to make time for me.

Pros

It's easy to use and understand. The service is amazing and my rep always responds quickly and helps make sure I understand the full process behind what I am trying to accomplish.

Cons

Nothing comes to mind. I promote Paycom every chance I get and have been very satisfied with the implementation and long-term care program. There is nothing I do not like about Paycom.

### "Paycom won me over"

Overall, it's a great system to use and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality HRM program and service. I exclusively work on Payroll, and payroll is very easy to use in Paycom. It's consistent and I can trust that the system will work accurately 100% of the time. Any time I have thought something was "wrong", it was me misunderstanding how something worked.

Pros

Paycom has been a very consistent product since I've started using it. Generally, elements of the website do not change often, and when they do it's easy to adjust and move on. There are no massive changes or adjustments made to the product, and it's easy to use day over day. We have a customer service agent assigned to our team, \[sensitive content hidden\], and he's been wonderful. Any time I have ever emailed him for support, he consistently answers all of my questions and concerns. He doesn't talk past me and will communicate something to me in the way that makes the most sense to me. Reporting is really dynamic and I appreciate how powerful the Advanced Report Writer can be.

Cons

The site can be overwhelming to start with. A lot of options don't feel like they're in places that make the most sense. I struggled to understand the basic report center initially, and the advanced report writer can be a LOT to try and understand. Some of the options in the advanced report writer don't make sense until you generate a report with those selections to see what it pulled in. We've gone through two other customer service agents previously. They did their job ultimately but definitely did not give us any kind of confidence in the product. I did not trust Paycom much until \[sensitive content hidden\] was assigned to our account. 401k matches are not adjustable while creating payroll checks. This is a MASSIVE pain. There was a single update that took place that allowed us to edit the matches on paychecks, and then it was reverted or removed. PLEASE give that back. It is insanely frustrating that I can't see a 401k match calculation until I go to the check register preview portion of payroll. I should be able to adjust the item or AT LEAST view it to see how much is calculating.

### "Still wouldn't recommend "

Overall I have had an unfavorable experience with Paycom, but it is improving. Unfortunately due to integration I would still not recommend.

Pros

One stop shop. I like the trainings and report building. Blake Kennedy knows everything. We have been through several reps don't respond or don't know, but we have a good one now.

Cons

Integration was a nightmare and I will never recommend Paycom because of the horrible experience we had. They even would place blame on us for things. Everything is extra. Items are billed per paycheck and not in lump sum or per actual user. Other payroll companies have been able to charge supplemental tax and normal tax on the same check automatically and Paycom cannot. The tax department is almost impossible to deal with. They just have us upload things over and over again and never really resolve an issue until I call and complain or even figure the issue out myself by.

From an administrative standpoint, Paycom’s reporting features are strong, and having a dedicated account representative makes issue resolution more efficient. Overall, Paycom is a solid solution for HR teams that prioritize accuracy, compliance, and process standardization. It works especially well in mid‑ to large‑sized organizations where employee self‑service and centralized data management can significantly reduce HR workload.

Pros

Paycom has been a valuable all‑in‑one system for managing payroll, employee data, time and attendance, and overall HR processes. Having everything housed in a single platform significantly reduces duplicate entry and helps maintain data accuracy across departments.

Cons

While the employee‑driven model reduces HR data entry, it also creates risk. Errors made by employees (missed punches, incorrect tax or benefit selections) often still require HR follow‑up and correction, shifting the burden rather than eliminating it.

My overall experience with Paycom has been positive, but it’s a system that is constantly changing. Some updates are helpful, while others can make everyday tasks a bit more frustrating. For example, the recent addition of multiple default groups in the employee group dropdown has made it harder to quickly find the groups I actually use. One area I wish was stronger is communication with applicants before onboarding. It would be helpful to send prescreening documents for signature after the application stage but before extending an official offer, especially when verifying qualifications. I do like the MyCom feature, as it’s a great way to share company updates. However, I wish there was more flexibility, specifically the ability to include multiple pages or longer newsletters, since ours can be quite detailed. Overall, Paycom is a reliable and useful system, but there are definitely areas where added flexibility and user-focused improvements would enhance the experience.

Pros

The system is reliable overall, with very few bugs or issues that impact daily use. Customer support is also very exceptional they are usually quick to answer phone calls and helpful in resolving issues in real time.

Cons

One downside is the document experience. Files often have to be downloaded instead of being viewed directly in the browser, which slows things down. Also, when reviewing documents (like PAFs and other documents), you can’t easily go back to where you left off, you have to restart from the employee profile and find your place again, which can be frustrating and time-consuming.

Overall, it is easy to get a hold of a dedicated representative via email or phone; however, one bad representative can seriously impact the experience.

Pros

I think that the value of Paycom supersedes the price that we pay. I do think that the functionality on the backend is helpful. In general, very easy to use.

Cons

We have had some "wants" for a long time, such as automations that go outside of Paycom. There is not much that is available (e.g., 401k integration). We also had a few service issues where tickets were left open for nearly a full year, resulting in some serious tax implications. Not extremely customizable.

### "Loving Paycom"

I use Paycom daily for payroll, wage garnishments, ask here inquiries, and many more tasks. I have always had a great experience with learning new things and ways to be able to save more time in completing those tasks. Customer service has been a pleasure with understanding the assistance I am looking for and a speedy response. I would definitely recommend Paycom to any business.

Pros

I enjoy the ease of being able to navigate through the different features of Paycom. I work with many different aspects. When I find I am unsure of how to complete a task, I can easily navigate to the help center to be able to implement the information given to assist me further. Otherwise, the support team at Paycom has always been an excellent resource through their email and phone support when needed. I also love the aspect that our employees are able to take charge of their own information through the ESS, at the same time that when they come across an issue, we are able to assist them with ease.

Cons

The least of Paycom that I have challenges with is the company maintenance and where to find a feature I am unsure of due to not being a part of the set up with my company. However, the more I have used Paycom and my company's customization of it, the more and easier tasks have become.

### "Average with Room to Grow."

Overall, my experience with Paycom has been average. The software itself has potential. There are hiccups and some things are updated on a delay. If communication can improve (see cons for details) I think a lot more development can occur.

Pros

I appreciate the use of dashboards. Dashboards make it easy to see all pending items, especially within a team of multiple associates. This allows any of use to check status at any time.

Cons

There are often times reports or sections within the system stop working. I have had multiple instances where a report I've been using for 1 year+ stops producing the content it used. Recently, after trial and error of multiple fields with our designated Paycom rep, we came to a conclusion that the developers changed something on the backend, impacting the given report. The other element that is a significant con, is the business structure and how they manage communications. Their process for communications starts at the top. They reach out the \[sensitive content hidden\] etc. when there are changes like a new sales rep being assigned to your account. However, unless your company is a small business, this is very inefficient. This results in the boots on the ground HR staff not being updated because executive management received an email communication that did not see. I understand wanting to include them from a sales perspective, but including all parties would be the better approach. That way the HR staff can discuss with their executive leadership and these communications do not get missed.

### "Paycom is worth it"

The customer service has scaled up since my first encounter with Paycom and there are constant updates. They are working hard to meet the demands of clients and the everchanging HR landscape.

Pros

The ability to have all actions for the life cycle of an employee housed in one system is paramount. Most items link up quite well and allow managers, employees and HR to see what is important to them. Very few bugs or issues to be found.

Cons

There are some items that the client can't build or see which can be frustrating but having a good specialist on your team can minimize that frustration.

Pros

The value for the money and customer support is the best in the industry. I have worked as an HR Director for 20 years and have used their services and products in different industries. The customizations and options they offer are a plus.

Cons

The EDI support for the benefits can be challenging and could use more details and clarity in training especially in the topics of open enrollment during intial introductions.

### "Platform Does Not Perform As Represented"

Their staff are polite and helpful, but even they struggle with the system. Their implementation staff will start to show us something, click in one place, and then say "that's not where it is" and move someplace else. When we expressed our concerns and asked that they be escalated, we got the same 2-3 people on the phone for over a month. There has been no traction and no willingness to acknowledge their product does not perform as the described in the sales porcess.

Pros

Initially, we were happy with the payroll execution and employee scheduling. Even that has become problematic now though.

Cons

The product was misrepresented to us during the sales process and four key areas that were table stakes for us have been nothing of what was advertised. We cannot process payroll as they told we would, we cannot get a functioning GL, their ATS cannot facilitate communication and cannot perform any scheduling functions, and Paycom seems to think employee onboarding begins at their start date, so we cannot facilitate any tasks or communication prior to that date. I want to emphasize, these were all areas we asked specific questions about in contracting process, and were told the product could do, in no uncertain terms. We even have in writing that they misrepresented at least one of the above.

Overall, our experience has been very positive. We transitioned to Paycom over three years ago, and the results have consistently met or exceeded expectations. The implementation period was manageable, adoption across the organization was smooth, and the system has continued to perform reliably over time. Since the transition, we have benefited from improved integration, streamlined processes, and a more intuitive user experience for both employees and management. The platform has supported our operational needs without disruption and has scaled effectively with the business. Three years in, we remain satisfied with the decision and the long-term value the system has delivered.

Pros

The platform operates as a fully integrated system, which has been a significant improvement compared to our prior experience with ADP. Under ADP, each product functioned within a different interface and did not integrate seamlessly. In addition, ADP required multiple logins across modules, which created unnecessary friction and inefficiency. Paycom’s unified architecture eliminates those issues. The system is cohesive, navigation is intuitive, and employees have had no difficulty using the portal. The timekeeping tools are particularly strong — robust, user-friendly, and easy for both staff and management to operate. From a configuration standpoint, the flexibility is substantial. The system allows for extensive customization to align with specific business needs. We have not encountered a structural limitation that prevented us from implementing a required workflow. Support has also been a meaningful improvement over ADP. The Paycom team is generally knowledgeable about the software and able to provide informed guidance. Overall responsiveness and product familiarity have been strong. Overall, the transition has resulted in improved usability, better integration, and stronger operational efficiency.

Cons

I do not have any material concerns or drawbacks to report. Overall, the transition has improved usability, integration, and operational efficiency.

### "All In One Platform with Lots of Options"

We transitioned to Paycom a few years ago and are still exploring what is possible for us to add on. There is always another option to add, with new tools coming out on a regular basis and updates to existing ones. I like the communication from the Paycom team on a regular basis and having a dedicated Paycom Specialist who is quick to respond to any questions we have.

Pros

I appreciate that it is an all in one platform for us. It's been great for managers and employees. We're now able to use it for employee recruitment, screening, onboarding, and support. It's cut down on the amount of time it takes to do things, which has freed up my time to focus on bigger projects.

Cons

It's not always the most intuitive platform to find what you need. It takes some getting used to because there can be multiple ways to get to the same spot. I often need to reach out to our Paycom Specialist for help, which he is thankfully always willing to provide!

I like Paycom a lot. I worked with Paycom at my previous employer for 8 years and was excited to start a new job over a year ago, that also uses Paycom. It was nice to already know the software. I always have good things to say about Paycom.

Pros

Paycom is super user friendly. If there is anything that you do not know, you can call your dedicated rep and they will answer any question and show you how to complete the task. You won't ever have an issue getting the help you need. I also like that they offer so much. It is easy to only pay for what you need because you can customize your package. It is still a little pricy but it is worth it because you know your HR/Payroll/Benefits will be accurate.

Cons

That although worth it, it is pricy. I am not a business owner, but I know the prices and how it can add up quickly. It is a good investment and you get a good platform and help for what you pay for.
