I have been using this system since 2021 and have no desire to change. It is affordable and simple to use, which saves me time and money.

Pros

I love how simple it is to use as a single provider with a virtual assistant. It is easy for me to communicate with patients as well as my assistant.

Cons

The messaging system could be improved as far as the screen size. I also wish it worked better with Safari/MacBooks.

A great product overall. Easy to use with great telehealth functionality, just more expensive than other products that offered similar features.

Pros

Excellent user-interface, very simple and straightforward. Well-integrated with payment processing and very easy to manage appointments.

Cons

The cost is high for small practices with individual or few employees. Some features were not utilized for groups, prescribing, etc.

Overall, really good. I’ve occasionally thought about changing to a less expensive EMR but generally I’ve been satisfied enough not to.

Pros

Overall, it’s a really solid EMR. I like the calendar layout; scheduling appts is extremely easy; the telehealth interface is great. Clients seem to love the reminders and generally have no issues accessing telehealth. On the whole, online payments are really easy as well.

Cons

The treatment plan update feature needs work. You have to pull up previous plan and edit right in the plan. It took me awhile to figure this out, and it just seems like there should be an easier, more straightforward and clinically helpful way to do it.

Overall it was good for what we were needing at the time, it worked perfectly for starting out in healthcare.

Pros

How easy and simple the software was easy to use. If you need the simple stuff, this is the perfect one.

Cons

It is way to basic for more complex companies. If you need all the bells and whistles, it may not be on here.

SimplePractice was my initial stop when looking for HIPAA compliant charting, however, as a counselor in solo private practice, it isn't the option I ended up going with due to it not being the best value for the money. If other options provide the same level of service for less money it's a no brainer.

Pros

SimplePractice provides an all-in-one space to create templates for critical HIPAA compliant functions such as charting and appointment management. The user interface is quite easy to use and intuitive. While I never experienced any bugs or issues, and so never needed to contact their customer support, I'm sure it was as high quality as their product.

Cons

For the purposes of my solo private practice, SimplePractice simply wasn't the best value for the money.

My overall experience with SimplePractice was good. I have had no other issues with using their system!

Pros

I liked SimplePractice because of the ease of use, appointment management and the ability to make and send off templates with ease. I loved the streamlining of intake paperwork and the ability to document notes.

Cons

Unfortunately as a one member small business, SimplePractice increased their prices quite a bit which was outside of my budget. The system in general was great to use and I would have continued to use it without the price increase.

Simple to use ehr with all the basics you would need. It is costly in comparison to other products on the market.

Pros

It is simple to use and easy to have multiple users. Has telehealth options with minimal glitches or errors.

Cons

It is very costly in comparison to other products on the market, and does not have premium features for the price.

Very professional up until the time I had to leave due to rising costs. They were even helpful in enabling me and instructing me on how to download my files safely and securely. I left feeling nothing but respect and gratitude to them.

Pros

Simple Practice was very easy to use and was very consumer friendly. I trusted that my files were safe and encrypted and HIPAA compliant.

Cons

The cost began to become a little too expensive for a one person business. Perhaps it is more cost effective for larger companies to use.

Overall, we enjoy our work with SimplePractice and one of the most important things is ease on the client side, which is our priority. The secure messaging is a helpful tool for clients to access at any time.

Pros

We have enjoyed the ease of use of SimplePractice, more importantly our clients have appreciated the client portal reporting how easy and user friendly it is. Additionally, the document storing has been very helpful and creating and sending our own documents. Insurance filing is easy once it is set up and makes filing and resubmitting claims much easier than other platforms. Customer support is always available and responsive.

Cons

I appreciate the platform, however the price is more than other similar EHRs. It makes sense for our practice due to having multiple team members, but may become to expensive if we add more people to the practice.

Overall, the platform works well for video virtual appointments, allowing the practitioner to chart at the same time.

Pros

Works great for virtual appointments: automated appointment reminders via phone, text and email that seemlessly link to opening up the app for video appointments.

Cons

No option for clients to manage making new appointment times with practitioners. The phone reminder has an option for canceling the appointment; the text and email options do not.
