Psychologist Mental Health Care Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "All In with TheraNest " November 21, 2018 5.0 Our office was using one company for scheduling patients and patient notification (text messaging); one company for billing; and one company for notes which resulted in huge opportunities for human error; the specific needs of our office were not addressed with any one company. TheraNest addresses most of our office needs in one integrated program. Scheduling, appointment notifications, progress notes, billing, and ERA (eventually). I previewed the ERA and it looks like it will efficiently apply payments to billed services. I am very satisfied with TheraNest and strongly recommend it for other Behavioral Health providers. Pros Imported years of data from another system into TheraNest with no errors and very limited time commitment. Their customer support was very helpful and honest about the transition. TheraNest is full featured- Our office used a competitor program for 30+ years but wanted/needed a cloud based state of the art EHR program- Our office tried several other popular programs but they all had significant limitations. We are very excited about Theranest. Our Office is new to the program but so far so good. The customer support is excellent. They are adding features frequently, including specific features requested by users. The start up learning curve is doable and our staff picked it up in a few days versus weeks. The scheduling, pt. appointment notifications, calendar, and agenda are well thought out and fully integrated. The initial intake note and progress notes took some getting used too but they work very well- DX codes are easily entered and updated. The progress notes are very professional and signed and cosigned if necessary. I know this sounds like a paid advertisement but I have spent a lot of time, money and effort trying other programs and I was never more encouraged than with Theranest. Our goal was to be fully functional with the transition from our current system to Theranest by January 2019. We are ahead of schedule and our intention is to bill our first full month of receivables for November 2018. Cons The fees were initially off putting. But after becoming familiar with TheraNest, I see the potential for a very efficient, time saving, integrated system that is well worth the monthly investment. There is also flexibility with monthly billing based upon caseload (increasing or decreasing at discretion of the user) and it seems fair. I spend significantly less time on administrative tasks thanks to its ease of use and intuitive design. Pros Easy to use and well organized, this platform makes navigation simple and intuitive. March 14, 2026 2.0 Up until the recent change in what appears to be scheduling, I thought it was great. This change was unnecessary, the tutorial is extremely useless, and it is causing a delay in writing progress notes & scheduling clients. The old way was fine. Pros The quality of the AI is great, my written notes are more sophisticated. I use to like the ease of scheduling but that has diminished with the recent changes. I have been with this company a long time and would leave it if I didn’t have so many clients with them. I have never been so angry at a company before. I expressed this to them and they hung up on me. No solutions, just a hang up. Pros The EHR system has some good points to it. I have thousands of clients in it and it ran well under its \[sensitive content hidden\]. Under the company who bought him out, not so much. Cons Terrible customer support, especially by director level people. I am now an extremely unhappy customer. They are binding me to a billing contract really for no reason. I have expressed several times that they are not doing their job. I have called my the insurance we bill several times and they have not even received claims that theranest states that they have. Cons The AI note feature is not available for the initial assessment, and it would be helpful if it could be added there as well. It made it easy for my staff and I to review charts electronically. The calendar feature is very user-friendly. Cons It was very difficult to figure out how to co-sign on my staff notes. I needed this function and found it hard to set up. Setting up each staff person was a little difficult. It didn't take very long to become accustomed to using it correctly. There was a learning curve, but I would say it was relatively short, making it easy to use in the first few weeks. Pros I am an independent contractor, so I don't have anything to do with billing, insurance, or staff and workflow. As a therapist, I think Theranest is easy to use and is clear how to schedule appointments, change appointments, and create and write my notes. Cons The treatment plans are not clear regarding target dates and whether to sign the plan when it is created or when it is completed. However, Theranest was so easy to understand that I quickly became comfortable using it and completely forgot it had been a concern in the first place. Pros The platform is easy to navigate and makes it simple to organize my timeslots. I also appreciate that whenever there is an update, I receive clear notifications explaining the changes and how they are intended to improve workflow, work quality, and time management. Cons Sometimes the system glitches and schedules multiple slots. This has happened to me several times when I schedule recurring sessions for my clients across days or weeks. The appointments don’t always save correctly, and I end up having to enter them manually afterward. I also find the new billing system less efficient than the previous one. Before, the process was more straightforward. Now having to navigate to a separate page each time I charge a client feels unnecessary, especially compared to how easily it worked before. Its also great if you have several part-time clinicians since you pay by the amount of clients Cons It lacks some features both on the client side and staff side that can be improved. The client portal as well as billing abilities are not as robust as other programs. Some of my collleagues chose another platform, but I liked Theranest so much that I stayed with this platform Pros I live Theranest very much. I has all of he functionlality that I need to manage a successful private practice. The reporting system and the ach payment functions are outstandinding. Techical support is outstanding with a rich knowoedge base, online chat and voice to voice support make problem resolution easy and seamless. Cons I don't really have anything really here. Having a chat feature where I can connect with a representative is very efficient. Cons I would like more multiple choice features when it comes to filling out a MSE or a progress note. I would like the feature to print a progress note without a treatment plan attached, I would like to have the option to redact information before printing, and I would like for the little note icon on the calendars weekly page to be a different color when I sign a note as opposed to not signing the note. The program helped me first by the easiness of learning how to use TgeraNest as well as everything is easy to navigate. I am a first time volunteer here at the counseling center and I was not very familiar with this program however it is easy to use and very helpful in all aspects of our counseling center.
