### "eVet is the worst practice management system I have every used "

My experience has been extremely poor. I have not found a single redeeming feature of the program so far. The inventory management does not fully integrate. The reports are AWFUL and do not allow for very good business analysis. The invoicing/treatment plans come out very confusing and are not easy to read or understand. Even the Menu of options at the top of the screen are in a random mishmash without any order, intuitive, alphabetical, or otherwise. The whole program is terrible and I will never recommend it ever.

Pros

I honestly do not like any part of this software. I have been in the field for over 20 years and have used many practice management systems. I used to think Avimark was the worst, but eVet has taken the cake. It is terrible to use as an employee and especially awful to use as an administrator.

Cons

I think the thing that I would say is the worst part is the fact that it continually crashes. I literally crash the program every time I try to run any basic report. I am not exaggerating! I know that if I go to run a report, the program will crash and I will have to terminate the program and open it again.

I have already recommended and gotten approval to get a different PM system to replace eVet. It is cheap, but it is too cheap and not worth it.

Pros

Ease of use, easy to learn and train new people. Multiple ways to get to where you need to go. Paperwork is easy to read and understand.

Cons

Too many clicks. It's not easy to search for inactive patients or clients.

Cons

Records seem to be missing and sometimes you can see them in one spot and not another.Too many ways to do one thing.

### "A Strong, Affordable Option"

Evet has really helped modernize our practice and freed our staff up from some of the limitations of our old server-based program. Customer support has been outstanding, though I do sometimes wish their hours were more West Coast-friendly. Overall, a positive experience with lots of good bells and whistles.

Pros

Lots of modern options, free data transfer from old software, cloud-based so easy access from anywhere.

Cons

Reminders setup and maintenance is not user-friendly. Server slowdowns can make things really difficult, but aren't too frequent (~ once a week so far, about 15-30 minutes per episode)

I'm still undecided as to whether or not this was a good decision to switch to this VPM software.

Pros

I like that it's cloud based and easy to access from anywhere. It has been a nightmare to implement, my clinic started trying to use it in late November 2022 with a goal of launching December 1st and it's almost April and we are still using our old system (Impromed) to invoice everything.

Cons

Lots of room for improvement. I wish that the patient weight/signalment was displayed on every screen so when I'm typing up a medical note I don't have to close it and go back to the medical record to see the weight. I wish that I could assign a task for my staff to do from the medical record instead of going to the task screen. I wish that I could assign something other than just a percentage off to a client account (like an employee) to something like cost + blank%.

### "Solid all around"

Overall experience has been great. Despite the drawbacks of the software there’s no better product on the market

Pros

Overall great set of features to get the job done.

Cons

Do user interface is lacking. Reliability recently has been an issue. Integrations with lab is poor such that it takes several minutes to generate a lab requisition form which slows us down quite a bit.

Pros

I like the fact that it is cloud based and I can easily work remotely if needed.

Cons

I would love it if you could easily re-arrange items on the treatment plan/estimate/invoices once they are added on like you can when creating packages. From an inventory management point of view it would also be helpful to be able to link more than one inventory item to a single procedure.

Pros

I love how easy it is to navigate and jump from one place to another with 1-2 clicks. Being able to customize the tabs to enter information quickly makes it even more user friendly.

Cons

It would be nice to be able to customize the layout of the appointment screen. We would love to be able to break each day in half length wise for the separate doctors.

### "Simple program without a lot of bells and whistles"

We feel this program was extremely well presented and full of promises. In reality, there are a lot of features which are difficult to navigate, edit and customize. It is click-intensive with multiple repeats of screens and it is easy to lose your place.

Pros

Changing the background color is fun... The program is fine. Its not great, its not horrible, it schedules and invoices clients. It is simple and utilitarian.

Cons

Some features are too basic without any way to customize. Many features (scheduling in particular) are hard to navigate. It is not very intuitive and takes you in circles clicking between screens.

We are a small, paper based practice with one doctor. We looked at 3 or 4 programs in total, and how evet was presented it seemed to fit our needs better than the others without having a lot of excess features included.

Cloud based, pretty easy to make changes and customizations

Cons

Impossible to get reports, invoicing and viewing payments is difficult. You can see quantity of meds filled without clicking on the product. Printing exam forms takes 6 steps. Diagnosis was need to be a different color (like Avimark)

### "It's reliable and workable"

The customer help is wonderful, but the programmers rarely, if ever, listen to the end users.

Pros

Being cloud based, it is very reliable. It's easy to learn and the sections are well differentiated. The exam forms are easy to personalize.

Cons

The system is not adaptable. You can request changes or additions but they are almost never done. Even simple requests are not met. They say they wait until enough vets request the same thing...which never happens of course because we all like and dislike different things.

Not good at all

Pros

Obviously I like the demo the most - it made Pulse look so easy. But reality came crashing when we started to use it.

Cons

Not user friendly. Asked too many times to do tasks that required intimate knowledge of computer programs/programming. We thought many of these things would be done for us but we were redirected to Excel, etc. instead of getting actual help. It's a very labor-intensive program requiring extra clicks to accomplish tasks that should be completed in one. Picture graphics are horrible - most of the patients look like they are being viewed from a fun-house mirror. Very distorted. The "easy transition" from our old program was a disaster.

I had not considered changing programs until Pulse was presented. So I never looked at any other programs.

### "Excellent Software with one problem"

Overall the experience has been very good with E-Vet. I would like to see the server issue / speed issue be improved. I could deal with slowness every once in a while, but having to contact them constantly about the issue is getting tiresome, especially when we have so little time in the day because of of increased business.

Pros

Software is straight forward and simple to use. The user interface is excellent and the features make it some of the best veterinary software I have used in 20+ years. Customer Support is available to help quickly.

Cons

The biggest complaint I have, which is a significant one, is that the E-Vet servers cause significant speed issues very often, at least a few times a week, sometimes everyday. These issues typically are at their worst right after E-Vet launches a monthly update release. It is something that seems to have become worse since this past November/ December 2020. When this issue occurs the software loads at a snails pace, sometimes taking 30 seconds to 2 minutes to load between pages. Customer support is very responsive but usually reports that "more resources need to be made available on their end to speed things up." All of our computers are hard wired and have very fast speeds and normal continual ping tests so we know what top check to make sure it is not on our end. Logical needed recommendations for software enhancements based on other software offerings are ignored and not implemented.

Overall good. However I have been requesting changes for the last 3 years that have still not been addressed. There needs to be an autosave feature for the feee typing in the medical record- if the software loses connection (no offline option) I lose all my work. I don't know why this is so difficult to add. Better features for downloading images. Frustrated by small changes to the look of the platform when functionality for some important issues is still lacking - would rather see that developed

Great platform. Very easy to use and a lot of helpful features for medical records and client communication. Have tried others and this one is definitely the most user friendly in my opinion. Very comprehensive .

Cons

Not very user friendly on image capture, storage of images and word platform. My practice is advanced diagnostics and based on images and this has been difficult with the software. There is no way to work offline and there is no "auto save" feature so I have lost work many times when losing internet connection at a farm. Have requested changes but still nothing.

Evetpractice is simple to use and helps keep me organized. It offers the capability of much more involved EMR software at a fraction of the cost.

Pros

We chose evetpractice because we were able to customize and individualize settings to meet the unique needs of our veterinary practice, which provides lifetime care for geriatric elephants.

Cons

I loved evetpractice when it was a very small company. I know that growth is important, and the customer service has remained great, but I miss calling them when they were just a few employees big because everyone knew everyone.

### "Best bang for the buck"

Probabaly the thing that has been the very most valuable is the ability to live chat with customer support. I also appreciate the no-fine-print subscription fees.

Pros

I love the cloud based accessibility! I also love being almost completely paperless. Integrated ordering thru MWI and rep is a a time saver. Easy to modify templates for email communications, practice documents, and SOAP notes. Payment processing integration helps streamline the check-out processs and eliminate manual entry errors. QBO integration is a plus. The cost compared to competitors was a big factor in my decision - value for the money.

Cons

Initial inventory setup was a bit painful and I ended up needing to back track to correct some errors due to some lack of information in initial training.

Cons

I would like to organize alerts differently than Pulse has things set up. This could help with organizing patient alerts, allergies, and fear free.

Pros

I can not think of 1 thing I like which is why we are switching.

Cons

There are a lot of bugs with this system. On a daily basis it calculates invoices incorrectly, randomly decides which patient it wants you to be viewing, and it asks you for you pin number several times while you are trying to do something (System is supposed to ask for pin when its been idle for 10min or more). I have brought these bugs to the attention of the company multiple times and even provided them proof of the said bugs. It been over a year and they do not care to fix these issues. Also if you decide to switch software, good luck getting anyone at evetpractice to get you all the information you need to switch.
