### "We love eVet Practice!"

Overall we've had a wonderful experience with eVetPractice. Any time we have a problem, we hope on the chat and a support staff member is with us within a few minutes. They are knowledgeable and always work to solve our problems, no matter how long it takes.

Pros

eVet is super user friendly and easy to use. We did have a few hiccups with the integration, but it was fixed very easily. I love that it is cloud based, which made it super easy for me to access while I was working from home during COVID. I also like that I can customize our schedule with different colors to help with organization.

Cons

With our old system if two people were making an appointment at the same time, there would be a notice in a time slot that an appointment was in progress. That is one feature I wish we had. Also, we do miss some of the different reports. There were a few reports in our old system that provided the exact information we were looking for.

After doing a few demos of other cloud based systems, we chose eVetPractice. I think eVet fits our clinics needs the best. Between the ease of use and the outstanding customer support, I'm very happy that we chose eVet.

I'm neutral about the program. It has its pros and cons but needs work

Pros

Easy to use, easy to find information and print records, easy to cash out clients

Cons

Texting feature has too many steps and I hit cancel more than I hit send because the buttons have been reversed and cancel should not be the highlighted button, send should be. The invoicing can be extremely confusing especially to the client .. try to explain things sometimes is hard and getting yelled at by clients because they are frustrated with the way the invoice looks is not ideal. Rescheduling appointments takes forever.

For the most part positive. There are a few tweaks that I would love to have but that goes along with newer software. Would love if they had an app for the clinics to use on their smart phones

easy to use. Most of the buttons are self expanitory.

the setup was a lot of trial and error. I wish more distributors integrated with it.

### "Financial Reports"

Don't need "pretty updates", need updates that makes our staff and doctors easier to use.

Pros

Cloud based, but not robust enough for doctors to use on daily basis. Frequent updates are appreciated.

Cons

I do financial reports mostly related to the Sales Report Category. The downloaded Excel file contains formats such as "Fill Color" which are blue and absolutely not necessary. I am not interested in a preety report, I am in interested in a basic informative report on how the hospital is doing. I have to reformat the entire file to Arial, 10 pt with NO color fills. I am interested in Category Revenue and Doctor Production Revenue for monthly/quarterly/annual information. The reports are too congested. I don't need to know Quantity, Tax, Cost, Percentages of Packages or Percentage of All. Revenue or Production should replace Amount in the reports where indicated. Individual Doctor Provided worksheets should be labeled as doctor, not Provider Category Summary, and should be listed in alphabetically order. Also don't need to have reports with Packages or Categories that are "0"--I constantly have to delete those rows. As hospital director I want the basic informative financial information on how the practice is doing revenue wise and what doctor production is. eVet reports are very cumbersome and time consuming to get the information I need.

Not as robust and difficult to work as other Cloud based systems, but we found, as stated above, it was too simple in design. We have considered swithcing to another system but staff and doctors are stressed enough with Covid19, and don't need additional stress with switching systems.

Overall, I have had a great experience with eVetPractice for a cloud based system and I look forward to seeing how they develop and what they add from here!

Pros

It is more user friendly that some other software options. The fact that it is cloud based and can be accessed from anywhere was key for our purchasing decision. I like the fact that they continue to add features.

Cons

There are some features that are not available that I think should be common in veterinary software. When we ask about them, they add it to the features request list, but sometimes this takes a long time to get implemented. Example: ability to prevent some employees from making changes to the schedule. Hopefully will integrate with IDEXX xray systems soon! Would also like the ability to link multiple inventory items without making a package, and ability to zero out cost of linked inventory items.

Customer service was horrible. They touted having many features that they either didn't have or didn't work how they were supposed to.

Mediocre- too may time paint is slapped on a pig to make it look fresh and good and not enough thought was put into the ease of use in busy practices

### "eVetPractice"

From the migration to current day, the training and support staff at eVetPractice have been wonderful. If I have any questions about anything, I can jump on a live chat with someone within a matter of minutes and almost always have a solution to my problem. It is very intuitive for the user and administrator.

Pros

This software is very easy to use. The development team is constantly trying to improve and take suggestions to make it better. The support staff is very responsive, and if they don't have a solution to a problem, then they take a note of it, and put it on their roadmap to develop. The software itself is very intuitive, and even people who have never worked in the veterinary industry seem to pick it up very quickly. I have some employees who are not great with technology, and this software is easy for them to use.

Cons

The only thing that ever bothers me, is at the end of the day, the server seems to become less responsive. The loading times are longer. My assumption is that it is the time of day when everyone is trying to run reports, which is a very cumbersome process on the backend of the software. Having reports run in a more timely fashion, and the slowdown at the end of the day are the only downsides I've seen thus far.

Pros

Can use from anywhere. Client portal is nice.

Cons

Applying payments to old invoices is a nightmare. Also, I have been asking for years for a prompt to add quantity for product quick invoicing . Instead you have to reselect/edit the product to add quantity. I've also been asking for a 24 hour clock for years. Instead, they added different color options to the perimeter of the home screen. Nice, but ultimately unimportant.

Pros

Organized relatively well. Many customizable options. Cost is less than most comparable products.

Cons

New features seem VERY difficult to get implemented. Have made several requests to add a save function to referral letter page. As is, you must complete the entire letter at once. There is no option to save and finish later. This is highly impractical in a veterinary medicine setting where our days tend to get hectic and we are often pulled in multiple directions at one time. I have also requested the ability to hide inactive inventory items on the "On Hand Alerts" inventory management page. In the current state, there is no way to hide the inactive inventory items on this page. Obviously, if something is inactive, I don't need to know that we don't have those items, I already know......

I could not ask for a better experience since beginning using it in 2017.

Pros

Extremely powerful, versatile , with continuous quality improvements. The support is beyond any I have ever had with any software and have been using fully electronic medical records, inventory control, and accounting since the early 1990s.

Cons

Lack of integration with credit card merchant vendors.

The reporting is terrible. We would also like a whiteboard function that performed similar to SmartFlow with a timeline display for hopitalized patient treatments that writes back to the medical record.

Its medium, I think their are way better systems to assist with inventory control

Pros

That it is cloud based, relatively easy to use.

Cons

The software can be very slow at times, inventory section needs HUGE improvements- you should be able to put item's into select locations especially with a mobile aspect to the clinic, when invoicing it would save so much to have the quantity pop up so you had to input the amount dispensed, we have also been haveing trouble with it connecting and invoicing through smart flow.

Very frustrating. It seems that "improvements" are not much of an improvement, and more of a change for change's sake

Pros

Pretty page layouts but that is all. So many things are not helpful.

Cons

Task board and file documents rearrange their order on their own. Task board only shows the previous week - so if someone is on vacation and returns, they may have an empty list as all of the items may have "timed out". Renaming documents within a file will change the listed order (even on entries from previous days), and if you are working in the middle of a task list, you never know where that item will show up.

### "Needs improvement"

Easy to use, but recently there has been a lag in the server. We have had many issues with the software where it takes forever to load, crashes, or just doesn't work during operating hours.

Pros

User friendly, easy to access. Really enjoy the resource page, makes everything so much more clear. Inventory is clear.

Cons

Without the cloud, it is difficult to print anything since it has to download as a PDF. Very glitchy recently, takes forever to load and crashes daily! Cannot renew multiple prescriptions at the same time, we have to go back to the patient's medical record from the treatment page. Recommended to have a way that inventory items can be merged, so when one is dispensed, the inventory item is taken off of the second item. i.e. vaccines (DAPP and DAPP Puppy are the same, but have two separate inventory items).

Since making the switch from IntraVet to eVetPractice, things are fine. All of the porting over of records from old system to new was handled very well by them. The fact that we can choose to access it from anywhere (including my cell phone on days when the power has gone out) is great. The tech support is great, even though they often can't "cure" the specific issue. But they are honest about it, and always pleasant. There will always be some things that this system does better AND worse than that system, but overall, we are better off for having switched to them.

Pros

\-cloud-based (or internet-based, whatever the correct term is) -very timely tech support -barrier-to-entry training is moderate; doesn't take long to figure out -many customizable display options

Cons

\-when tech support is open, they're great, but since we are on the West Coast and they are not, they close earlier than would be ideal -the client payment history screen is a MESS (if someone doesn't make a full payment one time, it visually carries over and repeats that not-fully-paid invoice over and over, and makes it a big chore to figure out payment issues) -reports are less intuitive and less customizable than former software (Intravet and Cornerstone, to name two) -sometimes, you can see the disconnect between the developers and users with certain options

The product is good overall and the customer service is above average!

Pros

The integrations are great features! Scheduling, recording, and communication are also solid!

Cons

The financial component is weak. Invoices and payment application gets really convoluted if partial payments are applied incorrectly. Administrator should have the ability to delete same-day invoicing or payment application errors.

We've found Pulse to be very average. It gets the basics done most of the time and is easy to use, but "upgrades" over the past few years have most either been superficial or harmful to the user experience. To be a great long term choice we would recommend we would want to see major progress in terms of either increasing core functionality or making integrations with 3rd party solutions effective.

Pros

Pulse is easy to use and relatively reliable.

Cons

Limited/poor integrations with most 3rd party equipment and software feels restrictive as we try to streamline some processes. The reporting functions work very poorly, especially when it comes to production/service related reports or larger reports.

I love the easy of this program. I love that I can pull up the program on my cellphone if we at a house call or the power goes out at the clinic.

I would like to see a little better inventory management and some way to see if and when prescription labels are printed.

Pros

eVet is great because you can access it from anywhere. So when our staff are on farm calls they can access the patient's record and have clients pay all off-site. Also, doctors can finish chart notes or look at the schedule for the next day from home.

Cons

The reporting feature is terrible. Reports take forever and then crash. Also, some reports cannot be produced for an entire year.

It's been very positive. I used three other cloud-based softwares before evet, and wasn't happy with them. I am happy with evet.

Pros

It is easy to set up and customer support is very helpful. They are constantly improving the product and adding new features, and they take recommendations from current users.

Cons

There are a lot of clicks involved to do one thing.

VetBlue I used for only about 4 months in 2012 and it did not have the features I needed. It is very bare-bones. VetPort I used from 2012 - 2019, and customer service was a wreck. It was a buggy program that was not intuitive and they never made improvements. Shepherd I only used for about 2 months and it was a total train-wreck.

Overall, if I were to assign a grade to eVetPractice, it would be a "C."

Pros

As a solo practitioner in a rural setting, eVetPractice was one of the most affordable software platforms.

Cons

With affordability comes compromise, however. The major limiting factor in my area (which would have precluded my investing in the software had I paid more attention) was the fact that without internet access, I was SOL.

This fit the need until our clinic outgrew it - I can't say I regret us getting it - but it is time for a change.

Pros

There isn't much to like unless you walked into a practice that already had it set up - than you could say - "well at least I didn't have to set it up - but now I should probably think of a real PIMS"

Cons

Pulse has a lot of features that were never fully thought through or require external services that cost more to make them work. The internal workings of Pulse by itself as a PIMS is very lacking compared to other software on the market right now

### "Okay, could use some improvements"

It is okay but not as good as I’d hoped. It is getting easier. Slower to learn than our old system.

Pros

I like that for inventory, the cost is easily available as well as the price in the same place. Prices are easily adjusted. Treatment plans are easy and can be easily emailed. I like being linked to Rapport for texting. I like the decline feature on estimates and invoices so there is a record of what was offered and the price is easily refigured.

Cons

Web based is slower. I can’t send multiple attachments in an email or put multiple attachments in a medical record. When you cancel an appointment and try to schedule something else in its place, you get an alert that there is already an appointment in that place, even though it is gone. It’s really easy to schedule an appointment not linked to a patient. There is no prompt to do add the patient. It is really no better ordering from Covetrus through Pulse. You can’t see your previous orders like on the Covetrus site. Reports take FOREVER. Trying to do a monthly provider report takes minutes. You can’t do an annual one. It isn’t really possible to even do a 6 month report. Half the time on the monthly report I get an error message and it doesn’t finish.
