### "Overall, I'd highly recommend to other practices looking for a change"

June 15, 2021

4.0

Overall, very good. I would highly recommend to others. Aside from the software being a quality product, customer service is very good. It doesn't take long to reach someone for assistance and they always follow up to make sure everything is working properly.

Pros

Very easy to learn and use, but also intuitive. Helps enable workflow efficiency and provides an easy to read platform when entering or viewing patient/client record info.

Cons

At times, the software runs slow and will time out. Mostly only happens when updates are being performed.

Reason for choosing Covetrus Pulse

Hippo appeared very outdated and not intuitive enough for our needs. EzyVet didn't have all the capabilities (at the time) that eVet did. Customer service, in general, was also better amongst all options.

### "Dwindling Positives "

June 11, 2021

4.0

When starting with eVetPractice, knew it was a newer software and maybe not be as robust as others, but had high expectations of improvements based on marketing. Few changes have been made. There are many things that have been known issues for years for lots of users, but no changes for those major flaws. Feel as if eVet has failed to keep its promises regarding improvements, flexibility, and frequency of meaningful updates based on customer feedback. Believe that since being purchased by Henry Schein, it has gone even more downhill. Less to like, lack of changes, lack of improvements, lack of responsiveness. Because of these reasons, the few things that were liked, are dwindling.

Pros

User permissions, remote access and restrictions, time clock, distributor integrations for inventory, ability to toggle on or off lots of things (even small details), quick check out, integration with CareCredit, integration with outside and in house labs.

Cons

Reports, Financials, Label Printer Integration, lack of frequent, meaningful updates, inability to alter inventory/medical details without involving financial components (must void payment and reprocess to make any changes), lagging, old “look”, difficult to navigate and succinctly review medical records, requires so many button clicks, lack of frequent time stamping, lab results “fall off” the recently run page after a certain number, inflexibility of whiteboard utilization or options, inability to enact mass changes with inventory, clients, or patients.

### "Overall a good product"

June 11, 2021

4.0

Overall, I'm fairly satisfied. I believe eVet is working to improve but I may have been expecting more than what I should have been.

Pros

Integration was fairly smooth but getting used to the program was difficult. The fact that we were still using paper-heavy solutions at the time actually helped. The cloud-based process is good. Updates from eVet are easy and frequent. The customer service is responsive and easy. I like the ability of customer service to go into the software to see exactly what we are having problems with. I think it is, overall, pretty intuitive.

Cons

The practice management reports are not great. I think Avimark has great practice management reports. Since both programs are owned by the same company I would have thought that eVet would have investigated Avimarks best parts and modeled after them. I love the fact that you offer a voting process for requested updates but the process is a bit confusing to me.

Reason for choosing Covetrus Pulse

I chose eVet based on the recommendation of a colleague. I probably didn't do enough due diligence to really make myself feel completely comfortable.

Switched from

[Covetrus Avimark](https://www.capterra.com/p/92887/AVImark/)

Avimark became too large and cumbersome to deal with. Customer service became poor and very slow. They were unable to make any sort of significant customer-driven advancements. It became only about integrating other companies into the service. There was no indication that a cloud-based option was becoming available.

### "Good system with excellent, easy-to-reach customer service"

March 17, 2023

5.0

Very good and getting better as they do updates.

Pros

The integration of Pulse and Rapport have given us a very capable platform.

Cons

Every system has a few things that need tweeked. The think I dislike is that it seems like I have to "go in circles" when we are creating an invoice/entering charges. I'm on the patient, I hit "Quick Invoicing," but it's not that easy. I am taken back to the client and have to re-select the patient I was just on. Not a big deal, but it's annoying.

Reason for choosing Covetrus Pulse

We considered EZY-vet also but it was more expensive and didn't seem to offer much advantage. We've had an excellent relationship with Covetrus for years and trust their products. I felt I was getting more value from Covetrus.

### "Disappointing, a waste of time, energy and money. Very sad. "

July 11, 2017

1.0

I really have no pro's. The "idea" of what this software was going to be, was very far from what it ended up being. I loved the idea of going to the cloud. I loved that we would be able to access both of our locations from off site. There were numerous ideas on paper that seemed like it could be an ideal fit. Unfortunately, the idealistic roll out in my mind was far from the reality. I'm going to say this... when you speak to the CEO after you request a meeting, and within 60 seconds of the call, that CEO you are hoping will address your frustrations, laughs at you? Bad start. Now, I know what the response will be after reading my blurb below... something like, "Mrs. McIver, we apologize that you aren't happy with our software" or another similar phrase. But I am writing this not because I want a response, they very clearly told me they completed a "successful" migration and there was no further action they would be taking... I am doing it because I want people to know the facts. Have they had good runs? I'm sure they have! But when they have bad runs, the company's integrity get's challenged, and I am extremely disgusted with the way myself and my employee were treated during our recent conversation.

Cons

The facts of our run: Our first migration failed after the eVet team believed we wanted our two practices to be merged (however, there is not a mention of the word "merging" in any correspondence). This caused multiple issues both in confusion and legal issues. Although the time invested into that was a waste, and the havoc caused by switching software's back and forth was frustrating for the team and clients, we decided to move on and the team corrected the issue by splitting the clinics. The real concern's then came from the following... > The lack of transferring complete medical history by missing vital signs and documents and then being told "that isn't their job". > The mathematical error's experienced (4 to be exact) in only the first 13 days; calculating invoices way off of what the actual amount should be (screen shot's have been taken). > The 82 inventory discrepancies after coming from a clean run on our old software. > Broken links. > The poor client service and amount of time it takes to get answers on anything. The team on their live chat often don't know how to address your concerns, which then leads to them asking for more time to get you answers. So although the idea of live chat sounded really handy, it was very disappointing. > Records being printed with missing communication logs etc. I know our life on eVet was small, but the issues were too big to continue with.

Review Source

Response from Covetrus Software Services

December 21, 2017

The Vet Visionaries project was a disaster from the start. The conversion process was written and signed by them to merge both clinics, and only after we finished the conversion the group decided it wasn't what they wanted. So fine, mistakes happen, and we restarted from scratch. Then we finished that process and they decided to pull the plug. The failure of this project was communication breakdown, and that communication breakdown was on both sides. That is something we will strive to do better on in the future. The frustration in the review is because they thought they should get a refund on the conversion costs. We thought differently and they decided to write a negative review. We will take the lessons learned in dealing with this group and improve our processes for the better. I would ask anyone reading this to also read the 73 reviews prior that contain 4.5 to 5 stars.

### "Close but needs alot of practical consideration. Serious reliability issues."

June 16, 2021

3.0

Its ok due to price but if I could find better more Reliable Software with the ability to have clients enter in their own portal data( ex. EzVet with Jot form) we would move to another service instantly.

Pros

The cost. Client search feature. Cloud based.

Cons

Glitchy, unreliable, stock documents (rabies forms, medical records) look cheap, miss-aligned and sloppy. We do not have much trust in the accuracy of the system holding correct information. Example reminders infomation glitches. Too many windows, needs a simplified approach to entering and treatments all from one screen example avimark. System likes to change data randomly. Seems that when software is updated other glitches appear.

Reason for choosing Covetrus Pulse

I inherited it by the prior owner. Plus we are mobile so having cloud-based was extremely important over avimark not being "mobile".. and ezVet was ridiculously expensive.

### "Great for paperless practices "

March 27, 2023

5.0

Great experience and safe client/patient data use. Wonderful interaction with IT staff.

Pros

We started with evetpractice and it has since evolved into Covetrus. Customer service is great and respond in a timely fashion. Updates are also great that are constantly being done to improve the system. Cloud based mean we can also access records anywhere and at any time.

Cons

I wish requests for updates or improvements were responded to to find out if it’s even a possibility to implement. There are some that would be simple changes that could help everyday employees with Covetrus use. The sign ins can be tedious but understand the importance for security. Also if we lose internet and being beach property occurs on occasion and we lose access to records.

### "A fine system held back by a clunky interface"

March 17, 2023

3.0

Pros

The electronic medical record is fairly easy to use and great at keeping track of services and medications, and support is almost always able to assist.

Cons

The UI has progressively gotten worse with each update since we started using the software. The system is riddled with bugs and glitches that will cause slow downs in times of high pressure. Any administrative changes often don't take effect until after logging completely out of the system, making it difficult to determine if the changes had the desired effect.

### "Do not like Covetrus Pulse"

October 22, 2024

1.0

Pulse can be VERY glitchy, it goes down from time to time and we cannot do our daily tasks, it's not user friendly. I don't know what happened from when we first started using EVet Practice to Pulse, but something happened and not for the better. When we call about problems we are having, it's ALWAYS our server and not their problem to look into. The CSR are very nice and I know they are told what to say, it's by no fault of their own they can't say anything but "it's your server". I feel like Covetrus just doesn't want to take on the problems and fix what needs to be fixed. Pulse it just not what it used to be and sure not helpful when you have a problem. I wish I could say better things about Pulse.

Pros

At this time there is not much I like about Pulse

Cons

I used to rave about Pulse, something has changed and not for the better. I would not recommend it to a colleague at this time.

### "I recommend eVetPractice"

April 3, 2023

5.0

Overall I like it (despite my grousing) & recommend it.

Pros

This software is easy for new employees to learn & for the most part is is pretty intuitive. There are quite a few features that I don't use so I'm sure it does more than I am aware of. Support is good, too. I've left voice mails on the weekends fully expecting to not hear back from anyone until Mon, but have gotten calls on Sat & Sun which I appreciated SO much. I feel like it is fairly priced but fear that now that Covetrus owns it, they'll jack the price up. So far they haven't, but we'll see.

Cons

You have to do too much clicking. I have been complaining about this (& others have, too) for YEARS & NOTHING has been done. Here is an example: when making a SOAP, you go in the S box & type, click save, exit, enter the O box & type, save, exit, enter the A box, type, save, exit, enter the P box, type, save, exit. If you need to go back & add something, you have to go back to that box, type, save, exit. If you bounce around or need to edit a lot while writing, you'll be ticked by the end. I got fed up & now I put my entire SOAP in the S box & add lines between the sections. The powers that be also changed how to navigate around the software & now it is hard to find things. It was much easier before. Sometimes it seems like they change things just to make changes.

Reason for choosing Covetrus Pulse

EzyVet's screen was way too busy. Hippo didn't seem like they were ready to be open for business yet :)

4.0

I feel like I am always learning about the system as I get more comfortable with it. So many different features to it.

Pros

I do like the estimate feature which I use everyday. I really like the download update feature which I use all day long to input prior records . I do like how I can go to every invoice and return a product.

Cons

I don’t like the search option because I know the client is in there but for some reason it does not pull it up. Very frustrating and takes up too much time which I don’t have. The biggest problem is trying to send records to a specialist and the system says the file is too large. That’s ridiculous to deal with. I have to send multiple emails. Boarding needs to be seen on the daily screen so I see boarding reservations as well as appointments on my daily screen and don’t get surprised when boarders show up. And I need to be able to put 2 pets in one run.

### "eVet Review"

June 10, 2021

5.0

Overall, eVet is a good software, especially compared to some other veterinary software. It is very user friendly, and Customer Service is always one click away!

Pros

The product is pretty easy to use, and customer service is always very helpful. I love all of the information that is available, and I love how user friendly it is, compared to other softwares I've used.

Cons

Label printing for prescriptions are my least favorite. It now saves them as a PDF and you must print from the PDF rather than in eVet. It's a bit tedious.

### "Overall we like this program"

March 23, 2023

4.0

Better and easier communication with clients, integrates with our online pharmacy, texting clients, integrates with most of our inhouse and outside labs. We created handouts and documents which are easy to access and send to clients. Estimates are easy to create and send to clients for approval.

Pros

A lot of clicking but pretty easy to use and customize. Our staff have everything they need in the program to run more efficiently than our previous program.

Cons

Too many tabs to access files. Things should be consolidated more for easier access. The estimates are broken into categories and clients misunderstand one category for the total price. We just need everything in one category. Same with treatment plans. Just put everything into one category.

Reason for choosing Covetrus Pulse

At the time, Rapport helped us make the decision. We were choosing between EasyVet and EVet.

### "Basic software "

December 4, 2020

4.0

Overall I think it’s a great program to use, I don’t think it’s bad at all, there are definitely worse. You can teach anyone probably in a day or two. It’s very self explanatory. Coming from Cornerstone I picked it up in about a day, convenient to use.

Pros

What I like best is it’s easy to use and figure out. I had only used cornerstone before and it’s similar. I’ve only used AVImark for a few days, I find it harder that EVetPractice. I do enjoy some features, like how you can easily access the invoicing from more than one place, making notes are easy, editing is easy, and understanding the schedule/scheduling is VERY easy. Emailing medical records and estimates is a really cool feature. You can even save formats of what document you are sending.

Cons

Some of my issues, there aren’t as many features from what I’m used too. I find cornerstone has a lot of options of what you want. One thing I find irritating is no matter how long it’s been is you can edit notes or make changes. Whereas cornerstone you can “finalize” your notes so no one else can change it, but add on things you forget and it tells you when and who added something. Making estimates for patients are also not my favorite. There are options for group codes or individual codes. Versus one place where you can look up either... confusing... then when you save the estimate it’s hard to find. I wish I showed up in the medical record that we made one and can look at a finalized version of the estimate. But instead you have to find the estimate tab, and in a small box it has today’s date, well you need to click on that box to find other estimates. It shows up in the original format so you can continue to make adjustments which can be useful, but it’s just confusing. Imputing vaccine history is also just a train wreck... it takes me forever to input one, now try adding a full vaccine history, or bloodwork reminders... headache... another headache feature is transferring your bloodwork results. Obviously IDEXX made cornerstone so it’s very easy for the two to communicate, but it’s kind of a task to attach bloodwork to each patient, or finally figure out how to transfer the patient to the lab station.

### "Did a veterinary hospital even test this first before launching??"

November 5, 2019

2.0

E-Vet has the potential to be good but they should have (if they did it doesn't show) had veterinary hospitals test the program. Every person I know who's used it has been unhappy and would rather have Cornerstone or Avimark. It has so much wrong and so many things that should be changed to make working more efficient but it acts as a set back instead. The help desk via chat is sometimes helpful but usually they'll just say "Do you want to be added to our list for when we update/remove that feature" and have not once ever seen an modifications. It's not user friendly and beneficial for veterinary hospitals.

Pros

For the most part e-Vet is easy to use. It's very self explanatory in most aspects and can easily be customized (to an extent) for your practice.

Cons

LOTS of flaws. -You cannot search by phone number, the feature does not work properly -You can quick add a client, but cannot quick add a patient to an existing client -When using the quick add feature, it does NOT flag if a client is already in the system & it will duplicate -You cannot work with more than one tab open or it will cross add/delete the info on the next tab of the patient/client you're on -If using multiple payments, you have to manually do the math, it will not give you the new total, it won't give you the amount they still owe for the remainder of the split payments -The medical record when printed does not give dates that treatments were done, only when they're due which 9/10 hospitals ask for the date vaccinated - The communication entries cut off mid word if it's lengthy, it won't put the next word on a new line but instead will split the word in half. EX: hospital should be moved down but it will cut it in half so "hos" is on one line and "pital" is the start of a new line -You cannot suspend a reminder - if a client no longer wants a vaccine or they had a reaction to it, you are not able to suspend said vaccine/reminder -You MUST search with at least three letters. We have patients whose names are RJ, JJ, etc. and cannot search for the pet because there isn't three letters in their name -You cannot have a name such as "Daisy Duke" in the system because when you search under the full name or partial using just "Daisy" OR "Duke" it will not show

### "Pleased with eVetPractice"

June 29, 2021

5.0

We have been very pleased with eVetPractice since we began using it in May 2018. We tried several other programs when we decided to go with a coud-based program, and we are glad that we chose eVetPractice. While no program is perfect, we feel that eVetPractice is the best option for our growing 3-doctor practice.

Pros

eVetPractice is very user-friendly and intuitive. When we onboard new team members, they usually pick things up within the first two weeks.

Cons

The reporting features of eVetPractice are far from perfect. Basic reports are OK, but if you are trying to run detailed reports for accounting and tracking a wide variety of KPIs, this part of eVet will frustrate you.

5.0

It's easy to use and learn on. It's good for new employees who don't have experience with any software. It's useful that we can be logged in from all computers in a hospital without kicking somebody else off.

Pros

It's very user friendly. It's easy to add things to the treatment page and to the inventory. It's also very customizable. The patient medical record on the software is easy to navigate.

Cons

The invoicing page can be confusing. Credits/refunds should be more clear. The auto-log out feature doesn't work, and if it did, it would be more convenient to have a pin number to use for quick access in a busy hospital. It's annoying have to manually remove reminders when they've been updated (for ex, needing to remove a vaccine reminder when the patient has received that vaccine). I also wish there was a feature that date stamped a sentence before starting it (like Avimark).

### "Covetrus Pulse Review"

March 19, 2023

5.0

Overall, my experience is positive. I do not, however, recommend this product to others because of the processing integration and the problems I have generating reports. My previous software which was owned by Covetrus did a better job generating reports.

Pros

Overall, Pulse is easy to use. The day-to-day operation is straightforward and therefore it helps our client flow through the exam rooms. It is easy to write up medical records and to generate prescriptions for medications that are dispensed in house. Our lab station is integrated which makes things so much easier.

Cons

I do not like the change of integration with our payment processor. We like our current processor and are disappointed that the they are no longer an integrated option. I feel this was a change from our original agreement. Pulse often takes a long time to generate reports and many of my year-end reports had to be divided up into 3-4 month increments to get all of the information I needed.I also feel the integration with Covetrus for ordering and inventory management is cumbersome so I do not use that feature.

Reason for choosing Covetrus Pulse

I purchased the software when it was owned by another company. They were local and small ( evet practice) and were at a price point I could afford. They were helpful and came into our office to help when we transitioned from DVM manager.

### "eVet Review"

June 15, 2021

3.0

It is mediocre. There are other programs that I have used that I liked a bit better as far as being more user friendly and more stable.

Pros

I like that this enables me to work from home. If an owner contacts us after hours, I can access their records so that I can advise them correctly.

Cons

There is a lot of back-tracking to access patient information. It is also difficult to navigate on mobile devices. Being able to have mobile access to patient information is imperative at times. A mobile app would be fantastic. This software often freezes FREQUENTLY. After speaking with others who use eVet, they experience the same thing, however when customer support is contacted, they blame our internet. It is not the internet if multiple businesses across the country are experiencing the same issues.

### "Helps with the daily organization, billing and record keeping aspects of vet med. "

March 27, 2023

5.0

The reminder system has saved us many missed appts because we used to have to do them ourselves and when it got busy people didn’t get calls. If we were busy we didn’t get to call to remind of vaccines etc.

Pros

I like the billing options the most. The ability to add the same item to multiple pets invoices in the same family. The ability to see all invoices under the same owner so meds or food set aside for another pet doesn’t get missed when billing out one pets appt is valuable to me. The task section is also super beneficial for leaving messages for each staff member separately or by group (tech, reception). This prevents messages from being left in random places or being misplaced around the hospital like when we had paper records.

Cons

If an owner doesn’t pay their entire invoice the next time you go to ring in anything it looks like their entire invoice is still there and confuses the staff.

### "eVet/Cornerstone Software"

March 30, 2021

4.0

We love the fact that some of our staff can work from home, catching up on medical records, making phone calls, work within the system, etc....

Pros

We love the fact that eVet is cloud base and has a chat button. We do not have to spend a lot of time on the phone trying to get help with certain issues/situations.

Cons

Improvements: REPORTS (detail information). This is the one that thing that drives me crazy about eVet. You can not get detailed information for the clinic without spending A LOT of time trying to piece reports together. It would be nice if eVet could produce a monthly dashboard report like Cornerstone use to do for us. I feel like the report department lacks a lot of attention. It is so frustrating when you can't run a 6 month report because it is to much information and the software crashes. We would like to run a sales report on Dental Procedures for the month, you can't do that very well because of the way inventory, procedure and packages are set up. Daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly data reports that are needed for a practice is just not easy to get. I would like to hope in the future that eVet will spend a little bit more time on the report department so clinics can monitor their growth. I like the idea that the reports are pdf or excel, however the excel can be frustrating at times. The way reports converts over is not always simple. I have spent a lot of time learning excel and pivot tables due to eVet and still not get information needed. Treatment Plans: Why do the treatment plans have to break down per category? This is NOT very professional and can be so confusing to clients. Service/Inventory should just be line by line. Clean, simple and easy to discuss with clients. We waste a lot of time explaining why the TP looks the way it does.

Reason for choosing Covetrus Pulse

eVet seemed to have what we were looking for in a cloud base software. We did not know at the time that eVet can not produce the detailed reports that Cornerstone has. This part is a disappointment.

Our server and some desk top computers needed to be updated. We did not not want to spend thousands of dollars again on computers.

### "Overall one of the better cloud based softwares"

August 16, 2021

5.0

Overall they were the best of the bunch when we signed up, and I still feel pretty confident that they are better than 90% of the market.

Pros

We really like the inventory features, plus the reminders are very much set it and forget it! We also like how customizable many things are. Customer support has overall been amazing.

Cons

Little quirks and glitches we find here and there (like linked inventory items). Load times on screens. Its not bad, but those 5 and 10 second waits really do add up! I wish there was an "on order" feature in inventory that would show a list of every item on all outstanding PO's.

Reason for choosing Covetrus Pulse

We wanted cloud based and intuitive. We also wanted value for the money and did not want huge up front costs.

### "Excellent start for going paperless. "

March 22, 2023

4.0

Overall, Covetrus Pulse was an easy transition from paper to paperless and we only expect it to get better with move tailoring to our business.

Pros

Covetous Pulse is easy to learn and use right out of the gate. There are some tweaks needed, but their on line help is quick and efficient. If it is not already in an article to follow, a representative is quick and effective to solving the problem or with advice.

Cons

Integration was quite easy as an end user. Cut and paste and some calendar issues can be simplified or added to assist in daily scheduling. Least liked though is the invoicing when there is a balance, or open balances.
